    I got this on an impulse and had told myself that I probably wouldn’t like it and would be returning it as it’s the most money I’ve ever spent on a pen, but alas…I fell in love. The ink seems a bit dry at times (I’m going to try a different one when this runs out), but what got me was the quality of the build - even the clip just works beautifully, gliding over my pen loop like butter and then locking in at that perfect length - and the size. It’s not comfortable for me for extended writing, but that’s fine as I use it with my pocket agenda and reserve long journaling to the lighter and more ergonomic Lamy Safari.

    Another great review. I like the Traveler pen - you can just imagine someone at the turn of the century, sitting on a steam train, or in a cafe with old brown furniture and frosted glass windows, scribbling notes into their worn leather notebook, with a pen like this. The manufacturer has also been clever in the way you can tinker with it a little. I think your comparison between the Traveler and the Kaweco Sport was really shrewd. This is the only problem I could see for the Traveler. The Kaweco Sport, is just such a fantastic pen - in my humble opinion, the best designed compact pen there is. Up against the Kaweco Sport, the Traveler, beautiful as it is, just looks a little overpriced to me. That said, to be fair, the Kaweco Sport leaves a lot of pens looking overpriced, so maybe I'm being a little unfair?

      Thanks so much for your kind words! I loved your onomatopoeic description. Could read it over and over again! To your last point: I don't think that the Traveler is overpriced against the Kaweco. The AL or Brass Sports cost pretty much the same. The Classic Sport is plastic, so can't really be compared.

    Thank you for this. I’ve been eyeing these brass travel / pocket fountain pens for forever. Finally bought the Kaweco brass after two years of fountain pens. Been wondering about the Traveler’s Company’s. The slimness of that grip might be a worry since I found kaweco’s grip a bit too slim for my hand which isn’t very big. We’ll see. Since my first pen from Traveler is coming soon. I can’t wait to review it. Thanks again for this!

    Hey scrively not counting price, i cant decide between this and the ystudio classic revolve. I need something for work i wouldnt be afraid of beating up and easy to open/close.

    I have the Kaweco Brass Fountain pen. Not a lot of Japanese pens about apart from the Pilots.

    Great review! I have both, the Traveler's Pen and the Kaweco Liliput. Both in brass, both lovely pens. Really similar. My Traveler's Pen is still very shiny, wait for the patina to appear.

      Thank you! Interesting - mine did patina fairly quickly.

      hey there, i’m debating between getting a kaweco liliput or a travelers pen. if you don’t mind me asking, which one do you prefer and why? thanks in advance!

    • @EwaldDieser
      @EwaldDieser 3 года назад +2

      @@macyng844 I like them both. The traveller's pen is better for quick notes because the Liliput needs to be unscrewed. But other than that both good. Some people don't like how the brass is getting dark after some time - but I like that.

    Thanks Scrively! I’m currently looking at a lot of these pocket pens. Can’t make my mind up. I really want a copper Schon DSGN Pocket Six but the cost to the UK is horrendous. 😀👍🏻

      I think this one or the Kaweco Sports is as good (and uncomplicated) as it can get tbh.

    That's a superb, little pen, without doubt. Smart design, in that you can opt for a carry cord with the loop atop the unit, or utiise the clip. Surprisingly long, when capped, but I wouldn't be able to use it uncapped - my hands are too large. I also like the 'used' patina finish on the brass - created entirely by one's own skin chemistry. It looks to be a delightful writer, too - I wonder if it comes in other nib sizes ? I shall investigate.
    Thank you, once again, for a fascinating & insightful review :)

      I also like it a lot. To my knowledge, it comes only with this Fine nib. Let me know if you find out something else. Thanks again for your kind words!

    My question is if it has a better converter than the one for kaweco sport, the piston converter for the sport is a joke.

    • @Scrivelynotes
      @Scrivelynotes  6 лет назад +1

      N Molina the pen does not come with a converter

      @@Scrivelynotes oh I mean a converter at all. Not that it comes with one but if one was available. Thanks for the review tho now I'm split and not sure which to get

      N Molina the easiest is probably to just refill a cartridge with a syringe. That’s at least what I do

    Great review - really interesting pen. Between the Kaweco Sport and the Traveler's Fountain pen - which do you prefer overall? Which has the wetter nib?

    • @Scrivelynotes
      @Scrivelynotes  6 лет назад +1

      I prefer the Kaweco Sport honestly. It is the more classy design and the section of the Sport is a bit thicker, which I prefer. Also, I can write the Sport for quick notes unposted more easily, which I find convenient. I would also say that the Sport is the wetter writer. Thanks for your kind words and comment!

    Scrively long time no see my Friend. Very interesting little pen indeed, looks well made and very robust glad to hear it is made in Japan.The pen and the travellers notebook are a perfect match for each other, which i think the pen was designed to compliment. Nice comparison between the king of pocket pens the Kaweco Sport but i prefer the Travel pen because of it's more vintage look. Thank you as always for another excellent review nice to see you again.

      Not that long :-). Just some days. Corporate live and other prios need me to decrease the frequency of reviews a little. But they will keep coming. Better less but keep it going. Aiming for like 2-3 a month. Thanks for tagging along!
