Thank you for the Omaha Beach part of this week's video. My father was in the British Royal Engineers during World War 2, and he went through Arromanches on D-Day+25. He was originally scheduled to cross the Channel on D-Day+2, but that date was for some unknown reason changed to D-Day+25. If that change had not happened, I may well never have been born (1951). I visit France a lot, and when I drive back to the UK I always arrive early for the ferry and spend half an hour or so at the Belvedere on the cliffs above Arromanches beach. Sobering moments. Sobering thoughts. Keith J.
As a bored Toyota Land Cruiser guy, I was amazed at procedure for bedding in the newly fitted parking brake. Fantastic. Toyota know their customers are generally bored so they know after new parking brakes they will forget to take the hand brake off a few times, this is the equivalent of your procedure, it beds them in OK.
It makes me feel better knowing that even Christian made the mistake with the intake foam piece blocking the sunroof drain. I made that mistake last year and figured it out after my passenger floor was getting wet when it rained.
Guys I just bought a 2012 Disco 4, SVD6 diesel SE (143000kms) from my garage owner Son In Law. He bought it from the first owners who had suffered an engine failure. He got his mechanics to do a body off inspection of all systems and install a ‘new’ engine after they had pulled it apart, checked it closely and installed new timing chains etc just to be sure. After driving it for only a day or so I fell in love with it and threw my money at him - got a great Father in Law price too 😂 What a great driving car! What an awesome interior! I had my mind set on a Toyota Land Bruiser, and some years ago had a 2004 Nissan Patrol, neither drive as nicely as my ‘new to me’ Disco 4. I found your channel surfing the web for everything I could learn about my Disco 4 and have been binge watching it since. You two are AWESOME ❤ Christian I wish I had your skills but when I move back to Australia in the next 6-8 weeks and start driving my Disco every day I’ll certainly be buying the maintenance manual and a good computer fault detection device, as recommended by you, and start doing more of my own preventative maintenance/ oil changes etc - even if my SIL owns a garage. My current car is a 2015 Ford Ranger 3.0 XLT, I bought new, with the same Kms and is an utter POS in comparison. Ich Danke Ihnen Aus Australia!
As a Toyota Rav4 Driver the most technical thing I have yet done is find the bonnet ( or hood) release lever. I found it but as yet never had the occasion to have to use it. Watching you Landrover guys is fascinating to us, I think you are all a little loopy. Having said that it makes great viewing for us . There is an old English saying "there is always someone worse off than you" (Landrover Drivers) At least it is exciting, getting in to the Landrover and never being sure if you will ever get to your destination. They are very comfortable which is ideal when sitting waiting for the break down truck to arrive. I have in the past considered buy a Landrover , but when i get this urge I open my garage door and bang my head on the wall a few times and it soon passes. I hope you both keep up the good work as we Toyota drivers love it.
Congratulations on your anniversary ! 25 years not bad at all! I have been married for nearly 45 years. Several different wives but 45 years. Finally found one who loves Land Rovers ! A keeper for sure ! 😂
Good to see the Gruff continuing his excellent history tours. We were lucky enough to experience his historic knowledge when we were out in France this year too. Your truck is looking very smart, keep the silver letters the contrast is good👍and happy anniversary too❤
Every sunday morning i wake up, make a coffee and think lr time. We just got a land rover dealer last year around here, just starting to see em around here. That being said i dunno why i love this channel so much, but its awsome.
Congrats guys on the big 25. An achievement many will never see. I have an lr3 and a p38 Land Rover. I also own a Toyota 4 runner to make sure I can get to work to pay for the rovers. 🙄
Congratulations on reaching 25 years , must be the shared love of Land Rover ownership! So moving to see Omaha beach, can’t imagine the horror that both sides went through. So sad. Best wishes to you both.
A few months ago I wrote you to ask, if you could help me find a Disco4 (obviously a paid one). Your channel is amazing, and I still think and believe that you should be able to act as an advisor and give people a kind of service focused on the purchase of Land Rover cars with your knowledge. Congratulations on the channel!!!!
Absolutely loving the newer style of videos Vera/Christian. 😊 Sunday mornings in Scotland wouldn't be the same without them. I'm an Infiniti Q30(Mercedes GLA) driver and feel my life isn't complete without the trials and tribulations of Land Rover ownership. 👏🏻👍🏻😎🏴
I've given my failed disco 3 to a friend... Stuart, the landrover Ninja, from the Isle of Skye... I'm no longer a discovery owner, yet I can't ween myself off of your channel...🤣 Sundays just wouldn't be the same without you guys.... 👍 🤗
@@Vera_and_Christian please don’t get side steps, they are a rust trap and are of limited use, I have had to cut off several sets in the past, and they then leave your cill covers with holes in, horrible!
you guys are an amazing couple and are such a hoot ! the world is a better place because of you but I am puzzled , you should have 3 million subscribers , also , would be cool if you did a shop tour
Previous Disco 4 owner, one 3.0 tdv6 with the 8 speed ZF, needed an engine rebuild at 25000km as the oil return line failed, emptying itself of oil. Second D4 HSE SDV6, best 4x4 I owned. Sold it when the warranty ran out, not as mechanically minded as Christian. Now I own a landcruiser 200, change the oil every 10000kms haha. Set up for touring but no coffee machine! 😂 Wish I still owned my D4. Love the content!
The beach landings in Saving Private Ryan were filmed on the beaches of Wexford - not Waterford. Just saying. Makes a difference to us Yellowbellies. 😊 Happy Anniversary!
You are both inspirational people. Adopting your work ethic and ethos gets us off the couch and doing stuff we might otherwise wouldn’t do. Thank you both. The Overfinch models seem common in Chelsea along with the G-Wagon community. It seems so ridiculous that the London rich need such off-road capacity. I’ve never heard you mention the Mercedes G-Wagon!
Thank you for putting a smile on my face today. Happy Sunday and congratulations on your 25th wedding anniversary tomorrow. It is an amazing achievement and am really happy for you both.
Hi Vera and Christian Love watching your videos, thanks for all the content you create for us , and thank you Land Rover for all the problems you create and Christian repairs , Happy 25th anniversary to you both regards from Thailand Davy 🏴🇹🇭
Happy 25th! You two are such a great couple and do amazing work together. The LR4 is just absolutely gorgeous! What a great looking and driving car now. Perfection work as usual.
Not sure if anybody already mentioned this but to take out the side vents without pulling so hard on them (which may break the plastic lugs) is by using a long flathead screwdriver from the top (where the bonnet hinge is) to push down the top lugs. Most forward is easier than the back but not too bad. Congratulations on your anniversary!
Leave the chrome letters on the bonet, otherwise you should change every single chrome at the front, to match those black ones. Excellent job as always. I have planned a visit at these heroic beaches up at Noramndie. Thanks for being somehow informative.
Guten abend Christian & Vera 😊 Congratulations on your Silver wedding anniversary 🤩 So glad you’ve made it so this far 👍🏻 Lovely seeing the Queen 👸 in the sunshine ☀️ Have a fantastic anniversary love Stevie 😘 x🏴
Loved the introduction. All my vehicles have oil and other fluids that must be changed too. Disclaimer, they are not Toyotas. Torque wrench double clicking ensures the first click heard was not your wrist, elbow or shoulder. Of course this does not guarantee anything, it just makes one feel good unless the clicking happens to be your wrist, elbow or shoulder. Another acronym from the land-of-acronyms is "BAH" or BIG ASS HAMMER. See you next Sunday!
Oh my God, straight from watching Stretan to tuning into the dynamic LR duo. What could be better ❤️🏴 PS Happy Anniversary to you both, may it continue longer than a Toyota’s Drive Shaft 🎉

Nice video of that Disco it's amazing what you fixed on what others gave up on! Now you just have to tighten those hex nut and bolts now you have the right tools for the job!
Christian's sense of humor is on another level💀😹😹
really?
Typical German humour (for realz tho)
How many Toyota owners follow these guys. ? I admit I am a Toyota owner, but just love this channel,
Yes! One here. Former LR owner 😂
Lexus owner here.
I like how they can take the p1$$ in a friendly way. Here in Oz that's not always the case. LR owner here, used to work on 'Yotas.
Yep, me too, A new Prado after many LR test drives; I was not brave enough or mechanically minded and do not have Vera 😀
I’m a 60 year old Toyota owner in Australia that’s also a mechanic, I love this channel and I’m learning a lot, it’s really special.

Congratulations guys 25 years it's a great achievement
Especially for owners of landrovers, Toyota owners have an easier life, more time for romance 😂😂😂😂
Guys, you're literally couple of videos away from convincing my better half that buying Disco4 will not ruin our lives. Keep them coming!
😅💪🙋♀️
Go to the doctors surgery.
You get get tablets for that issue....
Lol they don't ruin your life but you do re think your priorities. Love them though.
Hey if you're able to repair snapped cranks, go for it!
It won't ruin your life, just your bank balance and sanity. Lol.

LR Time on a cool Sunday morning in Edinburgh.
Lucky you! Here in Trieste we got 38* 🥵
Happy anniversary to you both. You are both a ray of hope and sunshine and brilliantly funny. Many thanks from a former lr series 2 owner in Derby UK
Every enthusiast DIY mechanic needs a Vera. You're a very lucky man Christian.
I love the amount of Oh My God's too.
Love it 😂😊👍💯

One suggestion for longevity, on the bonnet, remove the "D", "I" and "Y" then follow the new instruction on the bonnet.
Good idea.
Congratulations you 2 on the anniversary we are among the few who have made it past 50 .
Congratulations. 🍾
