I played bball and there was many people I disliked personally off the court but if they on my team and open I'm passing to them. I'm giving them high fives and backing them up if they get into it with anyone but off the court I'm not hanging out with them or talking to them because I don't like them but I know how to separate the two. This, if true taints the Sun's win even more, between the Refs, and the WNBA, and puts Smith's play into a context that devalues the game.
As for the increased "Fever Fan Base" Expanding Audience Demographics, which was sourced from the WNBA, Jul 18, 2024
Viewership among people of colour grew by 60% year-over-year. Hispanic and Black fan viewership increased by 96% and 67%, respectively.
Under-35 viewership saw a 124% increase, with young girls' viewership growing by 139%.

It’s all about attitude, people in all sports play against friends and family. In professional sports such as Rugby and soccer, no quarter is asked and non is given. One will want to win and put one over on them to have bragging rights. The W is at a cross roads, the new comers from college are competition ready, the W is a friends league with partners playing together and against each other. Outsiders are not welcomed. The newbies want to win, anybody giving up team plays or not competing at 100%+ is not wanted, and in professional sports are moved on or out. Loyalty to the team is number one. Time for the W to wake and smell the coffee.

Does the W offer mental health counseling? Serious question. It seemed after NS posted all of that “stuff” SHE became distracted. Unfocused. As recent as last season, she had game, at times very exciting to watch. I only saw small snippets of that player this year. I think she would have benefited from counseling/ a neutral place to talk it out.

Is there any other league - NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL - where you really have to be concerned with love interests with an opposing team member clouding an athlete's loyalty to his/her team?
What is the difference with the WNBA? Inappropriate relationships between coaches and players, players and players. I also know there have been incidents at the college level - Pokey Chatman comes to mind as one example.

If she is proven ( legally) of giving the other team less effort because of conflict meaning her girlfriend is on other team. The game had legal bets on a legal gambling board. She might think it was nothing but in reality she was throwing the games. I have watched other channels and seen her not reacting in her normal playing mode. In high school it's nothing but in professional sports it's not only an issue but illegal. She could be the Pete Rose of WNBA. Other league's involved in professional sports have gone pretty hard on what starts as being called slacking off but ends up as shaving points. After watching her 2 game highlights there are clear views of her not performing to the status of professional basketball player. This is what she is paid to do. Her job is to make every effort to get her team to win. If you sat her in a deposition and asked her to view this 1 interaction that shows her doing opposite of what her previous interactions then why. Look at every interaction during those 2 games and with the fact that she is a professional basketball player. Is she acting differently in regular playing or differently when interacting with a certain player or players on the opposing team. It's not just not trying but in reality it's throwing a game and I bet she does not even understand that. We see these players doing something on videos, like cheapshots and they deny it. They deny it because no one with authority says stop that's a cheapshot. People could file a complaint with the state that the betting company resides in and demand an investigation into pointshaving or throwing a game. Force the WNBA into doing something

What’s even crazier is women weren’t even supporting and invested in this league before it became about black versus white. They made about race and gender like they do everything and it’s bleeding into the sport of basketball. I’ll try to break it down in another way just in case you missed it. Basically, if you’re a fan of the WNBA, but if you’re not like a fan, how they want you to be a fan you gotta be cool with lesbianism. You gotta be cool with black lives matter and you have to be cool with or a part of showing blatant distain for white people. If you’re that type of fan, you’re good. But if you’re saying who just loves skill sex, love the game of basketball the game it played correctly with just a tiny sprinkle of showmanship and don’t bend the knee to all the DEI and political BS. They basically say they don’t want you to support the WNBA come to the game spend money on it unless you’re gonna be like that and critique them as players. Don’t get me started on the organization.

She can really only go to an expansion team. What team really wants to pick up a player that won’t play to her strengths if they have to face the Suns in the playoffs or elimination round, because her gf plays for them. If I were looking to sign her, I’d have to see how she played each time the fever played against the Suns.

Career ending choice. Who wants a player who thinks it’s ok to tank because she feels like it. Team competition has no place for fifth column players. Traitor isn’t a sought after skill set.

Hey nalyssa, don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out of Indiana! (and thanx for not making the Fever have to come up with a way of getting rid of you.)

I had not thought about it but relationships can be a conflict of interest. I think that the WNBA should ban dating other WNBA players. But the cat is out of the bag. I don't think that they can put the genie back into the bottle.

The situation saddens me. She was so good at the beginning of the season, but ever since Dijonai came out as a Caiilin Clark hater, she's contributed less and less with every game. She quit on the team, and apparently, without more information, she did it because Carrington got in her ear. Her two playoff games weren't just bad, they were ugly bad. She's too good a player not to have a career somewhere, but honestly, what team would want to commit serious resources to a player who quit on her team? And if this really was because of Carrington, geez, what a calculating, scheming, evil witch Carrington is. How much you want to bet Alyssa Smith's recent comments about Clark's fans were the result of having her teammate, Carrington in her ear?

Now she will fade back into anonymity. Never heard of her before Caitlin Clark and well no doubt go right back to invisibility.

This is no surprise, she was not a good fit for this team. We need more outside scorers on the team to take some pressure off Clark. You see how the Liberty play 5 shooters :)

I like Nalyssa Smith. She had moments of greatness this season and I was so hoping those moments would click with the team more prolifically. She was in a hard position and dealing with shot behavior at home off the court with her gf. Huge conflict of interest. Her heart did not seem to be into the game at times. But I have nothing negative to say about NS. She never showed nasty behavior that I recall. I feel bad for her and hope she gets on another team and is able to realize her dreams and potential.
