I believe the game displays negative times incorrectly, and the actual time is between -0:00.07 and -0:00.05. It's a much more reasonable time when compared with the other times on the leaderboard. When the game displays -1:59.95, it should actually be read as "-1 minute + 59.95 seconds" (i.e., the negative applies to the minutes, but not to the seconds or centiseconds). Normally, we would read -1:59.95 as "-1 minute - 59.95 seconds", or equivalently, "-(1 minute + 59.95 seconds)".

In advance, sorry for my long comment. I've been trying to get under 53.50 seconds, to finally get the freaking plat for the level, , but no way. I always get some bad rng, lose my masks and get blown up by the bombs and enemies. Countless times i was about to rage- uninstall the game. Like the bridge level in crash 1, the more we fail, the more nervous we get, and the more we fail... Som of the first levels were relatively easy to plat the trial ... but so far, this level was a true nightmare. These levels basically force gamers to master the triple spin and triple dash spin. Without it, no need to even try to get the plat, it will be impossible. 3 controllers were destroyed, and hands were bitten, because of the bridge level in crash 1 :) is been really tough, to stay 'cold' and not lose it, with this Crash. Not cool, when playing a game gives us frustration , instead of joy and happiness. Why making a game, where completing it is a challenge for 1 person, and tons of frustration and rage for 999 others. Yes, no matter how skilled a gamer may be, this is the result of maybe hundreds of hours playing the same level over and over. It probably took him 200..300...500 attempts, to 1- become this good at this level, and 2- be lucky with the rng and timing, to finally get this time. Cookie, the guy with most crash world records, played it for years. That's how he can complete the game without taking a single hit.
It's because he gained more time by breaking time creates than his time to finish the level. The time crates he didn't use got subtracted from his overall time, so it went negative. Let's take a simple example: if you break a 3 second crate, but you finish the level in 2 seconds, your overall time will be -1 second because 2 seconds to finish the level minus 3 seconds gained by breaking time crate is -1. So basically, he won more time breaking time crates than the time he finished the level.
Watching your speed runs has ruined this game for me. Crash 4 is hard enough as it is but these platinum relics are beyond ridiculous. After getting the platinum for 1, 2 and 3 i am truly annoyed with this game.

Everyone can do it with some practice, the game gives you some "coyote time"
Sliding off the ledge has "Coyote Timer", which allows you to jump in the air. Master it as soon as possible, especially in the Flashback Tape levels.
