C85135 vs C83117 The C85135 (used in this video) has an AUX port and uses AA batteries; which provide the ability to use basic clock functions. The C83117 does not have an AUX port and uses a CR2032 battery for backup purposes only. Beyond this, the two versions will function the same way.
I just bought 4 today at Costco as I needed new ones. Exceptional job at explaining it so well. Wasn’t in the mood to read. I wish you had a “record” a voice one to annoy my kids. Lol ☺️😇😍. Thank you again!!!
We're extremely glad you enjoyed the video and so happy you choose La Crosse Technology. If you should ever have any questions, just let us know. In the meantime, we'll work on getting that "record a voice" feature to our engineers. :)
Given that the clock 'knows' what day of the week it is, is it possible to have an alarm programmed for specific days of the week, or do i have to remember deactivate the alarm the night before (e.g. for Saturday)?
Unfortunately, the C85135 Alarm Clock model featured in this video does not offer these more detailed alarm features. If you're interested in a model that does have these functions, please reach out to our store at 608-785-7939 or via email at: store@lacrossetechnology.com and ask about these specifics. Hey Adrian, unfortunately the volume of the alarm cannot be adjusted, though as mented at the 9:17 mark in this video, the alarm should increase in volume over a 5 minute period. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience.
Hi, I just have to say this clock is phenomenal! But one thing, I do not know how to delete the alarms with Nature Sounds. If you could let me know how to do that that would be great! Thank you!
Hey Noah, sorry for the delayed response. To deactivate either your Sound Alarm, simply tap the SOUND Alarm button, this will bring up that alarm's time. While viewing this time, simply tab that SOUND Alarm button again. This will turn that alarm ON or OFF indicated by the Alarm Icon on the LCD. These instructions are covered at the 10:29 mark in this video as well.
I have set everything else correctly, I’m able to get the sounds and light and set up everything, but I can’t seem to change the day?? It says Monday 1/9/2018, but it’s Tuesday, so I figured if I went to the settings I could change the day but that’s not anywhere
I have everything set up, the batteries in, and the cord plugged in, and it beeps when it powers on, but no matter how long I hold down the settings button, no settings appear.
Hey I have this alarm and I’ve been having problems with pressing the buttons I tried resetting it but it takes like 5 presses to do one thing like changing the color from red to yellow

Hey Mary, our apologies for any confusion. We do have two different versions of this mood light alarm clock, the C85135 featured in this video has the AUX port necessary to play music from another device, but our C83117 unfortunately does not offer this option. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience and are here to help if you should have any further questions.
Very strange. For assistance, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook page. Our team would love to help get this figured out. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Unfortunately, no you cannot switch the beep noise. You can only turn the beep noise on or off for each button push. This is covered in your settings menu starting at the 1:48 mark in this video.
Unfortunately, with this and our similar C83117 model, white is the only color that will work for the wake up light alarm. Sorry for any inconvenience.
After starting from scratch and watching the video carefully I finally got the alarm to work. The problem is I'm not sure what I did differently this time to make it work. Now the sound is too low (and think I know how to fix this) but at least the alarm went off as set this morning. I think the interface on the clock is not user friendly and should be simplified. Setting up this clock from scratch is harder than any other clock I've had. Now I, too, have questions about how the auxiliary port works and what it exactly does. This clock does not seem very sensitive to setting changes.
Hi Linda, thank you for the comments and sorry for the hard time getting things set up. If you prefer, our full manual may be easier to understand: www.lacrossetechnology.com/media/catalog/product/c/8/c85135_moodlight_022117.pdf -- But as for the auxiliary port, this port will allow you to play music or other audio through the alarm's speaker. It will require a separate 3.5mm auxiliary (AUX) cord that plugs into your external device (phone, MP3 player) to work. Instructions for this can be found on page 10 of your manual, or starting at the 13:15 mark in this video. If you have further questions, or believe your item is not working properly, please reach out to our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport and they will work with you should you need a replacement. Sorry again for the trouble.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. To place an order for the cord specifically, please reach out to our store directly at 608-785-7939 or via email at: store@lacrossetechnology.com
No worries! This can easily be fixed by resetting your time 12 hours ahead through your settings menu. When doing so, you'll see the AM switch to PM or vise versa. The Setting Menu instructions start at the 1:48 mark in this video.
Unfortunately, no there is no app for controlling this Mood Light Alarm Clock. We will, however, pass the idea along to our engineers for possible implementation in future products.
Will this clock be dark at night or have a light all night long? I don't want the light to be on all night on. Thinking of buying this to move my phone away from me at night.
Hi Izabela, that's a great question. Unfortunately, the mood light on our C85135 model, featured in this video, will need to be manually turned on or off. However, this is a simple one button action. The intensity of the mood light and LCD backlight can each be modified as well. These settings are shown starting at the 4:12 mark in this video. For more specifics about this item, you can find the full manual here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/media/catalog/product/c/8/c85135_moodlight_022117.pdf and more about our other alarm clocks here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/time/alarm-clocks -- If you have any further questions, please just let us know.
I can't do anything to the mood light and the alarm doesn't even work. How does this get 4.6 stars? Nothing works for me. 👎 Edit- Haha I had the wire plugged into AUX not the bottom. Lol. Nevermind it works for me
I have everything set up, the batteries in, and the cord plugged in, and it beeps when it powers on, but no matter how long I hold down the settings button, no settings appear. I'm frustrated and confused with this situation. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to fix this or if I just have to get it replaced. Im frustrated in particular because I opened it without thinking I'd need to return it and now I don't have the packaging in good condition.
Mine suddenly just started beeping every 30 or 40 seconds randomly. I changed the batteries, I turned the beeping off in set up, and looked everywhere on what might be causing it. I don't have any alarms set. What could be causing this? It's so annoying! It's the same sound beep it makes when you touch the snooze/light button to increase the light setting of the actual clock. 1 beep every 30 or so seconds. What is that?
Hi Dorothy, we truly apologize for this strange issue. Please try a factory restart by removing all power from your alarm. Then press any button at least 20 times and wait at least 5 minutes with the power off. After this time, reinstall the power cord and set things up as they were. If this issue continues, please message our support team here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/support/index/form/ and we'll work to get you a replacement. Sorry again for the troubles.
Unfortunately, no, this is not a bluetooth device. However, we do have a couple of alarms to do offer this function, they can be found on our website here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/time/alarm-clocks#special_features=bluetooth&gan_data=true
Hi Madeline, any button besides the SNOOZE/LIGHT button will turn off a sounding alarm. The alarm will then remain active for the next time it is set to go off. The SNOOZE/LIGHT will put the alarm in Snooze Mode for the custom duration you set in the Settings Menu.
Hey Derek & Emily, this will depend on the model version you own. Our first edition, the C85135 featured in this video, is indeed limited to the 90 minutes of nature sounds via the timer. Our second edition, the C83117, improved upon this by making the timer controls separate from the nature sounds, thus allowing for a continuous playback if desired. More on the C83117 nature sounds can be found on page 4 of the manual here: bit.ly/c83117_manual. In regards to the mood light, that can be set to appear all of the time on either of these models, more on this specifically is covered at the 4:16 mark in this video or on page 5 of the C85135 manual here: bit.ly/c85135_manual. Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience or confusion.
First off, we just want to clarify that this alarm clock cannot be "charged" itself. Its many features require use of the provided power cord for constant power. As for charging other devices, such as mobile phones, the USB port provides a 1Amp maximum output, so splitting this may result in slower charge times or no charge output at all. Our recommendation would be to use the original USB charging cord provided with the device you wish to charge for the best results.
I've just opened mine and the screen lights up for about 10 seconds and then goes dark, the settings won't come up at all, no matter how long I hold the Set button for. I have it plugged in and have the batteries in. What should I do?
I went back and swapped it for another one and this new one works perfectly, so if it's bothering you I'd return it and ask for a replacement. What I did was ask if I could test it out in the store before I left so I knew it worked and it did.
None of the buttons are responding. At all. I have the cable plugged into the right hole and nothing happens when pressing any buttons. Very frustrated
Hi Joe, we apologize for the issues with your alarm and would love to get you a working model. Please send our support team a message here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/support/index/form/ and we will do our best to make that happen as soon as possible. Sorry again for this inconvenience.
Hey Heartwill, we are truly sorry for any confusion, but the Soluna alarm clock must be powered via the provided power cord. It cannot be "charged" to run on a battery. However, the unit does have an included USB charging port which can charge external devices like cell phones. More info can be found in your product manual and FAQ documents located under the SUPPORT tab here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/c80994

Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook page. Our support staff will be happy to help in any way they can.
I was actually trying to set a alarm so I searched on RUclips but then I see the latest comment and when I uses the cuz who reads directions I am like, there’s no use watching the video, just use directions!
Hi Lynden, that is correct. Our updated C83117 version does not have an Aux Port as our C85135 model shown in this video does. We apologize for this inconvenience. For reference, our full manual for your item can be found here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/media/catalog/product/c/8/c83117_mood_light_web_031518.pdf
Hey Ashley, yes indeed. This is covered starting at the 4:12 mark in this video or on page 5 of this item's full manual here: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0035/7443/1790/files/c85135_moodlight_022117.pdf?v=1594066127
hey! this is helpful but mine doesn’t have the battery thing, it’s a bit different & randomly turned off like 5 mins ago. Wondering what else i can do? it does not have battery’s and it’s a round thing inside of it.
Hi Monse, our first thought would be to check and make sure you have the power cord securely plugged into the bottom/back of the device, as well as plugged into a working outlet. In many of our color LCD/LED products this power cord is required. For further help, please pass along your product model number or feel free to reach out to our support staff directly here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/pages/tech-support#TechSupport -- Sorry again for any inconvenience.
Hi Bao, please make sure you have the item powered using the provided power cord. Battery power only will not allow many of this alarm's functions to work. If you are using the power cord (plugged into the bottom) and these functions still are not working, please reach out to our support team here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/support/index/form/ and we'll work with you should you need a replacement. Sorry for the troubles or any confusion.
Backup batteries in our C85135 Mood Light Alarm Clock model will help keep your time and settings saved, however, the batteries will not allow the colored mood light or alarm features to function. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Hey Morteza, sorry for the trouble! Let's try a few steps to see if we can get this corrected: 1. Remove all power from your display. Including batteries and unplugging the power cord from both your wall and from your display. 2. Press any button on the display at least 25 times and leave it sitting without power for at least two hours. 3. Power the display back up by plugging the power cord into your outlet first, then into your display. If your model uses AA or AAA batteries, be sure to install a new set of alkaline batteries, other battery types should be avoided. If problems still persist, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page. Our apologies again for the inconvenience.

First off, thanks for doing this. Helpful and shows that you care. Here's my question: is there a way to turn the mood light on and off with just the press of a button (without cycling through the options each time)? Say I want to use the mood light at Level 4, Blue. And say I will never ever change my mind. Can the clock remember this setting? If so, which button do i press to turn the mood light on and off?
Hey Valerie, thanks for reaching out! Since the mood light intensity and color are controlled by separate buttons, we'd recommend only using the MOOD LIGHT button to adjust the light brightness versus having to pick the color each time, the alarm clock should keep you color saved. Unfortunately, there is no "one-touch" option for these settings and we apologize for any inconvenience.
Hey Mikayla, we're sorry to hear this. For further assistance, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page.
Is there no option to set the light for a certain amount of time so it isn’t on when I sleep? Or does it not affect the battery if it’s on the whole night?
Cool, now to answer your question, the moodlight and LCD backlight have their own separate controls, as shown in this video starting at the 4:11 and 5:38 marks respectively. However, these are manually controlled, and have no auto-dim feature. And as for the light affecting your battery, since your alarm cannot really function without being plugged in, these will not affect your battery life. Both the C85135 and your C83117 model will work pretty much the same way. For more information you can find the full product manual on our website here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/media/catalog/product/c/8/c83117_mood_light_web_031518.pdf

Everything is fine with mine, I just wanted to know if it is dangerous to leave the led on for extended periods of time unattended? Or is it fine, my model is the (c85135) by the way.
Hi Rebecca, we sincerely apologize for the troubles. If you have the item powered via the power cord (securly plugged into the bottom power input), and are still not seeing the lights or hearing the sounds, this is likely a defective unit. In this case, please send our support team a message here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/support/index/form/ -- they will gladly help get you a replacement. Sorry again for this inconvenience.
Hi, the aux port is a bit confusing for me (I’ve watched the video section and attempted it but it doesn’t work) When I plug in my aux cord, then hit the SOUND button, it only plays the nature sounds, and not my music. I’ve tried holding it down, I’ve tried just pressing it quickly, but the results are the same. The aux cord I have is the correct size, so that’s not the issue. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!
Sorry for the trouble. It sounds like you've done everything correctly, and assuming you've had the AUX cord plugged in all of the way and it is in working order, the nature sounds should be disabled when the auxiliary cord is inserted. If you have the ability to try another cord to possibly rule that out, that would be a great step. Otherwise, please reach out to our support staff here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport and they will work to make this right. We apologize again for the trouble.
Hi I have this alarm clock and I had it for years, but for a while now the buttons are not responding, the mood light is stuck on red, it's on the wrong time and date and when I try to replace the batteries nothing happens. Please respond back if there is a solution.
Hey Isaac, our sincere apologies for the trouble! Please try the following steps to help get this corrected: 1. Remove all power from your display. Including batteries and unplugging the power cord from both your wall and from your alarm clock. 2. Press any button on the alarm clock at least 25 times and leave it sitting without power for at least 15 minutes. 3. Power the display back up by plugging the power cord into your outlet first, then into your display. If you were using batteries for backup purposes, be sure to install a new set of regular alkaline batteries for best results. Other battery types are not recommended. If this does not resolve the issue, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page for further assistance.

So when the alarm is playing, telling you to wake up, you tap the top of the alarm to snooze. How do you turn off the sound and light but keep the clock switched on? I know it’s a strange question, i have been finding myself unplugging it at the wall every morning.
Hey Remy, great question! Our apologies for the confusion and not specifically covering this in the video. To turn off an active light and/or sound alarm simply press any button besides the SNOOZE button on top. This will return the alarm back to your normal mood light mode and keep the alarm activated for the next day. More details about this and other features can be found in your full manual and FAQ documents here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/C85135#support
Hey Natalie, are you saying you'd like to turn the snooze button function off? Unfortunately, that is not an option. To turn off an alarm that was accidentally snoozed, simply press any of the other buttons to deactivate the alarm for one day. More specifics are covered in our full product manual and FAQ documents here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/C85135#support
Purchased on Dec. 1st, 2020. It died on March 11, 2021. I'm crushed!, I really loved this clock!!!! Any ideas to "reset" or fix? Using the unit's power cord and know outlet is live. Hi Irene, assuming you mean change the color or function of the light alarm, unfortunately no. The light alarm is programmed to just be a white light that will gradually get brighter and brighter over time, easing you into the wake up process. As far as setting the alarm and its basic functions, this is covered starting at the 7:54 mark in this video, or on page 7 of your full manual here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/media/catalog/product/c/8/c85135_moodlight_022117.pdf -- Of course if you have any further questions, please just let us know.
Hello, I have always had one problem with this clock. It is always 4-3 minutes fast compared to every other clock I see. I’ve had it for about 4 years now. I try to change the time to the real time but it goes back to being 4-3 minutes fast again. How can I fix this?
It is not unusual for there to be some disparity between different clocks within your home. Our quartz clock movements, like the one in our C85135 alarm clock, have an industry standard tolerance of +/- 3 minutes per year. So if you set the clock correctly and it begins to creep away slower or faster than this expected tolorance, this is likely a problem. Our apologies for the trouble! First off, what is the model number of your alarm clock? This should be printed on the back or bottom of the main display.
Hi Joachim, we're truly sorry, but the FitFort alarm is not a product designed nor supported by La Crosse Technology or our family of brands. You may want to reach out to your supplier for more help with your item.
i can’t deactivate the alarms i set up i need help also, yes i did see the section where they explain how to turn it off but when i click on mine it doesn’t show me the full time, just the hour and when i press on it again, it doesn’t do anything, it just shows me the minutes.
Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the trouble. It sounds as though each time you’re trying to activate/deactivate your alarms you’re entering the alarm setting menu(s). From the main display, simply press (not hold) the respective LIGHT ALARM or SOUND ALARM button. This will bring up the time that alarm is set to go off at. When viewing this alarm time, press that LIGHT ALARM or SOUND ALARM button again to activate or deactivate the alarm, indicated by the alarm icon. These specific instructions can be found on page 9 of your full manual here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/media/catalog/product/c/8/c85135_moodlight_022117.pdf -- Of course, if you have any further trouble, please let us know.
C85135 vs C83117
The C85135 (used in this video) has an AUX port and uses AA batteries; which provide the ability to use basic clock functions. The C83117 does not have an AUX port and uses a CR2032 battery for backup purposes only. Beyond this, the two versions will function the same way.

Can you use music from phone as alarm ringtone?
Is it safe to keep the light on the entire night?!?!?!?
Yes indeed. The moodlight can safely be left on at all times.
Does it come with the auxiliary cord to play audio? Please respond.

Omg thank you! I was reading the instructions like wha- and I am so happy ya’ll made this video!
No problem! If you ever have any questions, please just let us know. :)

Didn't realize that the sounds timer is only up to 90 minutes.
Is there a way to allow to sounds to play indefinitely?
Cc Vela this is my question as well. I would like it to play all night.
Can you switch the beep noise of when you press every button
Unfortunately, no you cannot switch the beep noise. You can only turn the beep noise on or off for each button push. This is covered in your settings menu starting at the 1:48 mark in this video.
the sounds dont work or the Colors what do I do
Hello I have a question how can I set the mood light to different colors white my alarm to wake up in the morning
Unfortunately, with this and our similar C83117 model, white is the only color that will work for the wake up light alarm. Sorry for any inconvenience.
La Crosse Technology no problem
This was perfect for helping me figure out my alarm clock. It's better than the instructions!?😅
Sorry again for the trouble.
what can i do if i lost the power cord?
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. To place an order for the cord specifically, please reach out to our store directly at 608-785-7939 or via email at: store@lacrossetechnology.com
My clock keep saying am when its afternoon and it says pm when its morning please help
No worries! This can easily be fixed by resetting your time 12 hours ahead through your settings menu. When doing so, you'll see the AM switch to PM or vise versa. The Setting Menu instructions start at the 1:48 mark in this video.
La Crosse Technology thanks a lot
Can I play music through my charging cord also or just an aux cord
Also , is their a app that you can use to control this ?
Edit- Haha I had the wire plugged into AUX not the bottom. Lol. Nevermind it works for me
You guys should really specify that there is a plug in at the bottom of the clock as well as the aux, since the cord fits in both! Thank you.
I set it up, but I can't do the mood light at all. I have batteries to use the clock Please help me in doing this
Omgsh same
I have everything set up, the batteries in, and the cord plugged in, and it beeps when it powers on, but no matter how long I hold down the settings button, no settings appear. I'm frustrated and confused with this situation. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to fix this or if I just have to get it replaced. Im frustrated in particular because I opened it without thinking I'd need to return it and now I don't have the packaging in good condition.
How do I get the sound and light alarms to fade in? It says it does this in the instructions.
Helpful video!
@@lacrossetechnology Thank you! I will try that tonight!

The alarm clock doesn't work with only batteries in case there isn't light at my house?
Question is this device bluetooth
Unfortunately, no, this is not a bluetooth device. However, we do have a couple of alarms to do offer this function, they can be found on our website here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/time/alarm-clocks#special_features=bluetooth&gan_data=true
I have a question how can change the volume of bip , i cannot hear it the sound
I’m an idiot how do u turn off the alarm like when it goes off
Hi Madeline, any button besides the SNOOZE/LIGHT button will turn off a sounding alarm. The alarm will then remain active for the next time it is set to go off. The SNOOZE/LIGHT will put the alarm in Snooze Mode for the custom duration you set in the Settings Menu.
Is there a way to leave the sound on all night? Or is the longest that the light can stay on the 90 minutes timer?
Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience or confusion.
is it fine if I use a 2 side usb adapter to charge my alarm ?
First off, we just want to clarify that this alarm clock cannot be "charged" itself. Its many features require use of the provided power cord for constant power. As for charging other devices, such as mobile phones, the USB port provides a 1Amp maximum output, so splitting this may result in slower charge times or no charge output at all. Our recommendation would be to use the original USB charging cord provided with the device you wish to charge for the best results.
@@lacrossetechnology I tried using the 2 side usb cable and it worked ! its doing its job just if I used the normal adapter !
I've just opened mine and the screen lights up for about 10 seconds and then goes dark, the settings won't come up at all, no matter how long I hold the Set button for. I have it plugged in and have the batteries in. What should I do?
Mine turnes on for 10 seconds and goes dark but the setting work
I went back and swapped it for another one and this new one works perfectly, so if it's bothering you I'd return it and ask for a replacement. What I did was ask if I could test it out in the store before I left so I knew it worked and it did.
Thx will try
Does this product come with an aux cord?

Hi Jace, the seconds cannot be set directly, but should reset if you were to adjust your minutes in the settings menu.
How do I charge my Soluna light alarm clock
Hey Heartwill, we are truly sorry for any confusion, but the Soluna alarm clock must be powered via the provided power cord. It cannot be "charged" to run on a battery. However, the unit does have an included USB charging port which can charge external devices like cell phones. hey! this is helpful but mine doesn’t have the battery thing, it’s a bit different & randomly turned off like 5 mins ago.
I follow the direction you show in here but the light and sound and alarm still not working ... any advice to make it work??
Hi Bao, please make sure you have the item powered using the provided power cord. Battery power only will not allow many of this alarm's functions to work. Sorry for the troubles or any confusion.
It would be nice to set the light on a timer. I was hoping that's what the nap function was.
does the alarm still works even when there is a power outage but backup batteries are inserted?
Backup batteries in our C85135 Mood Light Alarm Clock model will help keep your time and settings saved, however, the batteries will not allow the colored mood light or alarm features to function. We apologize for any inconvenience.
after power outage non of the buttons working at all. correct time showing very bright. any suggestion?
Hey Morteza, sorry for the trouble! Let's try a few steps to see if we can get this corrected:

Can you set the aux audio to be the alarm
Ok, Thank You
It won't let mW set up the light
Are you powering your alarm with the provided power cord?
When my sound alarm goes off, the noise does not go off. I tried turning up the volume , but it does not help. What should I do?
The set button won't take me to the settings menu anymore.

Is there no option to set the light for a certain amount of time so it isn’t on when I sleep? Or does it not affect the battery if it’s on the whole night?
Hi Maggie, just to make sure we pass along the correct information, what is the model number of your alarm? This will be located on the bottom.
C83117

Hi, the aux port is a bit confusing for me (I’ve watched the video section and attempted it but it doesn’t work)
When I plug in my aux cord, then hit the SOUND button, it only plays the nature sounds, and not my music.
La Crosse Technology getting a different aux cord helped it work, thank you!!
Please try the following steps to help get this corrected:
