Right?! It's also the closest we'll get to a Self-forged cyborg artificer so double love it there. And it's fitting for a magical tinkerer to see something another race is making exclusively from themselves and go "Yeah, I'm taking that."
Oh, I hadn't thought of that. Now I can't help but think of a human artificer attuning an armblade and getting those arm-swords that not-Deadpool had in X-Men Origins Wolverine.
Anvilwrought is a supernatural gift (feat taken at first level) from Theros. It basically let's any character become a warforged version of themselves.
the magic items in Eberron are a staple to some story villians, so as a dm please don't refuse to use them because they arne't in the dmg (yes this is an issue with some 5e groups apparently.)
Not all DMs own eberron, and personally unless the player himself can bring the book to sessions or lent it to me, im not allowing stuff i dont own, because i just dont feel comfortable with it. Also the world is the DM's creation and eberron is very different in flavor, aesthetic and tone from your typical d&d setting. Personally i love it. But its not like it fits well with every campaign, and the DM absolutely should have the freedom to rule it out.

If prosthetic Limb is a *_magic_* item and it *_functions identically to the body part it is replacing_* does that mean your unarmed strikes are magical too?
Unfortunately no, Kensei require it to be a Simple or Martial weapon that lacks the Heavy and Special properties. It counts as a *weapon*, but not a Simple or Martial one so RAW it doesn't work.
Sadly the common wands state that they add a +1 to "one damage roll" of the spell. Which would indicate that you always only get a plus 1 no matter how many dice or separate rolls the spell gets...
messypeter well, it’s only a common item. I’d homebrew advanced versions at higher rarities even dropping the first damage roll limit at around rare rarity. But everyone’s campaign is different. Something like that could break someone’s campaign and be perfectly fine in someone else’s.
Magic missile is only one damage roll. You only roll 1d4 and then apply that number and associated bonuses per each missile sent. There's an official ruling from jeremy crawford on it somewhere. But yeah, magic missile is only one damage roll
The additions in this game are made for my character I was theory crafting. He is an artificer with prosthetic arms and legs. He was going to use his spells via hidden functions to his prosthetics. (A knee canon, etc.) Which Artificers get the imbuement for prosthetic limbs. So say my right arm would be a magical limb imbued by my artificer. Which means my right arm would functionally be an unattachable unremovable magic focus.
So randomihs question but if someone found out which woods would impact which spell types in terms of damage could a fletcher with the knowledge use corresponding woods to make magical arrows the add some umphf to certain elemental effects? like You use Inari rosewood for an arrow shaft and Inari quartz for an arrowhead to give some arrows with a radiant effect some more kick
I've got a rules question: Multiple Prosthetic Limbs count as 1 magic item in regards to the number of magic items you can attune to, but they seem to still count as individual magic items in regards to the number of magic items you are attuned to. The Artificer's Soul of Artifice capstone grants +1 bonus to all saving throws for each magic item you are attuned to. So, RAW, would a level 20 Aarakocra Artificer be able to get +11 to all saving throws by replacing all of its limbs (2 wings, 2 arms, and 2 legs) with Prosthetic Limbs and attuning to 5 other magic items (Magic Item Master let's them attune to 6 magic items)? Edit: Make that +13 since that level of Artificer can ignore class and race restrictions on magic items (2 wand sheathes and a wand in each give 2 extra items to the count).
The problem I see with your edit is that even though you are replacing your arms, TECHNICALLY by RAW you are not a warforged so you wouldn't be able to attuned the wandsheaths
@@nykoelasmanning6643 High level Artificers can ignore all class and race restrictions on magic items. So the hypothetical level 20 Aarakocra Artficer could attune to the wand sheathes despite not being a Warforged.
Every DMs goal should be get the (hole) party to the end of the campaign if you approach items and magic items in that way you will see them as a function of that goal
Between the armblade and wand sheath you basically have a predator. You'd just need to reflavor the wand coming out of your shoulder instead of your hand.
For the glammerweave I think it should at least say it doesn't work on the same target in 24 hours. Maybe if it doesnt impress someone then it doesn't impress them but I think that doesn't mean it might not impress someone else.
Wait, what about the class feature variants? (The one im talking about is one that lets you get more monk weapons so long as they arent heavy, two handed, or special) Or does your group not allow UA?
Rocket Punch. Armblade looks nice! too bad it's restricted to Warforged though. Beholder crown... interesting but hoooboy no. Prestidigitation for 'normies'. incredibly useful sounding. Docent sounds interesting. Kind of like a scanner. whip seems interesting.
living armor seems really not worth it as a very rare item. your getting 3 resistances to some rather uncommon damage types from monsters and a +1 bonus to ac ontop of whatever armor it is... so at max your getting essentially a weird +1 full plate for basically a permanent nerf to your hit dice since no one in their right mind would choose the level of exhaustion... exhaustion is just way way to devastating. getting disadvantage on ALL ability checks is just ridiculous. ontop of the fact this thing uses up a attunement slot... like jesus christ man. MFW a ring of protection and a set of nonmagical full plate is genuinly better than a very rare item lmao. also prosthetic limb taking up a attunement slot at all is bullshit. It could be cool to add to your characters cosmetic look and backstory if it didn't take up attunement, as it is now it's just a bandaid till you can get greater restoration off
I'm really glad that you're taking your time to make this content man. I've been binging it for the past few days. One of the best d&d related channels
Love that artificers can ignore racial requirements for attunement now. Wand sheathe is going to be really useful for an artillerist.

*ROCKETO PAUNCH!!!!*
I literally kept screaming this at the screen
A little sour that it's "very rare" because it probably won't appear in any came of mine.

Living armor IS the armor not something you wear over armor in truth! It's just a trait you add to the armor like Vorpal or such.

Your point about the magic items also works for people that want to pick the book apart for their own settings.
gonna throw one of these into the game on Wednesday 😀
If prosthetic Limb is a *_magic_* item and it *_functions identically to the body part it is replacing_* does that mean your unarmed strikes are magical too?
Yes
Does that mean if you replace a bum leg your prosthetic also sucks?
@@pvrhye I think the body part in the description is not a reference to yours specifically, but rather the category of limb it's replacing
