      That is highly unusual, and we apologize for the inconvenience. Have you tried installing a new set of regular alkaline batteries into the sensor? If so, and you are still experiencing potential problems, please reach out to our store directly to discuss a possible replacement. How do you mount this in an apartment setting? Stick on tape?

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  3 года назад

      Hey Ron, that's a great question! Apartment settings are tough and often offer limited options, but Command Strips could be a possible solution. We've also had users just place the sensor in-between the screen and outer part of a window. Just be sure the sensor is mounted vertically, secure, and in as much shade as possible to avoid high readings from the sun.

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  4 года назад

      Hey Noel, sorry for the trouble. This is often caused by under or over powered batteries. Please work through the following steps to try and get things corrected:
      1. Bring the outdoor sensor inside near the display and remove all batteries from both the display and sensor.
      2. Press any button on the display at least 25 times and leave both parts sitting without power for at least two hours.
      3. Start by powering up the outdoor sensor using two new alkaline batteries, then do the same for the weather station display. It is important to use regular alkaline batteries in both parts, as other battery types can cause problems. After a few moments you should begin to receive correct data on screen for both your indoor and outdoor readings.
      If you continue to experience issues after these steps, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page. Our apologies again for the inconvenience.

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  6 лет назад

      As long as it is out of direct sunlight you should be fine. If the sun hits the sensor directly, the outdoor readings on your station will likely be high.

    I set mine up today and did just as was instructed and the outdoor temp doesn't display. Also, do you have to always manually check the current weather temps? If so, which weather stations do you carry that are automatic display and nothing manual? I think I will be sending this one back. Model # WS-923OU-IT is what I have. Thank you.

      Hey Kountry, our apologies for the trouble with your outdoor sensor. Our first suggestion would be to perform a Basic Restart as covered in our instructions and other video here: bit.ly/basic_restart -- Be sure to use a new set of regular alkaline batteries in both the outdoor sensor and your display, other battery types may not allow the device to function correctly. In regards to your question about "current weather temps", we're not exactly sure what you mean. Once your outdoor sensor is able to connect with the display, this will always automatically show your current outdoor temperature. If you need any further assistance, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page.

    Hi there, mine unit isC:5049A-TX40U (at least I think that is model #) and the forecast is always wrong. It shows sunshine when it's raining, clouds when it's sunny and so forth and it never shows snow (maybe this model can't, I don't know). Is there anything I can do to fix the forecast on it? I just reset it and it's still the same.

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  4 года назад

      Hey Beverly, our apologies for any forecast icon trouble. Unfortunately, we do not recognize the model number you listed, and would need to know that in order to give any specifics. Our page here: bit.ly/model_number may help with locating this specific number and finding its product page on our website. In regards to your forecast icons, these are based on the station's barometric pressure reading. The icons are not necessarily designed to display your current weather, but more of a future prediction of your forecast to come in the next 12 hours. After setting up your station for the first time, these icons can act a little funny, which is why we recommend allowing 7-10 days for the station to acclimate to your location. And because weather can be a hard thing to predict, even for professionals, we cannot claim these to be 100% accurate. For most of our non-connected weather stations, these predictions fall between 60% and 80% accuracy. We apologize for any inconvenience.

    I have a WX911, older weather station. After fresh battery change for remote sensor and unit, and waiting several days to get all connections current I continue to register a value of 0F for indoor temp with no value for RH. External temp registers when in range and when placed indoors. Did the indoor sensor fail? Any ideas?

      Hi Laurie, for this we recommend trying a basic restart, you can find those steps in this video: bit.ly/LaxTech_BasicRestart -- However, if those steps still do not work, you likely have a bad sensor, which we'd be happy to replace. I have an older T83622, which I am replacing. I had mounted the sensor on a tree outside, but had trouble with rain and possibly very high humidity. Do I need to protect the newer sensors from very heavy rain? I live in Charleston, SC.

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  6 лет назад

      Hi Hank, though our thermo-hygro sensors are weather/water resistant, they are not waterproof. Because of this, we highly advise against mounting them in a location where constant rain contact can happen. But if this is the best location for you, we'd suggest looking into our Sensor Weather Shield: www.lacrossetechnology.com/925-1418-sensor-weather-shield as it will help keep it protected. Normally though, we recommend mounting our thermo-hygro sensors in a shaded location under an eave for best results, as stated in our video about it here: ruclips.net/video/uAQJpTZnbWA/видео.html

      I just received this new replacement, and everything is much more stable than the older T83622. Before I put the T83622 out to pasture, I have one last question about it. The LED screen is failing, dropping some 'pixels' possibly when the temperature changes in my house. Sometimes when the temperature warms a little, or if I press the screen, the pixels may return. The behavior is not predictable. Any suggestions ... or is it just time to retire it?

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  6 лет назад

      Hi Hank, if your screen is missing pixels, our first suggestion would be to perform a basic restart. This should set everything back to normal. You can find specific instructions in our video here: ruclips.net/video/INyApzZWe40/видео.html ... however, if this still doesn't fix the issue, please contact our support team here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/support/index/form/ and we'll do our best to get things running as they should. Sorry for the troubles.

      Hi Heather, sorry for the trouble. The RX on your display refers to the station itself, not your sensor. Please make sure to have fresh alkaline batteries installed in your display, as this icon will typically appear when they are under or over powered. As for your outdoor readings not showing up, please try a factory restart following these steps: bit.ly/LaxTech_BasicRestart -- If these should still prove unsuccessful, reach out to our support staff here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport and they will work to get you a new outdoor sensor if necessary. For this we'd recommend factory resetting your device following the steps in our video here: bit.ly/LaxTech_BasicRestart -- Please be sure to install a new set of reputable alkaline batteries inside both the display and sensor. Other battery types can sometimes have unexpected results. We recommend a new set of batteries as sometimes these can come over or under powered causing this error. If you're still having this issue after the reset and battery change, please reach out to our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport and they will be more than happy to help get this resolved.

    I bought the WS-9130 weather station years ago. transmitter TX37-IT has
    failed. I have the TX35-IT transmitter, but it cannot communicate with the
    station. How can I use this transmitter. Thanks.

      Hi Mehmet, unfortunately, not all sensors will be compatible with each display, even if they transmit at the same frequency. As the WS-9130 is an item made by our sister company La Crosse Technology - France, we suggest you reach out to them via email at contact@lacrossetechnology.fr for further assistance. We apologize for any inconvenience.
