I have ADHD, and so keep my youtube videos at 1.25 speed. I sometimes even up to 1.5 if the presenter is a slow talker. Every Monday morning I move my speed to 1x just so I can soak up every last moment of Fish Tank Reviews :)
I listen to 2x so I can watch as many fft videos as possible in the shortest amount of time …. And I listen to podcasts on 3.5x …. I’m pretty sure it’s adhd but my parents don’t accept that women can have adhd and just call my auntie and I hypochondriacs….. yes I’ve been to a doctor but the specialists that are able to diagnose me are expensive and 4 hours drive away …. That all came out at once sorry for anyone that read that

All the dads in my family are dead, including my dad, my husband, and my son, and so that I wouldn't have to think of it for an entire day, I just took the day off and slept through it. Not nearly as much bawling and nashing of teeth that way.

8:19 I just hauled out my old 1.5 gallon hex aquarium that was a Christmas gift in middle school in 1999. Made a nano walstad tank. First time there's been water in it in 20 years.
I have a bladder snail species tank - it’s a 2 gallon on my desk which i feed heavily. Every second day I put a slice of cucumber in it, wait an hour for snails to be all over it- then i shake it off in my pea puffer tank. Safe to say, those puffers dont let any snails live in their tank for longer than 10 minutes 😂
Ohhh my gosh, that 20 long is beautiful. Imo a driftwood log and some floaters up top are the *best* way to use a long shallow tank like that, and this one looks like a little slice of river too. Looks very understocked but just picture some colorful bright red platies swimming around, a big shoal of neon tetras with maybe a dwarf gouramis centerpiece, or a cold water tank with zebra danios and white cloud minnows… chef’s kiss, so much potential for a beautiful tank like this

RIP Frederick. You were a real one. QotW: Generally more of a savory person, but recently I've been on a Toffifee kick. They're hazelnuts in nougat and caramel with a drop of dark chocolate on top. Be careful though, they're kinda addicting...
The sour keys, the smaller ones especially if they’re several years stale before they send them to me because they take so much longer to chew before they dissolve so I can enjoy them for longer, if I can’t get stale candy then haribo goldbears makes a particularly chewy gummy bear that’s also delicious.

I think the craziest Idea I am working on is a 200 gallon indoor wooden pond box enclosure for my toad. I have no idea if it will work out but I am slowly planning it. Hoping to be done this month.

Threw in some leftover live plants, and before I knew it I ended up with an overgrown tank that sometimes need topping. And my snails only breed to keep up the numbers, barely any extra for my turtle. My favorite candy is Negro. Yes it is an actual brand.
Oh man, I got a giant thing of Kopiko from Costco and my whole family loves it! QOTW mine changes all the time. Skittles are always a good time. I always love chocolate, especially Cadbury. Here's a spicy candy take: once a year I crave candy corn. Just in the fall, I'll buy some, eat it happily and then never want it again for the rest of the year.
I’m cycling a 325 gallon shallow pond I’m going to be planting more soon and stocking with guppies it is an indoor pond and I have plant grow lights hung above it with clay soil, top soil and sand
Kopiko! I loved kopiko, they're kinda mysterious like those strawberry candy now that I think about it. You only find it in your friend's mom's car or something. Anyway that's not my favorite, mines is just called "golden candy". It's got a dried plum with some li hing mui covered in golden hard candy. Funny enough I stumbled across it this past weekend and picked up a bag and I'm eating it while watching this vid lol

I actually really like that artificial betta tank by ionicferno. Yeah it’s artificial but it’s not *tacky*, they have a clear theme and it’s actually very aesthetically pleasing. I feel like this is artificial decor done right Still, it’s great that they decided to go with a more natural route, and the betta seems to be loving it too!

Jelly babies! I am that kind of Whovian. Last week, I actually bought a bag of jelly babies to give to David Tennant (10th and 14th Doctor) this weekend, but he had to cancel the convention due to a change in work schedule. Guess I'm gonna eat them.....
QOTW: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups... also: Church Lady Eggs... Every year before Easter, here in PA, all the Church Ladies at local churches get together and make peanut butter or coconut eggs covered in chocolate. Then they put them up in little boxes at small local stores, for $1 each. Those contain an inordinate amount of sugar so I found a way to make tasty, healthier ones: melty chocolate (somewhere in your grocery store) natural peanut butter (ingredients: squashed peanuts) almond or coconut flour (NOT wheat, you can't use wheat raw, alond or coconut is safe tho) mix PB and flour shape chill no no chill more roll into vaguely egg shape... or whatever melt chocolate (with a tiny bit of veg oil so it melts better) dip "eggs" in chocolate, put on cookie sheet, chill in fridge or freezer devour

You can and will absolutely get mulm in fruity pebbles gravel, it's just food and fish poop that settles down inbetween the rocks. If you have fish in your tank and feed them you will get mulm. (Unless you empty your tank and put it all in the dishwasher every week...😮)

Mulm is just decomposing organics. I always have some in my tank, but I leave it. I never vacuum my tank- I feel like it adds to the health of my ecosystem. If it were to get out of control I might remove some of it, but I try not to overfeed and it seems to keep in check =)

8:30 yep I really want one of those tanks if I could get it for cheap to rehab my mail order plants so that they wouldn’t do all of their melting and algae phase inside my betta tanks because my shrimp can’t eat that much algae by themselves and I have to go in the tank with a toothbrush or it starts taking over all of the swimming space. By the way I found on Amazon the best algae tool for long algae is a pet toothbrush bristles 360° in silicone and each circle of bristles rotates independently from the other bristles, twirl it like spaghetti and it works a charm for getting the algae off the red root floater roots that’s some of them failing to convert to aquarium living after almost a week in the mail after a few months the original leaves are dying off again and some of them seem to be surviving well but they have so much algae growing on the roots from the ones that didn’t make it.
My natural tank is the cleanest one of my 3. The black water is pristine. Detritus worms, no hydra, a decent mulm layer & lots of visible soil layers. I just like the look of the various soil layers for extra color & texture elements.
My favourite sweets (or candy) has got to be either Haribo Tangfastics or sour apple belts. I am a sucker for old people sweets too though like mints and 10 year old butterscotch hit different.
You mentioned having a goby! Perfect timing for this video because I just got a goby and he is a single guy in my 26 gallon community tank. Is it okay to just keep one goby?
I dunno if it counts, but I'm seasonal with my candy preferences (mostly because that's when you can get some of them): cadbury mini eggs, (Canadian) Smarties, peppermint candycanes.

Hi Chris I need some help I’m thinking of getting a 5 gallon Betta tank and I want to add a few fish with my Betta doesn’t matter as long as they are capable of being in it would 5 neon tetras work? If not any other fish I have a 25 gallon tank downstairs but is has goldfish and some other fish but you know how bettas and goldfish don’t get along

I wanted to get a panted tank for just a snail (don't judge) and my friend said they had a fish bowl that I could use (don't worry, there were never any fish in it) but generally fish bowls are not good, would it be ok and humane to put just one ramshorn in it also would I need a filter? Thanks!
AOTW: My favourite candy is sushi. Particularly hamachi, Otoro, Sake, Smoku Sake, Mintaiko, Masago, and Tai. Real Tai. Not the crappy American fake Tai. Real Japanese Tai. You know the old saying, "Even rotten, it's still tai!" It's made of WHAT?! Never mind. I don't like sushi. I guess I'll limit myself to tofu and noodles and pretend that's candy. If you add enough shoyu, and togarashi, you can make any noodles... well... passable. That's one of the things I learned in college. I don't think I learned anything else of lasting importance working through college to a PhD, But I did learn that. I also learned that those same ingredients don't do much to help rice, and that rice is best either freshly steamed, or stir-fried with lots of sesame seed oil and anything else you happen to have laying around. Roommate leave a chicken bone in the trash? Then you have something to put in the fried rice! If you're really student poor, you can just have fried rice with only whatever oil you happen to have around. Some onion will help it a lot. I did try to put nato in fried rice once. Let's just say it wasn't the best idea I've ever had, even though I like both nato and fried rice on their own. None of these things are really candy, but on the other hand, candy not so good for you, and leave you feeling hungry, so it's maybe not the best thing to put in your face. I also don't put fish food or turtle pellets in my mouth either. It's a good idea to know what kind of animal you're feeding, even when that animal is you. Feed healthily, and don't overfeed. It's just good animal husbandy. And if it's your kids and they're in college, keep up the tradition! Don't feed them at all! Make them lick algae off the glass. They'll learn more about how to spend and how to save that way.

8:30 yep I really want one of those tanks if I could get it for cheap to rehab my mail order plants so that they wouldn’t do all of their melting and algae phase inside my betta tanks because my shrimp can’t eat that much algae by themselves and I have to go in the tank with a toothbrush or it starts taking over all of the swimming space. By the way I found on Amazon the best algae tool for long algae is a pet toothbrush bristles 360° in silicone and each circle of bristles rotates independently from the other bristles, twirl it like spaghetti and it works a charm for getting the algae off the red root floater roots that’s some of them failing to convert to aquarium living after almost a week in the mail after a few months the original leaves are dying off again and some of them seem to be surviving well but they have so much algae growing on the roots from the ones that didn’t make it.
My natural tank is the cleanest one of my 3.
The black water is pristine. Detritus worms, no hydra, a decent mulm layer & lots of visible soil layers.
I just like the look of the various soil layers for extra color & texture elements.

Also, can confirm that the bladder snail tank is 100% for the pea puffers. When I had my peas, I had a bladder snail tank for live feeding. I miss having pea puffers, and even my husband admitted that of all the fish I've had, the pea puffers were his fav. Looks like I should get more pea puffers 😁

I wanted to get a panted tank for just a snail (don't judge) and my friend said they had a fish bowl that I could use (don't worry, there were never any fish in it) but generally fish bowls are not good, would it be ok and humane to put just one ramshorn in it also would I need a filter? Thanks!

It's made of WHAT?! Never mind. I don't like sushi. I guess I'll limit myself to tofu and noodles and pretend that's candy. If you add enough shoyu, and togarashi, you can make any noodles... well... passable. That's one of the things I learned in college. I don't think I learned anything else of lasting importance working through college to a PhD, But I did learn that. I also learned that those same ingredients don't do much to help rice, and that rice is best either freshly steamed, or stir-fried with lots of sesame seed oil and anything else you happen to have laying around. Roommate leave a chicken bone in the trash? Then you have something to put in the fried rice! If you're really student poor, you can just have fried rice with only whatever oil you happen to have around. Some onion will help it a lot. I did try to put nato in fried rice once. Let's just say it wasn't the best idea I've ever had, even though I like both nato and fried rice on their own. None of these things are really candy, but on the other hand, candy not so good for you, and leave you feeling hungry, so it's maybe not the best thing to put in your face. I also don't put fish food or turtle pellets in my mouth either. It's a good idea to know what kind of animal you're feeding, even when that animal is you. Feed healthily, and don't overfeed. It's just good animal husbandy. And if it's your kids and they're in college, keep up the tradition! Don't feed them at all! Make them lick algae off the glass. They'll learn more about how to spend and how to save that way.
