Only coming to Canada in an emergency where you can take advantage of the generous social programs and free medicare. There is a growing debate in Canada to end dual citizenship, so people who rarely if ever actually reside in Canada cannot swamp Canada's social services whenever there is some crisis in the world.

Don't begrudge him a safe harbor...millions around the world are scrambling for the very same thing. This is not a time for pettiness.
Welcome to Canada! Hey, while you are stuck in your room for a bit, here are some topics I would like to watch 1. How many passports have you gone through since travelling? Do you carry both a US and Canada passport? Advantages of being dual citizen (maybe drawbacks too) 2. What was your scariest experience ever? 3. Where in the world do you like camping? (I’m guessing Kauai) 4. What’s the lowest airfare price you ever paid? 5. Tips on how to deal with crisis (like being in a war torn country) 6. Where is the cheapest beach town you have ever been at? And that’s for starters. Stay safe.
Wow ... what an adventure! I had a similar airport situation once at DFW. American Airlines. Hope to NEVER fly with them again! By the time we got to the correct gate, they had sold our seats and we had to re-buy tickets and then take separate flights! I was a panicky mess by the time that was over. Then the flight back home ... they put us on a plane with only 10 people. When I inquired about that, I was told the plane had been out of service due to electrical issues. I was never more glad to be home! Stay safe up there and don't let the unicorn bite!

I'm glad you're safe and healthy amigo. Good choice going to Canada. Here in Los Angeles, California the healthcare system is so messed up. No one can get tested. All we do is stay in our dwellings trying to stay positive. I just clean my apartment, cook, read, and listen to music. It sounds nice and peaceful, but going to the market has become very stressful. One has to strategize where to go and what time to leave. Bizarre times. Cheers.

My crazy airport story was getting back from Panama on the day that I was supposed to, but what a surprise when I got there and noticed that there were more people waiting than usual because they were telling all tourists to get out of the country or risk getting stuck in the country for who knows how long. It was like a scene from a last flight out of a war zone. But we made it back...just in time!!!!
An australian family who stayed at the same hotel in thailand as me last week had all their flights cancelled, rebooked, booked a transfer to the airport, said goodbye and 2h later they returned, flight cancelled... reebooked and the next day, cancelled... we flew home and they are still stuck in thailand... situation is crazy

Obviously YOU are included in the opinion of "many Canadians". Lighten
up---more than likely Gabriel will not even need to avail himself of Canada's
health services. Don't begrudge him a safe harbor...millions around the world are scrambling for the very same thing. This is not a time for pettiness.
Good information in your video. Sounds like you made good timely decisions and I think your rationale for going to Canada makes sense. Good luck.
Welcome to Canada! Hey, while you are stuck in your room for a bit, here are some topics I would like to watch
1. How many passports have you gone through since travelling? Do you carry both a US and Canada passport? Advantages of being dual citizen (maybe drawbacks too)
2. What was your scariest experience ever?
3. Where in the world do you like camping? (I’m guessing Kauai)
4. What’s the lowest airfare price you ever paid?
5. Tips on how to deal with crisis (like being in a war torn country)
6. Where is the cheapest beach town you have ever been at?
And that’s for starters.
Stay safe.
Right on, I'll definitely be making some videos discussing those sorts of topics while I'm holed up.
Wow ... what an adventure!
Hi Gabriel, we’ve been following you for several years and we travelled a lot in the last six years, but stayed locally in the PNW area for a few years. You’re a very fortunate traveller with good travel karma. You were ahead of a lot of weather related issues. We checked in daily to be informed and share your great info. We’re so glad you came to Canada! We are very happy you followed your gut, and moved when necessary. Welcome to your other home our friend! Peace, Carl
Cool, thanks Carl.
Great stories. Thanks. Be well.
at least it will be a pleasant in BC now Spring is approaching take care buddy, miss your travels
Yeah that's the other thing, spring is on its way. If it was fall going into winter right now I probably would have made another choice.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos yes, and looks a nice part of the world BC, nice coast, and room to bug out.. just be safe pal,we all miss your food and beer tasting on your travels.. its buggered it for me going to Georgia(Tblisi)
I would say welcome to Canada Gabriel but I see you were born here. Welcome home! I guessed it was Canada in your last video. I'm also guessing Vancouver is where you are right now. Glad you are safe! If you are looking for some good hiking, I live in Powell River on the Sunshine Coast. Two ferry rides and a car ride or you can take Pacfic Coastal Air. 1/2 hour flight from Vancouver. It would be an honor to meet you if you make it up this way. You are an inspiration to many travelers including myself. Take care and be safe. Larry
Gabriel is probably in a little bit better spot then a lot of people. He travels so much that he probably doesn’t have a place that he has to pay a mortgage or steady rent on other then storage. Good luck, looking forward to more videos. Moved to Canada recently, best decision ever!
Arm now in la Jolla California sitting on the beach just got done surfing watching the flowers grow watching the dolphins watching the seals watching the whole world freak out over nothing Happy days p.s. think I'll go have a Corona with a burrito for dinner
Enjoy the surf and the Corona. I wish it were nothing but unfortunately it looks pretty serious. If it's all overhype and it doesn't get that bad then that will be great news and we can all go back to normal soon. I'm rooting for that outcome.
I’m curious why you didn’t go back home to family during this unicorn?
I think he said there was good Health Care in Canada! Might be a reason!!
The 1oregongirl Sparse population compared to States.
Stay away from family, keep them safe.
Got out of India just in time, safely home in North Carolina. Glad you're healthy and safe. Very much enjoyed your latest blog entry, passed it around to all my friends.
Crazy, enjoy being back home.
didnt realize you were from vancouver thats awesome have been watching your travels. I have been to many of the countries you have as well. Hope you get through this time and get back to the road again Awesome job. I like the eastern europe area and was interested in those countries romainia, bulgaria and hungary and most places in that region
Romania ? Bulgaria ?..just wondering...
Glad your okay Gabriel. Stay safe.
Good to hear you are safe and back in your home country, for sure Canada is the better choice now.
It’s crazy. I got back from E B C yesterday. One day later and I’d be there until I don’t know when.
Damn, sounds like you lucked out.
So Gabe, with all of your recent travels, in various countries (US, Mexico, Canada) and airports, do you think you might have gotten it and you're just one of those that are totally asymptomatic?
That was quite a story. Stay safe Gabe
got out of Amsterdam the day the European ban started (3/13) Very stressful..feel your pain...happy to be back in NYC
Very glad you're safe in Canada. That was some airport story! Hope the isolation period passes quickly for you.
One week down, another week to go.
I have just posted a "channel update in the current situation" video on my channel which you may find interesting. It was filmed on a shorr hike near my home and has great views. We are allowed out once a day to get exercise.
The gate changes happens all the time in Guadalajara and Mexico City airports. I had the same experience when I flew to Guadalajara last year.
Many of my clients just flew to Tijuana and then walked across the border. They then used my services to transport them home or flew the remaining leg of their trip out of SAN.
Just saw today 3/25 that the "gone with the Wynn's" are stuck in Fiji for at least 2 weeks because nothing going in or out of Tonga (their sailboat was pulled out there for the off season). They just heard that it may extend to 30 or 45 days if Tonga gets any more cases. Particularly troublesum for Tonga as they are still going thru a measles outbreak that started in October.
Thanks, I watched their video. They got so close to getting their boat in Tonga! How frustrating. And Fiji isn't cheap.
You are an experienced traveller and this sounds like a real nightmare. I can't imagine if someone is a novice at traveling abroad how hard it would be to cope. Glad you are safe.
Cheers.
We like to hear your experiences. It's so helpful to learn from it.
Prayers for you... Hang in there!
Thanks, same to you.
Thank you 🙏 sharing your experience & information! Stay safe!
An interesting story, not often I watch a video of somebody just talking in a hotel room, but I did this one and I should think being in Vancouver Canada is a pretty good spot to be right now, good as anyplace.
Glad you are safe. Stay healthy.
Gabriel I hold my heart when this thing will hit africa
Zeproo I worry about Africa. I hope all goes well there. Lagos really worries me. 🤞🏽🙏🏽
It's the cold virus...
I’m glad to see that you are safe. Be well!
Volaris did something similar to me too in Mexico City. Nearly missed my flight to Guatemala!
Just received your book in the mail today. Perfect timing since I'm home waiting out the storm. Thanks for the update, be well.
Very cool, enjoy the reading.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos thanks!
OK. So glad u are safe and sound in Canada....Time passing quickly. Yes It's A little scary all around theWorld....I will look forward to your latest video..much love Jeannie🦋💕
U cute
You must be feeling like a bee inside a jar by now. Always on the go and constantly moving perhaps this isolation will charge up your batteries to full power and send you to unknown journeys in the near future.
My mom was in Guadalajara until March 20, right before they closed the border. Luckily she's home here in california now.
I think I know what establishment you are staying at as well. It remind me when I was there in Canada in Vancouver in 2016. Stay safe, but don't panic.
Be safe. Always enjoy your creations!
Wow, good job getting out of there in time.
Wow, that is so harsh.
Stay safe, man. Your fellow travel vlogger is stuck in Russia, I've to learn Russian quick 😂
In russia they drink hand sanitiser.
not a bad place to be.
@@EinkOLED I haven't seen that yet 😂
@@MRwhiteowlss, Russia is cool and most families grow their own vegetables
I'm a travel vlogger also just got my visa to Russia and hope to come this summer. I've subbed to your channel. I'd love to pick your brain about it. Check out my channel and please sub to me also if you feel so led. I also love your accent, btw....
Glad you are ok and in an ok place.
Thanks Gabriel. I guessed you were in Canada. Stay safe, and thanks for the warning. Cancelled our own travel plans... country to have been visited is closing the hotels. Glad to be home in the USA.
I almost got stuck too, Gabe. I left 2 days before they closed the border with Mexico.
The border is officially closed now? Glad I left in time.
Wow - running back and forth along the very long concourses of the airport with time expiring. No wonder you remain thin, Gabriel!
Glad you are back here! Cases are on the rise here, but definitely less cases than the US. Safe travels....who knows when that will be though!
You look the picture of health, glad for you!
Thanks a lot.
I hope the virus ends as soon as possible, and we'll see more of Gabriel's new video from the tours
Me too.
