Good job gentlemen you have to love that Molly Hatchet triple lead I got to see them a couple times back in the day thanks for the memories LLB rocks
I was 16, driving around in my 1970 Nova, rocking out to Molly Hatchet on an 8 track player, over 6x9 Jensen Triaxials. Damn life was good! Great cover of this song!
Bet you wish you still had that Nova. Priced one lately? 😳
CHEERS!
I saw them in concert on this tour in 80 or 81 in Knoxville. Festival seating, great times. Details withheld so my kids never find out. lol
72 Nova, Panasonic cassette w equalizer and 6x9 Pioneers....best times..
@@jameslittle2882 Ah, perfect! 😎
'74 Plymouth Fury 4dr ... black, called it the bluesmobile.
Alpine, Molly Hatchet ...
they were mammoth at the time, lucky enough to catch them a few times ... first opening, then headlining.
Them boys partied 𝙀𝙋𝙄𝘾𝘼𝙇𝙇𝙔.
Most folks don't realize just how hard it is to produce a "good" cover of a song like this. There's a reason it's a classic. Awesome job just like always!
drums are damn near impossible not to mention the guitars and bass they're an insane band
Man, what a great cover of the Hatchet classic!
Rock and Roll the way it should be! That is by far not the easiest song to cover and get right.
Its also many tracks to get perfect. Vocals missed it here .... but vocals are the most unique. good job though.
Great cover. Vocals though not quite the same are more than good enough👏👏👏.
I'm 64 and listened to a lot of Molly Hatchet in the 70s and this is very impressive!
INDEED!!!
I'm the same age and these guys are awesome!
I'm 65 and love these boys. I shut my eyes and the time just slips away.........
🤘 Hey, I'm 64 Too. Listened to all those great southern rock bands....Allman Bros, Skynyrd, Hatchet, Outlaws, Tucker, Blackfoot, & the C.D.B. . Lots of props to L.L.B. for producing the three guitar attack , sounding note for note topped off by nailing the Danny Joe Brown esque vocals. Not to forget the thump'in rhythm section ( your "Stranglehold" rendition was equally stellar ). Thanks for keeping these classics and the memories alive.
Finally! Someone Older than me !
These Dudes are slaying it on this and StrangleHold!!
Love the Drummers Kit !! 🇺🇲
Tucker Wilson absolutely killed it on the drums 👏
OMG he sure did!
Yes, that was the next level!
And Tucker Carlson killed it on the Les Paul! 😂
Just playin… the drumming was without error, and fun af
Great job on the drums but could have used a mic on the cymbals!
This is without a doubt one of my favorite songs. Molly Hatchet had a way of making you bob your head, stamp your feet and air guitar like crazy. Seeing this song played to perfection is hard to grasp. Everything in this song from guitars, drums and vocals are amazing. Newcomers Stephan and Tucker fit in well with the veterans. You made my day again! This makes about 40 times! Thank you!
Got chills during the guitar solo. Glad to see they had three guitars like Molly Hatchet. As always with this band every single note is perfect and spot on.
Damn! Walking that bass like a stroll in the park, at night, on the bad side of town! You guys rocked it! 👍👍👍👍
He was all over it, note for note, just like from the album.
@@brucesmith9144 Randy rocks!
LLB does it again
Great Band so tight
That leftie guitar dude played the HELL outta that guitar!!! OMG
Watch him (stephan Laplante) in Two tickets to Paradise
Very well done LLB. Thanks for performing a Southern rock classic!! “It ain’t for everybody….”
This song is such an underrated masterpiece. A stroke of genius on nearly every musical level.
The bass line carries this tune more than you realize. Nice work to all .........
Banner Thomas. He was a hell of a bass player.
@@mikeflnAnd so is Randy👌🎶
Y'all didn't just make a home run. You knocked it over the moon! Thank You, Your performances are much appreciated.
Oh my goodness. Molly Hatchet. Unbelievable. ❤❤ SOUTHERN ROCK!!!!
Not Molly Hatchet!! They’re all deceased sadly! Loved them. Great guys. All of them!
you are correct - just a cover of a great MH song
@@LexingtonLabBand Great cover though!!
Southern Rock was huge in the 70s and early 80s. MH, Allman Bros, Outlaws, Marshall Tucker, Pure Prairie, Charlie Daniels, Mountain, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, 38 Special... the list goes on. Them songs are awesome!
I still regularly listen to southern Rock❤
Damn!!! Double damn and triple damn!!! I thought they couldn’t do better than “That Smell and You Got That Right”, but damn…. This is crazy. Every note and every riff… PERFECT!!! That’s some serious work to get to that level. Impressive!!!
This song never gets old, especially to us old country boys! Thank You LLB job well done!
This song perfectly describes our country right now.
You guys decided to tackle a "monster" with this one. Great job!
OMG......you guys just blew the damn doors off that tune. What a masterpiece!
Oh heck yeah!!!!! Did not see this coming. But, I'm sure glad it arrived. Wow, I've been listening to this album since it was released in 1979. I know this song inside and out. My only concern was the vocals. Danny Joe Brown had such a distinct sounding voice. Mike my man, you killed it. This has instantly become one of my L.L.B. favorites.
To all the performers involved. Bravo, you all were magnificent. Awesome performance.
I seldom listen to classic rock day-to-day anymore but watching all these LLB videos reminds me of what made me love rock and roll as a kid. So much talent on display!
OMG.... So many awesome performances. Roger, Randy and Stephan of course on the guitar, Oh Vandee with the lyrics, but Tucker Wilson on drums is so on fire....Awesome that he finds time to drop in on the skins.
That bass line riffing over the drums is next level good. I never noticed the bass in the original.
Bass and drums isolated. ruclips.net/video/CL_tEtTyh-s/видео.html
OMG, I’m back in 1981 when I was in HS. I had this album on cassette and would listen to it while skiing at Saddleback in Maine. I love the concentration on Randy’s face. Good job on vocals Vandee, I’m glad you didn’t try to go for the sound of Danny Joe Brown. But I think he would have been pleased, though.
Dude, you must have been rich! In '81 I was still playing 8-tracks!
@@georgiapatriot4575 I saved for that Walkman all summer. If I recall I got it from Service Merchandise.
@@SquireJethro I remember Service Merchandise! What a weird store. I grew up in Columbus, OH; not sure if SM was all over the midwest or a more regional thing.
@@arsbadmojo I'm not sure either. There was one about 10 miles from my home growing up in NH. Loved (drooled over) the catalog.
Seriously, LLB has become my favorite band for the music I love !
No disaster here!!!!!....PURE EXCELLENCE!!!!.....Good old classic rock and roll!!! Great job!!!!!
Graduated in 81 entered the service in 82, you know I was rocking this song!!! You guys absolutely killed it! 👊🏻🇺🇸
The drummer just got a standing ovation from me on this one!
That's one freaking long song for the guy with the sticks! Well done, sir! 👏👏👏👏👏
Perfection once again! 👏👏👏Seriously, is there any song or artist LLB can NOT perform to a 10/10 level?
You guys just took me to church! I grew up in Southern Georgia and this music is so much a part of my adolescence for five minutes and eleven seconds, you guys had me 16 years old again sitting on the tailgate of my truck with my lifelong friends drinking beers in the Hardees parking lot. The way you guys nail these covers is unbelievable. Much love to ya and thank you so much for the nostalgia. At 54 years old, this is a lifetime ago when life was so much simpler. Bless you and Cheers. I needed that!
Damn you guy's are better than the band that tours today calling themselves Molly Hatchet.
The most dangerous rock song of all time, because when it comes on when I'm driving, I turn into Ricky Bobby flying down the highway. Y'all nailed it!
"Shake and Bake" 😆
AGREE, It's easy to get a 70 in a 40 zone, easy..
😅ricky b. Same!
The drummer with the mullet was itching to play this one, wasn't he ;) PS: the bassist needs a raise, he is flying down those strings!
I’ve ran out of things say. Just blown away!
Molly Hatchet had very aggressive guitar solos and a unique sound. Great cover guys as always. Sadly all of the original members have passed away. I did hear that Danny Joe Brown got saved before he passed and that really blessed me. Thanks guys for all the great cover songs, STILL the best cover band on RUclips
Amen to THAT, brother! Glad to hear DJB got there! And that, from Jacksonville!
Absolutely, there's a video of what may have been DJB's last performance with Molly Hatchet whete he makes a public profession of his faith in Christ.
You know, I pray for musicians & entertainers' salvation quite often. The entertainment industry is a very dark environment.
I was glad to hear that too…I loved Danny Joe brown..
I heard that about DJB as well.
Praise God for salvation! ☝️
I'm a big Molly Hatchett fan, and these guys nailed it!!. The guitars and drums were perfect!!
Good jobs guys. As a drummer, I could never get this song down.
HA! you and me both!!!!
It's very tough to get it at max tempo.
I got my first gig because their drummer couldn't play this song.
One of the hardest to get right, especially those little hi-hat chirps in the breakdown. I don’t think I ever played it correctly all the way through. Buy that man a beer!
The best cover of this song that I’ve ever heard! Awesome guys!
They raised my blood pressure into the stratosphere with this one and I really scarf up Southern Rock and they really knocked it out of the park. Thanks so much guys~!!
Every time I play this one, I think....they ACED this one! Around 3:48 are the two guitars harmonizing....is that why it sounds so good?
Many speeding tickets when this gem comes on the radio. Great job!!!
As an older rocker, this came out at the tail end of a killer decade of rock. It had the punch and rhythm and lead riffs with a power drum set to keep up with the big boys.
“When we gamble with our time, we choose our destiny”
For the good, this is one of the most impactful rock lyrics I ever encountered in my life!
Another great job here LLB! Thank you!
You can tell this tune was right in their wheelhouse.
Most don't realize the insane amount of work and skill that goes into recording a tune, especially a complicated tune like this one. Those guitars sounded great and the tracks were clean AF. That's a big deal because live, a guitar player could slop their way through a tune like this and probably get away with it. In the studio, not so much. The microphone hears everything. Let's just say that a musician's first time in the studio can be a very humbling experience.
So, mad respect to all ya'll for the hard work and incredible skill that goes into making these video's and recordings.
Cheers!
Goosebumps. MH has been one of my favorite bands since I knew what music was. Thanks for this one, and stellar job as always! Do 'Dreams I'll Never See' next please :)
Yes
Dreams!! Great song!!
Dreams!! Great song!!
Dreams!! Great song!!
Wow. No doubt Molly Hatchet had some serious musicians in their ranks. And so does this band. Bravo!
I saw Molly Hatchet in a smokey little bar in Syracuse NY in the early 80s in their hayday and couldnt believe they were even playing there ! They were GREAT ! and so is this guys ! Thanks for the memories ! Once again, you all nailed it SOLID !
I’m a musician and a Molly Hatchet fan. This song is a deceptively difficult song to pull off live and you guys KILLED IT!!!! It gave me chill bumps listening to it
BURIED THE HATCHET ON THIS ONE!!! WOW, WOW, WOW!!! A Fricken Standing Ovation Again!!! Good Golly Miss Molly.
Aaahhhhh 70's 80's southern rock....still holds up KUDOS
You guys consistently just blow me away - all I can do is smile, clap, and shed a tear of joy every time - thank you for sharing your talents!
This song is a speeding ticket waiting to happen
Kicked so much I can't sit down, damn...like the southern accent too
Spot on guys! Grew up with this album. Everyone was great but, special love for the drummer. Didn't realize how hard that song was. Great job!
Excellent!
Now if that don't get your toe a Tappin', I don't know what will!! I saw these guys 3 or 4 times back in the 70's and 80's and they always rocked the house!! LLB gave this group the props that they deserve!! What an outstanding performance and arrangement!! Thanks for some great memories LLB!!!
This is one of "Those Songs" that bring back memories of warm summer nights, cruising in my 76 Chevy pickup with the windows down and the Pioneer stereo cranked up all the way.
For that situation this song is definitely on my top 10 list! Well done!
These legends strike perfection again. I swear you guys never miss! You may have been "Flirtin' with Disaster" but this performance was a total win.
Miss that Southern Rock!
Woo hoo I’m jumping on the Harley and doing 90 mile an hour donuts in the rain baby! Hatchet✊🏼
Left in awe ! Mouth wide open and my head just a bobbin with that amazing rhythm Molly Hatchet has to their songs and, like always , you guys kicked it’s a$$$$ !
I'll say it again. Whenever I see a new drop from LLB it always starts my day off perfectly! Roger and Stephan.... Wow! You just nailed the essence of 70's Southern rock! Well done Vandy as usual. I can remember buying this 8 track after being a fan from the MH debut album. This song was an instant classic. Thank you all for bringing it back and reminding us of how great it was. Long Live LLB!!
What a beautiful cover, you brought back a bunch of good memories for me. I actually met Danny Joe in the early 80's down at Jacksonville Beach one evening. I approached him and introduced myself and told him how much I enjoyed the songs he sang, and said I don't hate Jimmy Farrar, but he's no Danny Joe Brown. Danny laughed and said he appreciated me. We talked for a while then he went on his way. Danny was a really good dude who appreciated his fans. May D.J.B. rest in peace and Godspeed Jimmy Farrar.
Two songs I'd like to see you record is Ah, Leah by Donnie Iris and Mississippi Queen by Mountain. 2 of my fave's.
Is there anything you guys can’t play. Wow, another masterpiece! Well done 👏
Again WOW 🤩 as someone who has seen Molly Hatchet in concert several times, you guys did that song proud ! Great job 👏
Excellent great choice some Molly Hatchet you guys nailed it nice to see some new band members you made my Thursday keep them coming
I’m a Southern California boy born and raised. Several years after my mom and dad divorced, mom fell in love with a man who had ventured West from Gainesville, FL. I was 12. They married and my step dad introduced to me to everything Southern Rock. The Outlaws, The Allman Brothers Band, Marshall Tucker Band, and…. Molley Hatchet. Well done LLB! This cover brought back many memories!! 🎸
I don't know what to think about this..Real quality work for sure, even just as good as the original studio version
as good as they are. you can't be the same. I'm glad in lived in that era.
From a guy that grew up with Molly Hatchet and saw them live in Atlanta, the original line up, - I'm a huge fan and have been since 1979: You have my utmost respect. The older I get the easier it is to get emotional. You made me cry with happiness to know that those boys are still honored and revered today. This song personifies their dedication to their craft, their talent and their passion. It was a big, guitar sound. You nailed it. This video is a big deal. Keep rocking' boys!
so very true it's embarrassing to tear up over memories from a song
@@jimkerrigan1888 The older I get, the easier the tears flow. So many of my childhood heroes are gone. I suppose it's ok to let it go once in while. Good memories!
Southern Rock from its prime. Danny Joe Brown would be proud. This is how Rock lives on after the original performers are passed on.
I didn't even know how much I missed this song! Thank you.
Confess, have the CD. Once it starts playing, it's difficult to switch.
Amazing!! Just miss the whistles 😊
ROCK FREAKING SOLID. Very impressive. Lot's of talent in that band.
Yes limitless talents ✨✨✨✨
Well done,,,,,LOVE IT...vocals on spot and band killing it
Great drumming, God bless America! Keep them coming.
1000 thumbs up. I had flirtin with disaster painted on the back of my 1970 chevelle malibu when I was a senior in high school. I was able to see the band in concert and stood in the front row. You guys did an awsome job on this song. Thank you so much for all your hard work. Rock on
WOW!! are kidding me right now. You guys shred this one. RESPECT 🇺🇸🇺🇸
This was the first song I ever played live in front of an audience. High School talent show in 1981. We were kings that day.
LLB is so insanely talented that this looks easy. It's not easy and this is another great cover.
Freaking awesome! Every darn note is spot on!
Wow, taking me back to the early 80s. FANTASTIC job by all on this song. LLB is the BEST!!!! Thankful for your music to listen to.
Well done, all. Wonderful cover.
Met Duane Roland when he was in Southern Rock Allstars along with Jackson Spires (orig. drummer for Blackfoot) playing at a small bar in Minnesota.early to mid 2000s awesome people and concert Jimmy Farrar 2nd singer for Molly was singing.
Yippee!! That was fun!! I did miss the whistle but still a fantastic job all!
Gents, you already know it, but Spot On!!! Thanks for a travel down memory lane. Loved it!!
Excellent cover and great playing All !!
Y'all didn't do the whistle in the song!!!! Great cover!! I'm one of your biggest fans. I play your videos on my living room TV all the time.
No one can say you did a hatchet job on that one
Talented bunch of musicians. They do some great covers.
THANK YOU!!! You have no idea how many times I’ve wanted to request that you guys cover this!!! You’ve made my week!!! Danny Joe Brown is somewhere in the universe SMILING BIG!!!
Saw you guys a while back and didn't pay much attention. Boy was I a fool. I'll be watching now. Great job 👍👍👍👍👏
Kudos to everyone on a job well done, especially the drummer for nailing that deceptively difficult groove and those relentless fills. This song cooks and you guys were true to the original all the way!
Only negative comment--NO WHISTLE!!!!!
Yeah, I made the same comment. Lol. It's part of the song! Oh well....artistic license as they say......
Great job 👏
Having attended HS in the late 70s in Chattanooga, TN, this and other Southern Rock bands dominated the Camaro's and truck's radios/8 tracks and the more advanced cassette decks. Another great one LLB and these guitarists are just nailing the tone of the originals.
Great job, gents!! Another spectacular performance!! I dig Tucker's Buck Owens style kit and playing, of course!!!
Great job guys!!! Please take a listen to " Whatever You Want ", by Status Quo. This song right down your alley so to speak. Just give it a listen to. Thanks JG
Outstanding job! I saw MH back in the late 70’s multiple times, with Danny Joe Brown on the mic. Those guys really brought the guitars out and gave you your money’s worth. Awesome rockin band.
Absolutely, Incredibly, awesomely GREAT!!! Vocals, guitar tones, guitar playing, bass tone and those DRUMS!!!
WhooHoo, makes me want to light up a cigarette and crack a beer, damn that was perfection for sure. That was awesome!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!🤠
EXCELLENT, VERY TIGHT🙏❤😁 DRUM'S RIGHT ON BRO😁LOVE THAT RED WHITE AND BLUE KIT❤
