Ive fought against the "men cant be open or vulnerable" thing since an early age. I fought it by forming close relationships with women and once i trusted them, opening up about various things. I didnt treat them like my personal therapist, and i also didnt cry over every stubbed toe. Every single woman has made me regret it in one way or another, save for the sole exception being my mother. I still hate the idea, but sometimes you just gotta accept reality

We've had the right argument for years. Woman or console? The answer is of course a console. Its there when you get home, doesn't argue with you, and doesn't get mad if you're to tired to play at the end of your workday. The "running into a bear" vs "being exposed to a tree" are very fair comparisons because a woman wants safety from a man, and a man wants respect from a woman. A man is supposed to be physical and give all of what they can to their partner, and a woman is going to be emotional and supposed to give all of that to her partner. There's a fascinating documentary about a group of bears coming out of the woods some years ago and launching a full-on attack on people on a beach. Looking at the horrible videos from that day, there were no women running towards the bears, but there were men who got killed protecting women and children. Worst case of telling a woman your feelings would be divorce, allimony, child support and living in a box.
Ive fought against the "men cant be open or vulnerable" thing since an early age. I fought it by forming close relationships with women and once i trusted them, opening up about various things. I didnt treat them like my personal therapist, and i also didnt cry over every stubbed toe. The "running into a bear" vs "being exposed to a tree" are very fair comparisons because a woman wants safety from a man, and a man wants respect from a woman. There's a fascinating documentary about a group of bears coming out of the woods some years ago and launching a full-on attack on people on a beach. Looking at the horrible videos from that day, there were no women running towards the bears, but there were men who got killed protecting women and children.

I was one of the upset idiots. Spending time online too much does that to a person. Dadvocate tried to make this same case, but I think it was too soon after. I also saw the woman/tree argument, and shrugged because I know that's just a common effect; once you burn your hand on a stove burner, you take more precaution around all stove burners. Common sense, right? I spent a few weeks off social media, writing stories. Now I don't care about it either. They can lie all they like, but I know she's getting in the elevator with me if the building is on fire.
I think the better question at this point should be whether men should ALLOW the woman into the elevator.

I think the issue is the widespread trend of women choosing the bear, it's a symptom of the breakdown of relations between men and women. If we're able to correct that sort of thinking in other folks, then maybe more people will be able to have stable relations.
It should be called out for the disingenuous lie that it is. Women are able to control culture with simple lies and by painting themselves as perennial victims they know they can avoid accountability forever.
