In this video Dean DiMarzo walks us through the Yamaha Gigmaker Acoustic guitar package.
We compare the standard package to the deluxe package, and have sound samples of each being played. We also do a quick A/B comparison of each guitar side by side so you can get a good sense of the sound difference.
The guitars were recorded with a NTG-2 Rode microphone.

I wished they had left the red tortoise pickguard on the gigmaster kits. Something about the black pickguard really makes it look low end. Most of all Yamahas have the red tortoise pickguard that wrap around sound hole up to fret board
Good review. Thank you. They don't sound much different. My FD01 looks beautiful and sounds very nice. For $50.00 (just the guitar) I'm very happy.

I think you edited the video incorrectly. When you show the sound hole and badge of the “standard” it shows the FD01S The same badge as when you show the deluxe
I hope this didn’t sound negative. I really just got confused as I have the FD01S and I have always believed it to be solid too. Love it. Bought as a campfire guitar to travel with. Now I’m wondering which one I have lol
the fd01s is the solid top guitar you have the good one, i have the fd01 all lamínate, the S AFTER FD01 MEANS SOLID TOP@@joeleestevens7538
For a beginner who has never touched a guitar which one do you recommend?
Id' recommend the standard Gigmaker package - no reason not to save $50. That money would be better spent on a few guitar lessons to get started than a solid-top. Enjoy!

If you can afford it get the FG-830 I played one today and it's a great guitar!
