Loved this! I know it's from 5 yrs ago but you answered the questions I had about guppy breeding strains etc. I'm most interested in breeding fancy guppies... among other things 😉 I'm inhaling all the info I can on small, like 2-tank breeding operations with guppies and basically whatever will go with guppies. Including plants. I'm lining things up slowly. Very slowly. I'm trying to be patient and not spend much money because my husband is already not thrilled with having TWO tanks 😅😅😅🤷♀️😊 so I'm gonna make the most of it. I'm running 2 Aquarium co-op filters in a 50-gallon with a bunch of cories and guppies and a pleco, a bunch of annubias, buce, swords, crypts, java windelov, java moss, jungle val... all slowly growing in, as well as a synodontis that will be moving soon lol. Love it, but it's eating my fry 😋 My other is a 29g planted with hairgrass, water sprite (?), java moss, and windelov and a nice cave. I have wood and rock and sand in both tanks. I can't decide what I want to do in the 29g. I can't decide if I'm going to move the guppies to the 29g. Lmao 😅 Forgive me. I digress. 😅 Carry on! While I go inhale more content!!!
Lol. How did you convince your hubs of a second tank? I had to argue long and hard why I needed a 10 gallon just for quarantine and I think he'd kill me if I just kept it set up on the breakfast bar. Lol. I've been trying to convince him to let me get fish for years and he finally caved. Lol.
Love these videos. Want me and my 8 year old to start keeping Guppies. Slow setup but I want him to understand each step in the process of it all instead of just slapping it all together quickly. Thanks for all these great videos to learn from.
😄 The Cory Fishroom and Hobbyists style videos are back!!!! Absolutely. .... These kind of videos you do I could watch for hours👍👍👍 ...hopefully you got the Guppy Cull to the turtles. 👍 Love how you are showing people culling...its the most important thing about breeding.
Like ShortNAnxious said, I don't typically kill my guppies, I remove them from the group and keep them with say turtles, or even just another aquarium depending on what was wrong with them.
Hi from Auatralia Cory, I just love the way you get to the point, hate listening to people that just woft on.. Thank you for all you do, you are such a hard worker, Regards Annemieke
Great video Cory. I really am enjoying your guppy videos. I've kept many different fish in the past but I've just recently gotten into guppies because they are really fun to watch and breed. My main focus is on the albino koi guppy strain and I'm trying to fill my approximately 140gallon tank with them. Started of with 5 females and 5 males. It'll take some time to fill the tank up but I just got a female that gave birth to 20 fry so I'm looking forward to it. Keep up the great work!
Congrats on winning those Koi's Cory! Hope to see more of them in upcoming videos. Maybe one day I'll send you videos of my tanks so that you and your viewers can check them out :)
To be fair, most of my culls live out their lives with the turtles. I keep the turtles well fed enough that they are too lazy to hunt really. At least the mini musks. The larger turtles for sure will eat stuff.
Loving these videos a lot Cory! I "accidentally" breed goldfish as a kid and nothing much happened with it. It's cool to see the work you are supposed to put into it when you are trying to do something. I think it'll be helpful when I play with Angels this year.
I really enjoyed this video, the whole process of selecting the fish, finding the traits you want to breed, to get the strain you want is very informative and fascinating. Would really enjoy more videos like this
Year of the livebeaers! Thanks for sharing your cull process. I'm hoping to try guppies this spring outside as a side project to learn more about genetics. How often would you cull?
love these videos, all have been very helpful with what direction i should go with my tank. I will be stopping by your store on saturday and im excited to see it in person!!
This is an awesome video showing how you separate guppies. Now I have a better view as to how I'm going to choose guppies to breed. Thanks for the video cory!
What did I like about this episode? I liked everything, I like the dwarf cichlids (at least I think that's what they are). Also congrats on the baby plecos!
Love Guppies but until I cleaned my small power head (going to get bubble sponges next week), I never realised how playful Minnos are. Lovely little fish, swimming against the tide and driving into the bubbles it makes.
Enjoyed your video and how you share your love and knowelege of fish. I am just beginning my journey with my fancy guppies. Love them. I agree spend some time with your fish. Just noticed we have some babies. Yipee!
I didn't see this coming, but this year for the first time in 45 years I have Guppies! I didn't see the excitement and attachment I feel coming from them. I just got extra fancy Guppies, whatever that means and because I could I went with these gorgeous yellow fish. They are happy go lucky Guppies, like my dog who I call the High Speed Optomist. Jazz loves to come check them out, so do I LOL. All of this stuff that is trying to kill me, is getting put in the back seat and for the first time in two years, I feel optimistic.
I'm so glad this video popped up. New to fish keeping. My guppies I bought were pregnant and now I have babies but I can't wait to breed some on purpose lol.
I really like these fishroom videos. Lately I don't have so much time to watch your live stream videos (I can't watch them live - I'm from Europe) so I preffer shorter, more 'action' videos :) Have a nice day.
Love the content of your videos......ONE OF MY FAVS!!!!!!!!!!! You have noooooo idea how much I wish I lived near you and your shop!!!!!! Just for reference...I live in central IL.. In the hobby...my favorite time was when I lived in the South SF Bay area of Cali....THE BEST Aquarium Shops I ever experienced. You're shop is totally...ON PAR!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!! Maybe when I retire.....WASHINGTON!!!!!! LOL!!! As a critic though......wayyyy too much background audio noise!!!!!! I have no idea what the answer is.....Talk to Joey!!!!! He knows!!!!!
Hey Aquarium Co-op, just an idea as I have not yet had too much experience with it, try getting split peas and grinding them into a powder? It's good for helping relieve fish of some swimbladder issues, as well as bloat and constipation in fish.
Best fish in the hobby! Beautiful and cheap. I can make a living from the sale of guppy’s. If you have a lot of aquariums you can make a lot of money with them.
Jason, super cool guppies. I had some guppies back in 2006 - 2010. They multiplied very quickly!! I don't remember having that many choices as I see today on the internet. The net was still very new, Think I was using a web TV. I like the Tuxedo Guppies do you have any of those?
Cory I got a bone to pick with you.... your easy green should come with a warning label.. I got to many plants that I don't know what to do with them... lol... love your easy green....
I think I fairly warn people. I tell people in every video I talk about plants, how plants grow too fast and are a hassle. This is why I don't do big aquascaped tanks because if you do it right, it's always pruning. :P
+Ben I have, but my research shows me it'll be less efficient than what I'm currently doing. The problem is when I shoot videos and put water on the floor. The humidity rises. However yesterday when not filming and working humidity was 35%
Hi. Your videos are great and because of that I decided to get a small 5 gallons aquarium myself. I have 2 gruppies (1 male, 1 female), 1 cherry shrimp and 1 small pleco. I didn't realized when I bought them, but the female gruppy is pregnant and the male I have keeps pestering her. So I read around and thought it was a good idea to get a breeding box. The one I got is with a mesh. Then I was keeping reading on the same topic and some people said it was bad to put the female in a breeder box due to increased stress. So now I'm lost and confused and not sure what to do anymore. Should I keep her there or remove her? She's been in there for 2 days now and her belly is getting big and squarish. I would assume she'll be due soon, but I'm a newbie and this is my 1st aquarium. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

What kind of gups were those? Red bronze? Albino full reds? Flamingos? I have female guppies that look like those and they had fry which are about a month old now and the males are just blonde/bronze with red tails as well but not full red...
Got a female with mostly black tail with a faint gold snakeskin in the middle and 2 males with black borders on the tails with a mix of yellow orange and blue in the middle and body hoping te fry comes out nicely
And a hundred odd in a barrel outside plus some in family's tanks to mix and match colour and bloodlines am aiming for a nice dark body and fins color on a female and try for blue and gold snakeskin on a black background for male
Did the Ancistrus Claro Pleco babies survive??? I believe Ancistrus claro could be the next big thing in fish keeping. They are slightly smaller than other bristlenose plecos, so casual hobbies with smaller tanks could keep them & less aggressive so you can more than one male in the tank. Bluegrass Aquatics is currently selling tank raised Ancistrus claro for $119. I wish to God I could afford that, but I can't, so I hope the price comes down soon.
So their are little white specs in the tank with one female and two males and one fish thats going to go live with the turtles. So are the white specs just poop or whatever or is it brine shrimp?
Also, I commented on another video asking what those mouth brooders are, but I finally found it on google after you mentioned it in this video. Do you sell any Cyprichromis?
I currently buy my Fancy Guppies here: twincitiesguppies.com use my affiliate code: *aquariumcoop* to save 5%.
Do u need live plants to breed neon tetras or can u use artificial
My uncle tells me he’s gonna send me to live with the turtles 😔
Must be a fish guy!
Gg
I would love to spend a day in a fish room like that...I probably would never leave...i didn't want your video to end

From now on, I'm going to use the metaphor "he/she has gone to live with the turtles".
haha best thing ever
Vicki K mine go to the "crawfish tank" to retire
Yep!!😂 Gone to live with the Turtles is awesome!
Love these videos. Want me and my 8 year old to start keeping Guppies. Slow setup but I want him to understand each step in the process of it all instead of just slapping it all together quickly. Thanks for all these great videos to learn from.
You know I used to not mind duckweed but it becomes a pain in the ass when your trying to sort stuff out.
I never knew my plain hobby of fish breeding can turn into a little bit of a Fish Reich.
Rick Sanchez hiel Ze goopy
My first thought after he said “Gotta keep the genes pure! Ho ho ho!”
😄 The Cory Fishroom and Hobbyists style videos are back!!!! Absolutely. .... These kind of videos you do I could watch for hours👍👍👍
...hopefully you got the Guppy Cull to the turtles.
👍 Love how you are showing people culling...its the most important thing about breeding.
Ditto to what ShortNanxious said!
ShortNanxious it's kill not cull
Culling out of the breeding group means to remove it from the group...how you do it is up to you.
Like ShortNAnxious said, I don't typically kill my guppies, I remove them from the group and keep them with say turtles, or even just another aquarium depending on what was wrong with them.
can you give me some guppies of yours? i realy love guppies.here in philippines gupies are cross breed with native guppies.
Your picking technique makes since and you made it easy to understand.
I get excited when I find new babies too rather Guppy or Cory cats
Hi from Auatralia Cory, I just love the way you get to the point, hate listening to people that just woft on.. Thank you for all you do, you are such a hard worker, Regards Annemieke
What do I like about your video, everything from the start to the finish ! Living vicariously through you!
Great!
I want a colony too!
Thumbs up Cory!
Can't wait till you start selling online !!

+CW Aquariums nice, reminds me I need to check and see if I won the aquabid auction for some of those.
Congrats on winning those Koi's Cory! Hope to see more of them in upcoming videos. Maybe one day I'll send you videos of my tanks so that you and your viewers can check them out :)
"Needs to visit the turtles" omg 😂
Great video - lots of good instruction on picking out breeding stock. Nice lil pleco babies.
Lol almost make it sound like some fairytale land "gotta catch this so it can go and visit the turtles" I love it haha
To be fair, most of my culls live out their lives with the turtles. I keep the turtles well fed enough that they are too lazy to hunt really. At least the mini musks. The larger turtles for sure will eat stuff.
@@AquariumCoop they dont have an appetite for guppy?
You are so helpful and honest as well as relatable!

I always enjoy watching your videos. I started up three 15 gallon tanks because of you! Can't wait to put some neocaridinas in soon.
love these videos, all have been very helpful with what direction i should go with my tank. I will be stopping by your store on saturday and im excited to see it in person!!
Awesome, I'll only be around a bit on Saturday. I have to do an airport run in the morning and deliver plants etc. Maybe I"ll see ya.
What type of moss is in that tank at 12:45? Looks great!
I enjoyed the video very much! Love seeing another persons fish room! Great job on breeding the Plecos! Glad I found your channel!
Welcome Aboard.
Love this video Cory! Interesting to see your process and how you "grade" fish so to speak.
Love Guppies but until I cleaned my small power head (going to get bubble sponges next week), I never realised how playful Minnos are. Lovely little fish, swimming against the tide and driving into the bubbles it makes.
I enjoy any content you make Cory, I just like you as a person. Also congrats on the baby plecos.
Great insight Cory, I liked how you went over your selection process. Thanks for sharing!
love it when you talk about live-bearers I do mostly mollies but thinking of getting into fancy guppies
I love the red guppies!
Thank you so much for posting all of these videos. They have been very helpful so far, and I'll look forward to watching more in the future!
cyprichromis and tropheus are a classic pair, they'll make short work of the algae in the cyp tank if you've considered that whilst growing them out
been watching your videos for a while and for some reason just subscribed. love your videos man
Enjoyed your video and how you share your love and knowelege of fish. I am just beginning my journey with my fancy guppies. Love them. I agree spend some time with your fish. Just noticed we have some babies. Yipee!
great, greetings from Borneo Balikpapan, thank you for the knowledge, always success
We need more Guppy Videos! Really enjoyed the video. Also, how has the aggression been with the Tropheus?
No problems with aggression that i've seen.
Congratulations on the babies

Do you sell any white platinum dumbo ear betta plaketts??
That's a long name haha!
+Danny's Aquariums we don't have pure white ones.
ahhhh....this is the style of vid I enjoy just mucking in the fish room!!!!
I really like these fishroom videos. Lately I don't have so much time to watch your live stream videos (I can't watch them live - I'm from Europe) so I preffer shorter, more 'action' videos :) Have a nice day.

Nice on the pleco fry!! I'll have to try your method for selectively breeding your guppy colony
Hey Aquarium Co-op, just an idea as I have not yet had too much experience with it, try getting split peas and grinding them into a powder? It's good for helping relieve fish of some swimbladder issues, as well as bloat and constipation in fish.
Awesome video! I am part of the colony breeders club!
Very cool vid. I’d like to see how you choose other fish for breeding as well. Thanks and keep up the good work.
How in the heck do you get your energy lo do all your business, videos, OMGoodness gracious, great balls of 🔥🔥🔥
Your video help's me a lot breeding my guppies ☺
Algae is food for babies!
I thought so!
Thank you Corey.
Great information! Could you do some videos on Gourami setups, different breeds, breeding, good tank mates, etc? Thanks!
Thanks for such great information Cory. My goal is to have a shop Etsy one day after I get my license filled with my favourite fish ☺️
Love the cyprichromis tank. One thing I've learned about having them the last year and a half is they require a lot of patience.
+Tyler Akers all fish require patience really. The one thing in this hobby you can't buy your way through really.
Good stuff, as always extremely Informative. Keep em coming!
thank u also am one of your biggest fans
Great job Cory...I'd like to see a video like this on Angels as well.
I don't really enjoy breeding angels, so I'd have to team up with an angel breeder to make such a video.
Best fish in the hobby! Beautiful and cheap. I can make a living from the sale of guppy’s. If you have a lot of aquariums you can make a lot of money with them.
Any follow up video or a new similar selective colony breeding project of guppies?
I miss this fish room.
Very informative and helpful! Thanks!
You should try to add some more plants like hornwort to those tanks with the algae to out compete it.
Hi following you straight from the Middle East Israel you are a champion you can explain what the white pipes in the water of the aquarium mean
Jason, super cool guppies. I had some guppies back in 2006 - 2010. They multiplied very quickly!! I don't remember having that many choices as I see today on the internet. The net was still very new, Think I was using a web TV. I like the Tuxedo Guppies do you have any of those?

Do the benefits of Duckweed outweight the mess of it? I have been using it in my shrimp tanks, but it is such a headache.
great video love the guppy videos
Ever thought of getting an hrv/erv for the humidity? I noticed with the dehumidifiers your meter was still hitting 60%.
+Ben I have, but my research shows me it'll be less efficient than what I'm currently doing. The problem is when I shoot videos and put water on the floor. The humidity rises. However yesterday when not filming and working humidity was 35%
I have little guppy fish and they are very healthy
Hi. Your videos are great and because of that I decided to get a small 5 gallons aquarium myself. I have 2 gruppies (1 male, 1 female), 1 cherry shrimp and 1 small pleco. I would assume she'll be due soon, but I'm a newbie and this is my 1st aquarium. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
Every time you say duckweed patrol I cackle
Love all your videos
Love this video, so helpful
Great vid, i got a stock tank finally, and im keeping a common snapping turtle in it, and my dad said i need to bury it. He said it will bake in the summer and freeze in the winter. Its not going to free because i have a 550gph filter on it, this is a 110g stock tank
Do i need to bury it
Burying it will help with temperature swings. But you should design an overall plan. So maybe you bury it, maybe you create a glass top for it, to keep it warmer during the winter, but leave that off during the summer. You could also surround it with hay bales etc to keep it warmer.
Great video Cory
Cory your videos help me out so much as I am going to set up a guppie colony and this shows me how
Nice video man!!!
Helpful information. Can you build a good colony with other fish species in the thank?
I like how you are doing more live bearer videos.
FINALLY, a guppy breeder who lets natural selection happen!
I have some fancy guppies that I will breed this year hopefully they turn out nice
I have a 5 gallon tank. I’m going to set it up and let it set got a week. How many fish should I have? I was thinking of a couple guppy’s , 3 neons . A cat fish and a couple platies and shrimp or two. And live plants.
i really appreciate all the love you got my respect and I feel the same and support for your channel thank you and GOD.BLESS YOU and YOUR channel thumbs-up 👊😀💓
I would really like to check out your fish room. I just have a few fry there coming along great not real sure what there colors will be
I really like this video, now I'm going to buy me some guppies.
Your female guppy with the "weak back" may be paralyzed because if you notice when it tries to swim it doesn't move its tail much and it also swims kind of vertical like. But I don't know just a guess haha (:
Axil Gaming w
What are those containers the guppies are in? They would be so useful!
+CamzoIslandz specimen containers meant for fish stores.
What kind of gups were those? Red bronze? Albino full reds? Flamingos? I have female guppies that look like those and they had fry which are about a month old now and the males are just blonde/bronze with red tails as well but not full red...
The best way to get rid of duckweed is the Ehiem surface skimmer. Any surface skimmers that are work like this one are duckweed vacuums.
Also, I commented on another video asking what those mouth brooders are, but I finally found it on google after you mentioned it in this video. Do you sell any Cyprichromis?
I don't currently sell any. I will eventually liquidate through the store I'ms ure.
Aquarium Co-Op keep me updated, as I'm definitely interested should I have the tank space they require when you liquidate
Hi what filter are you using. I have a large bowl aquarium and need a filter that rests on the gravel like you have..thanks
Do you put the females and males together right away
Awesome video !
Greetings from Germany :)
