Glad you like them!
They look like cobia. Same family? Awesomeness
Recently had the excitement of wading with a stingray and a couple of good kingfish on escort duty - on an Auckland beach! A drone would have been so good to track them down! Hope you do some more kingfish chasing.
Nice

First
A few true fisherman were fishing those ray rider fish at least 25 or more years back, and kept it quiet. Those kingfish now get thrashed. A lot are getting killed because an idiot with an ego blabbed about it on social media and on RUclips without understanding the fishery and singlehandedly changed the fishing and fish behavior drastically. It does not need any more exposure.
You can replace the species with any game fish. Before social media, people blamed tv and before tv people blamed magazines. My point is all fisheries will inevitably get pressured from some source. The best thing one can do is show how to handle the fish properly and enjoy the fishery.
@@oak8728 well said. I bet most of the people who were among those "true fisherman" visited and fished other spots around the country, and around the world, that they'd read about or seen footage of. It's the way of the world. Guide books about New Zealand fishing have been in existence for well over a century (Zane Grey anyone?) and then magazine articles, then early movies/videos now social media. The irony of someone criticising the trend while in the comments section of a RUclips video...
@@thor_6886 exactly! And indeed ironic.
The best we can do is make efforts to handle the fish with utmost care, being a guide to those watching. This sort of thing was not an option in print and can be a benefit to our current platforms and fisheries. I also think it’s important to call out those that aren’t doing so in their posts, videos etc. as this media lives on and impacts many people and fish for years to come. Same goes for hunting.
I get what you are saying. Those fishermen were locals and kept their mouths shut. There is something special about finding a fishing spot yourself and not from social media, something that is quickly being lost nowadays.
I’ve been watching for ages and just realized that I haven’t subscribed. That’s sorted.
Ditch the GoPro. Go for the DJI action cameras. Never overheated once and I live in oz. Never crashed. Zero problems. And they all link up together with the DJI app. Drone. Action cameras. Gimbal. All work seamlessly together.
Cheers mate
