Also if you have the Russian CL gun, it's the best HE main gun, beating out the Belfast gun. Make sure you use it if you have it. (thanks to Minh-Duc NGUYEN for that)

Great videos! Excellent voice/sound and you explain things well. Gearing is one of most complex things about Azur Lane because there are so many choices, so I'm glad I have your videos to refer to. Some of the other youtubers you can hardly hear or understand. I needed to revamp my fleets for world 13 and these guides are hopefully going to help me get through it. I spent the past month leveling up Sandy, Swiftsure, and Seattle for the task. I've been playing for 11 months so I'm at the point where I can go for the best gear and ships. Plus, a few months ago I followed your excellent advice on gearing submarines and once I did, they started getting MVP a lot more because their damage output improved a lot. Kudos to you for your excellent sub gear video!

Hy i have a question, i have some CL ships that can equip a DD gun as main gun. Now im wondering, is it still better to equip a regular CL gun for those ships or should i chose the DD guns since they have a faster firing rate?

If you're in a world where survival is not an issue, then totally! If it's a harder stage like W12 or W13, then I'd probably swap out one of the oxy torps for a repair toolkit or some other aux gear that boosts survivability.

I would say
A main gun with HE artillery
Sec gun with AP Artillery
So the Ap would deal extra damage with the HE as the enemy burns
You could bring in Ayaya for trp dmg when enemy burns
Heyo, man. I'm new to the channel and also to the game. As this video came out a bit earlier than the Iris of Light and Dark rerun, I have a question about the infamous gun from Hard Mode D2 everyone has been farming. Is that actually the best for DD overall now? (Of course leaving aside if a DD needs even faster reload or a specific type of gun) Also, assuming no-life, so you would farm this to no end (I'm on the JP server, and Iris is in the War Archives), would you equip it on Battleships who use DD guns? And last, using the Wiki as reference, you only have 3 Hard Mode runs per day so... how do people farm these guns? Do events have unlimited Hard Mode runs contrary to the main story?
1. The Iris DD Gun, the .138mm, is by far the best DD gun with the highest damage output
2. I guess if you had enough of them, then yes, they could be used as secondaries for BB's with a DD Aux gun. This shouldn't really matter too much, since you won't see too much of a difference comparing an aux Twin .127mm to a .138mm, but the extra FP would be nice to have
3. And yes, event hard mode stages can be entered an unlimited amount of times unlike normal hard mode stages
@@ItsAnderYT Thank you very much for the fast reply. I've been watching a lot of your videos, specially related to equipment. I'm not too worried about Gold equipment yet, as doing Researches for Monarch is actually helping in earning BPs for prototypes anyway, but I'm using the purple equipment tips right now. Also, the biggest help has been about the zombie fleets. I was trying the new JP event earlier, and its SP3 has LV 80 fights, and they can tank them at LV 45+. A good crit sinks them, but they last a lot considered the disparity. I'm gonna use them to farm 7-2 to actually get gear to +10, while also leveling up some ships from the Tier list (gotta give some love to Essex and Centaur).

I was waiting for this video since most of my ships are Light cruisers. I never used the Cleveland guns, i was using the purple Bel-gun instead. I do have the Chapayev gun now though, and it's super strong! 😁
Shame this is a year ago so I may not be answered but. How do you differentiate He and Ap CL ships?
Heyo. I have another question: I noticed at least some (if not all) of the Full Barrage skills have been left to LV 1. I was wondering, is that just to save resources and use books on better skills that actually scale with levels, or could the Barrage cooldown interfere with weapon reload times? Also, I was reading in the comment how the Russian gun is the best in regard to HE ammos but, is there any other way to get it, or do we have to wait for a rerun of the event? I'm asking mostly because I'm not sure what to do with Tashkent at the moment.
By "Full Barrage", are you talking about the last red skill almost every vanguard has? Usually it goes by the name EX Barrage or All Out Assault. That skill cannot be leveled up, it is unlocked through limit breaking.
The Russian HE Light Cruiser gun cannot be obtained if you did not get it in the event, same goes for the Gold Russian DD gun that is used for Tashkent.
@@ItsAnderYT Yeah, I meant that All Out Assault. Believe it or not, I still have to get around any of those skills, so I've never noticed it's a locked LV 1 skill. XD About Tashkent, I was wondering about that because of her second skill, as it improves Main Gun efficiency for all Northern Parliament DDs with a faction gun. I would assume this includes herself as well, but I'm not 100% sure. In my case, would you give her the Baguette gun or the Belfast one?
@@LilithElessar Yes, Tashkent's Northern Parliament gun buff works on herself. This is why you would want to have a Northern Parliament gun equipped on her.
The two best options would then obviously have to be the Gold Russian Twin 130mm Main Gun (B-2LM), and if you don't have that, then the Single 130mm Main Gun is the next best.
If you have neither of those Russian guns, then the best gun for her would be the Gold Baguette gun, followed by the Gold Twin 127mm if you have none of the other options listed above.
(Btw, you can't put the Belfast gun on a DD, it's a Light Cruiser gun xD)
@@ItsAnderYT Uh, right. XD Too many names and categories... >.> I at least have a Gold Twin 127mm at the moment, and I'm trying to build a good fleet to farm the Baguette one. Too bad I started playing Azur Lane during the Russian event, but I was literally only building and randomly got not 1, but 2 Tashkent. I thought: "Man, this game is nice compared to FGO, let's switch over." Too late though, the event ended before that. XD Oh well, Baguette gun until they decide to rerun the event. Your choice. Purple baguette gun is better against heavy armor, but Tashkent gun will be much better against light/medium armor. I'd probably go with Tashkent russian gun.
(btw before someone comments, the "french" gun is actually Italian)
Correct me if I am wrong but isn't all CL that can equip DD gun like Sirius and Dido is better off to use DD guns instead? Same reason as to why equiping a CL gun to Z23 is a bad choice.
Oh, I didn't know they could also equip DD guns. You're totally correct though, if they can equip DD guns instead of CL guns, it is definitely better.
All Atlanta/Oakland class, Dido class, C class, plus Isuzu (after second LB) can equip DD gun in their main gun slot. Technically DD guns has better DPS on Light armor targets than CL guns though CL guns performs better vs Medium armor. DD gun is still preferable on DD/CL because Light armor enemies are like 70% of enemies in the game and they fires faster which means they will trigger barrages and skills that are triggered by firing more often. The only place where CL guns are preferable to DD guns is for the BB aux because CL guns has better burst damage and more likely to one shot suicide boats.
RP S Aren’t the enemies in World 13 heavily armoured so would you use a CL on Dido in that situation or would you still use the DD gun?
@@Lawson2394 You generally still want to use DD gun because:
- Light armor enemies are still very common and mediums are the duty for your CAs anyway or use torpedoes.
- DD guns shoots faster and triggers some skills as well as barrage more often.
The only place you prefer CL gun is on PvP when you are dealing with an opponent who has 3 CA vanguard.

Yeah, I can mention that. In general if there's a choice between DD or CL guns, go with the DD guns because they have a higher DPS.

Almost all of my Cleve class use the 150mm tbskc but my guild member says that i should use belgun or chapayev gun for them ... So what should i do :')

I'm just gonna leave my little rant here that loads of the nicknames, like "Belfast gun" or "Cleveland gun", annoy me to no end. Setting aside that they're turrets and not guns, I can understand why they're called after the ships that like to use them in-game, rather than the ships that actually used them historically. It still irks me greatly.
They should be called "Mogami turret" and "Narvik turret" respectively. Acceptable alternatives would be "Mikuma/Yamato turret" (yes, the Super Battleship, it was part of their secondary armament) and "Z23 turret".

Jintsu is one of the few CL that can use the single 150mm gun effectively, so better use the gold prototype and twin 150 on those who don't.

The twin 150 mm TbcSk gun is from Narvik-class dds aka 1936B-class destroyers like Z23 or Z25

It is bothering me so much...why do you call the twin 150mm guns the "Cleveland" gun? Is it some kind of reference I'm not in the loop about? That gun certainly isn't related to the Cleveland Class cruisers in any way (which were armed with triple 152mm guns and twin 127mm guns as secondaries) and that gun comes from Iron Blood crates anyways. If anything they should be called z23 guns, since the 1936A destroyers were armed with the Tbtsk C/36 in a twin mount like so.

Yeah, I'd say she'd rock Sandy's loadout. Of course the difference between the two is really big, but for AA purposes, Reno can get the job done!

Oh well, time for me to farm for Triple 152mm and Tabasco gun blueprints and put that instead.

Belguns are by no means a bad gun, so you shouldn't feel bad at all! If you aren't using them as a CL main gun they are also incredibly good as an aux gun for most battleships as well.

Oh okay. Seems that both Tabasco and Belguns are just as good despite the ammo and RLD time difference.
To be fair though, I only have a few Tabasco guns and they are mostly used as aux guns on BBs.
My Tech Box RNG are mostly cruel to me (Damn you Akashi and Shiranui for giving me a freaking gold crane when I opened a random T5 box).
I love how Sandy doesn't have half the torps stat of Jintsuu, but has nearly half of Swiftsure.

I'm unsure if this will help me or unless I'm still new to the game. Though, I heard Azur lane a lot in the past and I thought about downloading the game but I have poor devices at the time. So I didn't download or probably I was being cautious that my poor device would caused me crashed, slow performance (graphics or possibly something in my device like processor power) and lag (internet issue because I lived in another country now. But, thanks for the tips.
Also, still unsure if this tips will still be up to date because sometimes updates might ruin the guide and update the guide where the certain parts of the tips have been updated.
Last also, I laugh when you put sounds when you're starting to talk about San Diego because you haven't put any BGM(? Sound on the game for simplicity to explain).
Is belfast btr with the german torp or the normal ammo 1s
it's up to you, Belfast has no torpedo buffs
German torp does less damage and longer reload, but has tracking
Normal quintuple has more damage and less reload, but no tracking so they might miss

What are ur thoughts abt prototype triple 152mm
It's the BEST in slot for a Light Cruiser. All of the same stats as the normal Cleveland gun, but the added benefit for the Proto Triple 152mm is that the reload is a nice bit faster. If you have one, make sure to equip it immediately.

Yes! Without her retrofit she is... 2nd in AA! Which ofc, is her main thing. Ofc, she is by far weaker than if you had her completely retrofitted (You get buffs here and there and a VERY busted skill) and ofc an extra 100~AA.
Very viable even without retrofit but BOY when she's retrofitted she's an absolute monster.

@@Wsio. Forgot to mention (like Ander corrected himself on) Sandy can use Destroyer guns even without her retrofit which definitely helps with her FP. Her torp stats don't matter so dw about them.

I'm torn between Georgia or Kitakaze for which ship to grind for next. On one hand my Eagle Union ships are at a high enough level to grind out the later stages. On the other hand, I have Ibuki and Azuma that I can use to grind for Kitakaze that I also kick in Yubari to help out.
if it isn't going to conflict with your normal progression, I'd recommend speed grinding for Kitakaze. I used some JP cruisers (Noshiro, Jintsuu + Yuubari) along with some JP destroyers (Ayanami, Yukikaze) and I finished her in a couple of days. Since they're also good in exercises you can get a good amount of extra XP every day from that too to help out with your PR hustle.

San diego really high AA and she don't really need high performce air radar, compare isuzu or curclew her AA damage don't gain much from it. Set her high performce hydraulic or oxygen torpedo will better choice
With torp cruisers light jinnsut i don't recommend oxygen torp because they lack surviability. Set naval camo or high performce hydraulic is better choice. My noshiro do tank because i have ryuuhou and she have 15% base evasion rate
so is there any other non USS CL ship that excel at AA?

Dido and Sirius both have pretty solid AA as well.
Isuzu is the best in terms of AA. Now with the retrofit she is even better. She lacks dps though.

you can, but SG radar is most ideally suited for Battleships for the extra accuracy boost. you also only need 1 per team to get the ambush ability since it does not stack

Cl get a damage buff with AP??
Not a damage buff exactly, but they have a good damage multiplier (100% against light armor, 80% against medium armor, 60% against heavy armor). AP ammo is strong since it can hit multiple targets and because the shot fires fast, so CL's have one of the best multipliers that can take advantage of this.

raw theoretical damage, not equal theoretical damage. actually cleve land(tbsk) gun only better in the raw calculation but when you put in armor modifier in the calculation, a lot of guns are better. but due to their pattern combine with most play is on auto mode "tbsk" seems to have higher practical damage. tbsk or bel gun can be heated debatable among the veteran players.
but for me, I just slap whatever I have into the ship.

If you picked up reno from the last event i believe shes the next strongest AA CL thats readily available for us newer players. Ill be power leveling my reno to get ready for the end game levels. That being said. Yeah its be nice to have the sandy retro

Belfast gun, the Mogami class feel ofended.
@@karkovb1522 Its not even a prototype. The belfast guns is not in the game, sine the Prototype 152mm is from the Seattle class light cruisers. The Royal Navy 152mm guns are not in the game, or at least not the triple 152mm gun. The other 152mm gun avilable is the Helena class light cruisers and the other dual 152mm gun is fron the leander class light cruser. The only 152mm triple gun from the royal nave belongs to Neptune (since its derived from wows it only fires AP) so the triple 152mm HE shell turret from the royal navy doesnt exist. So there is no belfast gun in the game.

The "joy" of having a fully leveled, geared and 2 seperate copies of her to go... but that bloody microphone keeps you from fully retro-fitting...
Honestly if they just added it to core data as an item it would be great. No one would need to wait a couple months just for a one-week event ever again.

like belgun is actually a Japanese gun, used on ships like yamato (secondaries) and mogami (before they were converted to 203s)

Good video guides for equipment but he gets the names for the Ships the guns come off of wrong a LOT. Watched him call the Mogami Class 155mm Gun Turrets the 'Belfast' guns and every time I just keep laughing. Also laughed when I heard him call the 150mm German Naval gun the 'Cleveland' gun. Both amusing and wrong but at least you get to see the stuff that works best for your ships.
