Hey Stu, I wish it was that easy. I first need to find the right holding water and then hopefully I can entice a fish out. Some holding water looks very fishy and you get nothing and other times you can pull out 2 or 3. Thanks for the comment.
Awesome video is this part of the waimak easy to get too ? Me and my friend really want to do some trout fishing but cant find decent spots or just havent had any luck in general Cheers
Gday Aaron would you do a video for some of the new freshwater fishos on what kinds of places to look for on the braided NZ rivers? Might help with those people asking where you fish catch their own
Hi, I often start off with a Berkley T tail black and gold Minnow. The jig head in this video was a 1/12" but that can vary depending on water flow and depth of river.
@@canterburyfishingadventures cheers for the info m8 haven't had a crack at softbaits yet but keen to start having ago, hope u have the video rolling when u crack a salmon good luck
Loved seeing the care you take with your catch and release. Great job. Awesome video thanks! How far up the river are you fishing? Never fished the braids only the mouth for Kahawai
@@canterburyfishingadventures wow thats way lighter than I expected. Always wondered how to fish fast water with soft baits. was a great video to watch and learn.
@@yooooooooo459 Yep, it is often about the drift of the softbait. I could use a heavier jighead but because the water varies in depth due to so many braids, I just tend to stick to the 1/12" rather than having to change all the time.
Trout is about the only fish i fish for anymore. I hate catching bass theyre so boney. I hate catfish i just murder them for being catfish. I hate crappies cause you need 30 of them to have a meal.
Good video but shout yourself a windscreen mic mate. Especially in Canterbury.....
Awesome video. Really enjoyed it.😊
Thanks for the comment, Robert. There is more to come. 🎣
Another successful fishing trip for you. I'm amazed how easily you see to pull the trout out. Looking forward to the next video.
