Hi Daniel, we’re glad you liked the video. As for your forecast icons, these are based on the station's barometric pressure reading. The icons are not necessarily designed to display your current weather, but more of a future prediction of your forecast to come in the next 12 hours. After setting up your station for the first time, these icons can act a little funny, which is why we recommend allowing 7-10 days for the station to acclimate to your location. More information on these and your other weather station features can be found in your full manual here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/media/catalog/product/3/2/327-1417bw_manual_032018_1_.pdf - Of course if you have further questions, please just let us know.
I bought one of these , however the wind cups jam due to moister that has worn out the inside and the scews have rusted so I cannot undo the main part to attempt to fix it. So I would not recomend getting this product as it only lasted a year

Hi Bill, we're not quite sure what you mean by "center" of your screen, as the LCD elements are locked in place as per your station's design. Now, if you're not seeing any wind data, please see our restart video here: bit.ly/LaxTech_BasicRestart to see if you can get your sensor reconnected. Should these instructions still not provide a resolution, please get in touch with our support team here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/support/index/form/ and we will work with you should you need a replacement.
Hey Bernice, we are truly sorry for the trouble with your outdoor sensor. If you've followed our Basic Restart instructions covered in our video here: bit.ly/LaxTech_BasicRestart and the sensor will still not reconnect with a new set of alkaline batteries in both the display and sensor (other battery types should be avoided), please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page. We are here to help get this corrected and apologize for any inconvenience.
your video says to put in an open spot high on a pole, the instruction for Model 327-1417BW DC09118, says to put the wind sensor in the shade. You don't mention shade on the video and in order to have shade it will be buffered from the wind almost anywhere I put it.
Hi Anna, sorry for the confusion here! The sensor should indeed be mounted in an open area as instructed in this video. This was actually a typo in your Quick Start Guide and we thank you for bringing this to our attention. We'll be sure to get this corrected on our website and in any future printed version.
Hi Dennis, assuming you're using one of our multi-sensors with a provided wind vane (not shown in this video), you'll want to ensure the solar panel faces south for accurate wind direction measurements in the northern hemisphere. If you're in the southern hemisphere, make sure the solar panel is facing north. For further assistance, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook page.
Hey Connie, the weather station display can still be set up and used providing you with accurate indoor temperature and humidity, time and date information, and forecast data. However, without the use of the outdoor sensor, the 327-1417BW display will show dashes for the outdoor temperature and humidity, wind speed, and feels like sections. It sounds like a more basic weather station may be a better fit for your situation. You can check out our current lineup here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/collections/weather-stations -- For inquiries about a possible switch/refund, please reach out to our store directly at 608-785-7939 or via email at: store@lacrossetechnology.com -- We apologize for any inconvenience and are here to help if you should have any further questions. 😊
I use my 327-1417BW on a boat, i need the wind-rising alarm to wake me if a squall comes up in the night. Following the manual carefully i was able to turn on the high wind alarm to a default value of 16 kph, but can't change it. The manual says under Set Alerts: "3.Once activated, press and release the + or - to adjust the values." Instead + or - toggles the alert on or off. Just hate it when the manual and the device work differently! I need that wind alert up at 30 kph to be useful. Any ideas?
Hey Grant, our sincere apologies for the confusion. When in the Alerts Settings Menu, for the high wind speed alert, press the ALERTS button when the word ON is showing; this will bring you to the actual custom high wind speed alert setting adjustment, where you'll then use the +/- buttons to adjust and press the ALERTS button again to confirm. We hope this helps, but if you need further assistance, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page.

@5:05 = ohhhhhhhhh okay so THAT'S where those 4 screws come in handy! I bought a brand new LaCrosse Wind-Speed Weather Station (model #327-1414BW) recently, and inside the box were these 4 unidentified screws in a little baggie, with no mention of where or how to use them. Why make the customer chase down this random misc. piece of info on their own, which 95% of users probably won't do?
