I just heard this song on my way home from work. The drums have always been the highlight of this song to me. Let's face it, how many of you can hold back from beating your steering wheel when this song comes on the radio? I sure can't, Great job. How long have you been playing ? Hearing you play gave me chills. I used to fantasize being able to play like that. I've played air drums to this and you gotta be in real good shape!!! I don't know how you do it! You are incredible! You got every beat. Your amazing and thank you for posting! Words can't express how much talent you hold in those drum sticks. I'm a big fan now👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
+gail jones Thank you so much for all those kind words! At this point in time I had been playing for about 6 years (compared to my current 15.5), though I haven't been able to do drum covers since, due to moving around and general lack of a good space and the proper equipment to put out a good product. Aside from all of that, though, it sounds like you have a good taste in music! :P
my dad was the drummer for molly hatchet from 1976-1990. love seeing other drummers play along just as well as he could and as i could. great work brother
Excellent Cover. You really know the tune. Very accurate palying. I have drummed this song many times in the past in my CR Band but to the accuracty to the cover as you do. It has been a while so I have been listening to the cover again trying to find where I need to turn the screw a bit. I am hoping to post one over the weekend. I play the high hat riff a bit different technically (not correct to the cover) but on time. Not as many beats off the h hat. Sounds close but thinking of changing it
try this then: don't think about the open, think about the close. treat it like double bass or something. dont think about having to raise your left foot when you push with your right, just think about alternating your feet pressing the pedals. with a little practice on that, you can learn to raise one foot when pressing the other, and that's all you hafta do to open the hi hat while hitting the bass.
@96renegademan eh, well...the problem is that it's triplet based, which is usually a secondary groove. if you practice hard it's possible, but it's definitely not the easiest song i've played.
@@HokieSnare Cool. I've looked all over for Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper and only found one of two but they were recorded in such a way that you can't really see what is going on very well. I like the way you shot this video so if you can tackle that one I would appreciate it very much and thanks for the quick reply.
Is he using the Bernard Purdie shuffle for some of this? I don't play the drums, but I've been learning about that. And it sounds like it to me a little bit.. Very good drummer here actually! When I say he... I mean the drummer for molly hatchet
I love the musicians that say their stuff sucks when the views and like / dislike ratio says otherwise.
Nothing wrong with this.
I forgot all about Molly Hatchet!
You nailed it dude!
Not an easy song to cover! Great job bro!

can play this song without mistakes, but im missing the most important thing, my hit-hat pedal broke :l
That was good. Good improv when needed but hit some parts dead on as well.
That was good idk what you mean by that sucked!

Wow that was an excellent job and I just realized this was fifteen years ago!! I found it because I was looking for a piano cover of this song
Can you say "rushing"?
And your better?
I think you overdid it a litlle with the fills. Otherwise, nice job.
Excellent!!!!!!!!
Great job.
