I mean it seems like two things here: 1. They could just buy money at the discount and keep him on the bench to sell him to falcons. They might have the same type of buyback contract that gamer legion and mouz had. 2. They didn't kick the Russians from the team just because they didn't want anything to do with Russia, it was part of it sure but more importantly the team just wasn't working with electronic as IGL and they needed to rebuild the team. I don't think so. Team cohesion is much more important than putting star players together. Navi wasn't perceived as a star studded team when they started. Their players are now more in the spotlight because they became more synchronized over time, and that's very difficult to achieve. A lot of orgs are trying to achieve that but fail miserably.
G2 bet the house on Niko and tried to change everything else around him, but as we've seen for years, Niko goes absent when the team needs him to step up in those clutch games, continuing their inconsistent form. Niko leaving might be the best thing that has happened to G2 in recent memory as they can actually rebuild rather than building around. Would suck to lose monesy though.
