As a nurse in SNF, I’m soooo glad I stumbled upon this channel. You have been so helpful in how to go about things. Always nice to have refreshers and a very straightforward way of getting things done.

Oh man I loved this thank you! I have been to two difference nursing homes for clinicals and I truly am thinking of working at one. I absolutely love the patients and love working with the elderly and I would want to advocate for them because many of them need it! Thanks for the wound care advice we have not done that yet but I was able to put a bandage on a pressure ulcer on a ladies heel with my instructor.

Great! Nursing Homes need good nurses. That’s something I’m very passionate about. Those are really good motives you have for wanting to work in LTC 💕

How do you get the Tegaderm off when you have to change it, without ripping the skin again?

Hi Jenny! The tegaderm absorb is a little different than traditional tegaderm. The middle of it is not really adhesive, just the perimeter. There is adhesive remover that can help and if you don’t have that you can use skin prep. It’s also a good idea to draw an arrow in the direction of the flap so you know which way to remove the dressing so the flap isn’t pulled away.
