Heres the thing, I don't hate this reboot because of how inferior it is to the original, I hated it because of the cringe moments, gross out humor, awful writing, and most of all, the overuse of stock images and footage used as jokes or just to cheap out.
Is it just me or does Cartoon Network have an obsession with stock images? Teen titans go and chowder were always a victim for stock images and maybe even uncle grandpa and ppg 2016
Ms. Bellum did have an explanation for being removed from the reboot. She had too many vacation days so she had to go on an extremely long vacation. Bye Bye Bellum is one of the best reboot episodes. The creators said they thought that Ms. Bellum's portrayal was sexist when it wasn't.
And yet they were perfectly okay with having little kids twerk with a panda 🤷♀ I was so confused when that episode first came out because the characters are supposed to be kindergarteners, and yet they're doing this.

Nothing works in the reboot: - Bubble, Blossom and Buttercup appears to be a parody of their original counterpart - The art style is bad, looks like the characters are from Clarence - Secondary characters are bland or have no importance - Ms. Bellum was removed because the producers deemed her a bad example for little girls, even though she was literally one of the most intelligent and competent characters in the original cartoon. - The new villains are all lame and bland, Bianca and her gorilla friend are examples. - The series relies too much on the use of bad memes that have aged very poorly - Bliss is a missed opportunity to make a new original powerpuff girl - Instead, she's a Mary Sue taking over the role of Bunny - A producer is self-inserting into episodes to ship with Blossom - Mojo Jojo is completely forgettable, he's just the normal guy who lives in the city - There are very few fight scenes, which is literally what Powerpuff Girls is known for. - The episodes are bad, like the one with Bubble who gets a cybernetic arm after being hit by a rat.
I honestly really missed the battles and Mojo Jojo could've been better here also The Rowdy rough boys were absent from the reboot only making a single cameo, they are my favorite antagonists, I could gush about them but I'd stray too far from your original comment
@@MontenegroPlus The Original is a classic and slaps hard. I do like the original's more, but I also think the reboot had a strong intro (especially the animation and style there), it's a shame that unlike the OG that energy and style wasn't carried over into the show itself.
@@toony1232Yeah, iirc she didn't get to even work on the full version of the show before getting kicked out, once her creepy tumblr posts about some teenage long haired boy she was attracted to got out. She was upset that she couldn't talk to him because his mom was there 🗿
I think, the man himself said it best: "When we created the Powerpuff girls, We were first and foremost making a superhero show, but they happened to be kids who then happened to be little girls What they (The reboot) were doing was making a show about little girls who had superpowers" -Craig McCraken, 2023
The worst part is that the girls don't feel like 6 years old girls but pre schoolers which kinda changes the tone alot . They also lack the same chemistry in the original where they'd be kind and caring while having their low moments here and there meanwhile the reboot basically is if you put a walking OCD , passive aggressiveness and Obxionousness in one room to say there sisters like bruh.
This show was designed to be corporate, you can see it everywhere. -Original team not involved. -This reboot was made primarily to sell merchandise and make money. There is no other passion behind it. -The people they hired had their own ideas and things they wanted to do that did not mesh with the original show. It was supposed to be a continuation of the old cartoon, but ended up feeling more like a reboot, kind of. -The new writers got rid of characters they didn't want to use, like Ms. Bellum and Sedusa. They never really explained why, which upset a lot of fans. People quickly figured out that they wanted different kinds of female role models. -The old characters were passed over for new ones. The new villains and other characters were not very popular with anyone. There were only a few exceptions, like Silico. -This version of the show focused more on comedy then action. This is what the original show did during it's 5th and 6th seasons, which caused viewership to decline and why the show was originally cancelled. -The writers did not seem to be confident in what they were doing. They made a big event out of their new character Bliss, who was a new Powerpuff Girl. However, at the end of the special she goes back to her home planet. It feels like they were worried about trying to add her to the cast, despite the advertising and efforts made. -A lot of complaints were made about how the Girls were written. Most of their positive qualities had been taken away while their negative qualities had been ramped up. It made all 3 Girls feel unbalanced and almost like strange copies of themselves.
For years, I've ignored this version of the show. I haven't even seen many episodes (not that I will to begin with), but it's just not worth my time. While there are some aspects I like (the girls' new wardrobe; pajamas, bathing suits, etc), the other things aren't nearly as charming as the original series. Also, what grade are the girls supposed to be in now? They were kindergarteners before, but now it looks like they're in a combination of elementary and middle school. Some of their classmates look as old as 15 or 16! Maybe even 18! I remember hearing somewhere that one of the writers confirmed they went to a school with no grades at Comic Con, so there's the reason. Either that or they must've finally graduated from kindergarten and moved onto first grade. But the thing is Princess Morbucks only turned six during the show, so that brings evidence that they might still be kindergarteners after all (even if they don't seem like it anymore). If they were first graders, she would've turned seven rather than six.... just saying. I've also read old interviews from the show staff, and they've pretty much confirmed they're the same age as the original; they wanted to put their own unique twist, despite it going horribly wrong. Yes, there are the elephants in the room like the twerking scenes and the fact Blossom is in love with a kid twice her age (thus circulating rumors that said kid is a self insert of one of the writers).... for the most part, I don't even care about that reboot. Do your self a favor and watch the original series. Everyone knows the original series is far superior.
Craig McCracken, the creator the show, announced he would be working on a second revival than is a continuation of the original one. Hopefully it will be much better than the 2016 reboot and fox the mistakes it left us, including bringing Miss Bellum back
I think the worse episode was Hustlecup where Ace returns to the Gangrene Gang after Gorillaz. Many of you might not be aware of this but Blossom's voice in the 2016 series would eventually voice Polly Plantar in Amphibia.
Buttercup's voice would also voice Fern in the same show as well as a teenage Eda Clawthorne in The Owl House. Does anyone know any shows that Bubbles' voice actress has voiced recently? Natalie Palamides probably worked her hard to echo Elizabeth "E.G." Daily's voice but it just doesn't sound close to Tommy Pickles' voice. Why did they have to hire a then child Kristen Li Bubbles. At least Tara Strong's voice for Bubbles is cute. So glad they got the original VAs back and their old designs in post-2016 media.
Big agree with the last part, them being able to reprise their roles for multiversus for example was a welcomed surprise for me. They even put in the effort to get the rowdyruff boys VA’s to voice as well which is just as great. Of course they won’t have the same quality as they did like 20 years ago, but It’s still is so great to see them voicing them again.
I got a list 1 Cheaper animation 2 Controversal things involving the girls ie twearking, and Blossom's love intrest being based on one of the writers (or something along those lines still doesn't excuse GIVING HIM A SIX PACK IN A FANTSY ) 3 The flanderization 4 Most of the og villains are gone 5 The new villains suck 6 Craig Mccracken not being there 7 The actresses for the og Powerpuff Girls being turned down 8 Outdated trends and memes 9 THE CRINGE
I think the thing that killed the show for me was when they didn’t bring the Roudy Rough Boys, or any villain that actually tried to kill the Power Puff Girls. As a kid, the best episodes were the episodes about the girls fighting actual threats. And even as an adult I still loved those episodes.
The rowdyruff boys did make an appearance in the show. In that race episode, however, mojo Jojo just exploded them. I was disappointed. The rrbs had potential. They could have became good guys, or fought the pgg again. It would have been way more interesting than these lame new badguys.
I think that the biggest problem with this show is that it tries to be like Teen Titans Go! Think about it, the characters are somewhat mean-spirited, the exaggerated facial expressions, the photoshopping and the humor feels just like TTG!
You're not wrong. WB, and especially Cartoon Network, played favoritism towards "Teen Titans Go!" as a way to retaliate towards the criticism. And because of that, they pushed for more shows to replicate "Teen Titans Go!" especially their sentiments towards fans, and because of doing this.... Cartoon Network is now a dying brand. Especially after noticing the foreclosure of Cartoon Network Studios and David Zaslav shutting down the website, I hope everyone in the past regime is REALLY proud of themselves for making those decisions.
Actually, I liked TTG - I considered that show as a superhero parody like The Boys or Invincible. The main problem is many of CN shows tried to be like TTG because of its success. And all they failed. TTG popularity became its curse.
@@DanPankrat I never said I didn’t like TTG. There are plenty of things that I like about that show. I’m just saying that since TTG is popular on the network, Powerpuff Girls 2016 tried to do what TTG does and failed miserably because it doesn’t work with the tone of the Powerpuff Girls
Another reboot is actually in development with Craig McCracken returning to create. I hope it’s better than the 2016 reboot. A live-action show on CW was in development and a pilot was even filmed but the producers weren’t happy with it and ordered it to be reworked. Nothing has been announced since but I think it’s safe to say it’s been cancelled altogether. Trust me, it wouldn’t have turned out good at all no matter how many times they tried redoing the script.
Craig McCracken said it was not a full reboot, just something related to the PPG. He said so on his twitter. I wouldn’t be surprised if the project was on the multiverse video game because most of the lines for the RRB and PPG sound well done to fit the characters.
As someone who grew up with the reebot im glad im finally seeing a full explination on why everyone hates it, most of the time people just say it doesn't feel like the original show, which isn't a bad thing so im glad you've explained it in a more clear way.
Despite the fact that the Rugrats reboot might not have been well liked as the original series, I still think it’s better than the powerpuff girls reboot from 2016. That’s just what I think but one advantage Rugrats had over the powerpuff girls was that reboot got the original voice actors back for the babies even if the adults got replaced with new voices. Most of the older voice actors like Jack Riley who voiced Stu who passed away was more understandable and had to be replaced. Take with it what you will, be the Rugrats reboot deserved a far better fate than being removed from Paramount+ and moving to Nicktoons, the channel where shows go to die…
Something came into my mind.If I'm not mistaken, in the reboot the Gangreen Gang make very little appearance, and that was quite a bummer, because they were one of the coolest villains in the original series. It was a breath of fresh air for me when I saw Ace in Gorillaz, especially in the MV of "Tranz" - he really knew his thing around the bass (maybe he learned some tricks from Murdoc)! Ace is my second favourite in the Gorillaz universe, with 2-D being my forever no.1. favourite 💙
This show didn't have to be bad. There were some good episodes that emphasized that it had potential, and even the new characters weren't necessarily bad. I haven't watched enough of the show to really say for sure, but I dunno, my biases keep me from hating certain characters as much as others do.
I’ve grew up with the original when I was 4 and I loved it The reboot is sometimes that should’ve stayed forgotten, even Cartoon Network themselves want to forget about it
You mean they finally decided to drop the reboot. They have been using the reboot for a while until recently. Multiversus actually used the original ppg with the original voice actors along with the rrbs.
Another thing that ruined the reboot is the writing, especially when you find out that some of the writers involved have been discovered to be massive creeps. Like the one who self inserted himself to be in a romantic relationship with Blossom (who is a kindergartener btw), hell.... I remember seeing an interview in which he talks about why he loves Blossom, and you can see that the voice actress who voiced Blossom is visibly uncomfortable. And we've come to Julia Vickerman..... where do I begin with this disgusting individual? She wrote some of the most controversial episodes of the series, like Painbow (the twerking one), Horn, Sweet Horn, the one with the transgender unicorn, and she created Bliss. Well...... how do I say this without getting in trouble with YT? She likes 'em *REALLY* young, if you know what I'm talking about?
Side thing but I’m surprised the reboot never did anything with the rowdy ruff boys despite them being literally one of the most beloved concepts of the original series, instead just relegating them to a one time background cameo. Instead of the weird fourth lost powerpuff girl plot they’ve tried doing (which I wouldn’t have minded if her design wasn’t so off putting, Her taller height makes sense as she’s older but I always despised the hair choice…), they could’ve just utilized them instead to bring attention to the show instead. (Same goes for many other interesting aspects of the original series which didn’t get the chance to be fully explored, like the power punk girls). I mean I’m not disappointed as I doubt they would’ve been handled well, there’s no way they wouldn’t have been watered down like many of the original villains of the show. I’d say I don’t understand why they thought this reboot would ever be a good idea, but it’s so obvious that it only exists not for any care of the original but just to merchandise and make money. (which was blatant with their decision to not involve any of the OG staff without even a warning, explains why the reboot is so bland and didn’t care to appeal to its fans).
You know, I kinda like the idea of an episode where Ms. Keane either defends herself or helps out the girls with fighting crime. She is mostly portrayed as a firm, but well-meaning and kind teacher who serves as a role model. The idea of giving her some depth like being skilled in martial arts would be great. We all know Ms. Bellum fought Sedusa.... and it was worth it.
This reboot is not good 10 reasons. 1. It's like a parody of the original Powerpuff girls. 2. There really aren't any relatable characters in my opinion. All of them are annoying. 3. It doesn't meet it's basic point. Powerpuff girls was supposed to be about 3 little girls fighting crime. However, these girls goof off most of the time. And when they do save the day, it's a basic fight that isn't very interesting. 4. It has humor in it that isn't funny. 5. The animation is flat. 6. Their voice actors are not as good as the original. 7. The villans are bland. Even everyone's used to be favorite: Mojo Jojo. 8. They made the mayor even more dumb which is not cute anymore. 9. The girls totally act like brats. Especially Bubbles now... They did her dirty... 10. There is no real story. All the stories are lazy. And have lame and boring plots.
You know, fun fact, I was one of the chumps who thought this look good when I first watched it. I know what a coincidence. But when I first saw disreboot now, as a teenager, I did enjoy the original when I was a kid I remember watching a full marathon of it when I was a kid and I actually enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun. The fight scenes were cool and I really enjoyed it. I still watch the original till this day and believe it or not. As a teenager for the remake, I actually originally, I actually thought that this was a return from the show and I was like, oh, are they actually bringing back the show? And there are they going to bring back some iconic classic characters into the show, but they didn't. They kept some and a few new ones which I wasn't a fan of now, to be honest, I didn't know that this was a reboot, and I originally thought it was like a connection to the old show, but it isn't. It's a remake which I found disappointing. Anyways, when I first watched it, I was kind of okay with it, but ever since I kept watching the same things over and over, I just got bored with it. I mean, back in the day I used to thought it was really good and then I heard people saying it was terrible and honestly, I can see why people hated it. I i understand why people hated it, but it could have been so much better like I really wish it was connected to the series and then and maybe it would have really good ideas for this show it would been interesting. In fact, it would have been interesting if it was a little dark like if it was dark, it had some interesting lore. Then maybe it would have been everyone's favorite. But no, it's just a simple reboot, which I mean, I haven't seen the reboot in a long time and so regardless. What do you guys think do you enjoy the? Reboot, or do you prefer the original? Let me know, and have you grown up with the reboot? Over the original let me know
different director, different writers, didn't even bother asking the original cast to voice the girls, getting rid of ms belum, making characters dumber when they never were to begin with (like professor utonium) making cringy faces and stupid memes, muscles on buttercup is nightmare fuel and going to a different school that's for OLDER kids and love intrests with older kids,ew,the girls are 5 years old,not 18,instead of forcing them to go to a different school, they could've gone to another kindergarden school, how is pokey oak's the only kindergarden in the entire city of townsville? I would've loved it better if they had new characters around THEIR age group,I don't mind bliss, but the backstory (again why the hell did they make professor utonium stupid?) there's a better way to give her a proper backstory of how she was made with chemical w instead of him trying every single letter the things I do like though, the designs for the girls, like I said I like bliss but her backstory could've gone alittle better),I like that bubbles knows how to code,I think that's pretty nifty having a quiet and shy character be good at coding, sure they could've just given that blossom, but some reason,I just adore the fact bubbles can do it ♥honestly I wasn't expecting them to give bubbles depression since that's not her style with her optimistic bubbly self, but I guess it works, she's allowed to feel sad since she's also sensitive, sure there's more bad things than good in the show, and they could've done better if they actually watched the original series and did they're research,so whoever made the show,I hope you learned from all of your mistakes and your next show does better, but leave old cartoons alone (I'm talking about you to CN =.= )
I'm surprised you didn't mention Bliss and how much of an unnecessary character she was. Three Powerpuffs is enough. We don't need four especially if the fourth sucks. She feels like a bad self-interest you'd read in a fanfic. Overpowered, no flaws just a complete Mary Sue, takes away screentime from the characters people actually want to see, and has a dark backstory (that also ruins the professor's character by the way). If you ask me they should've reintroduced the Rowdyruffs and give them a redemption arc and then later have them join the puffs. That's way more interesting than having a secret older sister. And hey, love it or hate it. But you could also do ppg x rrb in this series and I'm sure most of us can agree that we would rather see Blossom and Brick instead of that disgusting ass Blossom and Jared or whatever that sickos name is shit.
Easy, THE SHOW IS A DISGRACE. The toned down violence, boring episodes, TOO MANY MEME, weird self inserts, no og villains/boring villains, and the girls were HEAVILY downplay
I think the issue with the reboot can be summed up this: The irony that they removed Ms. Bellum but then include the more provocatively designed Fashionistas, who are even more stereotypical iirc. In fact, the show can't seem to decide to either be its own thing or to continue the original, so they do both hamfistedly.
They couldn't decide if it was reboot or a sequel series, and they couldn't decide if it was a parody of the original show or not. Shadow Streak summed the reboot up in one word: Sloppy.
The real reason why this reboot will never worked because of the redesigns, the storytelling methods in a dumb 21st culture, worst writing, not much action and thrills even the animation was WAY WORSE to make a profit for MAX even the worst CN before their studio closed down by David Z monster. The 21st century just gone much worse on entertainment if they could make it right. DuckTales 2017 was the best reboot of the decade but that is an abomination of animation. Thank god it got cancelled in 2019. I heard Craig McCracken will be back to fix their mistake.
What sucks is that the creators of this reboot Derek Drymon And Bob Boyle has worked on great shows before this with derek working as a creative director and writer on seasons 1 to 3 of SpongeBob Squarepants and bob boyle has worked as a creator on wow wow wubsy and yin yang yo so for them to make this reboot like this is so crazy.
Screw you, you underwear guy, Bob Boyle was never guilty of making cartoons, and Derek Drymon, after all, he wasn't the one who did the PPG reboot, he doesn't know anything about the Powerpuff Girls, no, none of that, what he really knew the most about is The Adventures of Tom and Jerry, and not to reboot The Powerpuff Girls, and whoever made this drawing is actually the same one from the 90s, which is Craig McCracken, but Derek Drymon is far from being him, and not to mention, I've already seen the PPG episodes in reboot, and if most of them, they still matched more with the 90s to the 2000s, and now, and now, it has always been for me, because this reboot is just for The Powerpuff Girls to have an HD version, but for Derek Drymon to have made a cartoon with more violence like PPG, not so much, and if it wasn't really the Craig McCracken who had prepared The Powerpuff Girls in HD 2016, then the quality of the animation might not be as beautiful, and much less realistic, with me!
Makes me a bit disappointed cause it could've had serious potential. 1) I personally love the animation used in the Intro and it's stronger stylization there. Maybe if it had more of that it still could've stood apart from the past version and the other current shows. 2) The preview shorts were okay, but I thought the Bubbles Make up one was sweet with its ending and showing they are little girls who also bother each other in sibling ways. If they kept up their sibling dynamic, I think moments could've been funnier or sweeter. 3) I think the new voice acting was a lot to take in, but it could've worked out as well. Just maybe would've been easier to take, if the girls were written better and not all the rest of the cast was back. It just feels like a show that was majorly mismanaged and looked just at the surface level of what Powerpuff Girls was. Heck they were more accurate to their previous versions in the Teen Titans Go crossover.
It had potential in my opinion. The girls new power abilities are one of the good things in this. Also, the theme song slaps hard. Those are the only good things in this reboot But still, the potential was wasted.
might be a hot take but i actually really liked the new voices in the reboot. yes, they're absolutely not as good as the originals, but they've definitely grown on me and i wouldn't be fully against seeing them again.
I still don't understand the thought process of rebooting the Powerpuff Girls in the first place if they prefer tune down the whole series to feel so bland and fail to connect for most of modern audience yes, I know it's for money but they could do something like the 2014 special with yet another animated special to sell toys and such heck, even 2014 special was better than the reboot and it wasn't really great (at least, not on-par from original series) except for amazing impressive animation well, at least they're now re-rebooting the show but with Craig McCracken involved now, they only need to figure out what to do with PPG reboot, so I hope something comes out of it
Craig McCracken said it won’t be a full blown show on Twitter. It’s more of a small project and the only series he was working on was the Foster’s show for very young kids but idk if that got canned thanks to Warner Bros doing away with CN and other projects.
@@OhGoodieGumdrops, the new Reboot of Foster's Home, it's better that this never exists, it will completely disrespect the original, it will never be the best in the world, and that's all because of the Foster's Home design features that have nothing to do with the original, and in Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends they were actually a series more for older people even still, but the series in Reboot, and for much younger children, it's not a lie, but it will go completely wrong, no one will have to release this for anything, the hope that we must never release Foster's Home, and even more so for children from 0 to 5, and it will probably ruin everything about Foster's Home, and that will be totally disrespectful!
I think the main problem is that the original show is way too good. I watched it again recently and it surprised me. Is too dumb and clever at the same time. They are kindergarden girls with kindergarden problems, but once the problems are presented they take on a lvl of deep and complexity unbelieble. Like the chapter the girls are jelaous of blossom new power. Is a dumb problem but highly well elaborated. And has some clever hints to adults like when the mayor was going to be defeated until the enemy tried to wear his hat and he got mad and defeated them. He didnt got mad because the people was being bullied, he got mad because someone else was going to use his hat. And you see all this from the point of view of 3 little girls.
0:24 I dunno if it the original one had "feminist tones" xD, they were just girls but all kids liked the show: I only remember that one episode in which they fight this misandric villainess who hated men yet had no idea about actual gender sturglles: it was nice...the reboot however, really tried to sell that "mpowerment" idea, they even created a new (unccreative) male counterpart for that villainess who was never seen again: it was so on the nose, and so forced. They really were a cyinical cash-grab with no creativty, only trying to recycle popular IPs for girls and boys into their own placeholders for what current focus groups coinsdered "safe".
I really do t understand why people get angry at reboots for casting different voice actors. Like why expect that. I don’t watch the new TMNT show expecting them to cast the original voices. Same with new iterations of transformers and others. Like it’s a standard practice. Not to say this reboot wasn’t bad bc it was. I just don’t think the voices had anything to do with it, people just get too caught up on the original voices they heard.
I was 10 at the time and wasn't familiar with the original series, so I didn't hate it. I was a Cartoon Network addict at the time, so I was going to watch just about anything they put out. Except Mighty Magiswords.
Im glad Powerpuff girls reboot and ben 10 reboot are dead, only teent tians go remains and hope its a final season cause the starfire space crew adventure special is reduntant finale.
I don't hate the "reboot" and a part of me is sorry it was canceled. I wouldn't call it a reboot, by the way - it's clearly a direct sequel and the continuity seems fully preserved to me. At first the show didn't feel right, with the new voices (though Utonium, Mojo and others did retain their voices) and the new facial expressions with the rapidly shrinking iris. But it grew on me and after a while I even started liking these changes. I especially liked what they'd done with Him, making him even more of a threat with a long game that sadly remained unresolved. Sue me, but I even liked the romantic plot line for Blossom (also unresolved). Sure, it wasn't as good as the original. The new villains were boring and cringy, I guess. Although the Gnat was kind of funny. But it wasn't terrible either and, apart from not inviting the entire old cast, I don't regard it as disrespectful.
The only episode that I liked from the 2016 Powerpuff Girls Reboot 🦸♀️🦸♀️🦸♀️ is the Season 1 episode Bye Bye Bellum. It reminds me of the Season 2 Original 1998 show episode Something's A Ms. and Bianca Bikini🦹♀️😈 was good in that episode just like Sedusa 🦹♀️😈was good in Something's A Ms.
And that's why I'm giving it a terrible score, and it's the only thing that is getting a massive F. It fails to show what Powerpuff Girls is capable of and is bogged down with corporate decisions that make it an unpleasant experience for the casual viewer. And after this video, I don't see myself wanting to watch this anytime sooner. OUCH.
I like the reboot because it didn't force itself onto you just like ttg, even though the voice actors were replaced the current ones kinda did a good job (no offense). Some fans of the original didn't like the reboot so they inhaled 2763 tanks of copium and literally said that the reboot took place in an alternate universe. Tbh the fans of this show are like adults now so idk why they're expecting too much from a 20+ years old cartoon for kids, it's like an equivalent to bronies. (that was a joke but I am so tired of the hate against the reboot, they always focus on the bad sides and shit on this show whenever they had the chance because Ms. Bellum isn't here, the girls kinda like got even more powerful in that one episode but no one seems to acknowledge that. Imo the haters are a little biased, just saying)
Comparing this to teen titans Go this appears more poorly done, none of the characters keep their actual personalities properly such as bubbles she is supposed to be the cutesy and sweet one out of the three but in most episodes is portrayed as a annoying and a clueless person she is supposed to be silly not dumb while Beast boy in the teen titans Go series is made dumber he still keeps many qualities especially as a super hero he is useful in battle and though he is quite a disrespectful person to robin there were many times he actually listened to Robin and the others and the show even keeps the same villains and even giving attention to them even when their not committing crime which makes them less forgettable like Doctor Light and control freak. ( i aslo like the idea of the production team putting self inserts in the back they have to main purpose but its interesting unlike making themselves appear more important unlike Jared who makes hinself the crush of blossom...whos a minor (cough) but he appears in several episodes as a main character such as the 1 episode about how jared and the girls got pulled into a board game its werid and we dont know much of jared and his purpose really...
Heres the thing, I don't hate this reboot because of how inferior it is to the original, I hated it because of the cringe moments, gross out humor, awful writing, and most of all, the overuse of stock images and footage used as jokes or just to cheap out.

Same!

I'm disappointed that Bob Boyle of all people had to be involved with this show.
The show had Blossom and Bubbles, literal children, twerking in one of the episodes, and that’s where the line was drawn. Alright. 😶

Nothing works in the reboot:

- Secondary characters are bland or have no importance
- Ms. Bellum was removed because the producers deemed her a bad example for little girls, even though she was literally one of the most intelligent and competent characters in the original cartoon.
- The new villains are all lame and bland, Bianca and her gorilla friend are examples.
- The series relies too much on the use of bad memes that have aged very poorly
- Bliss is a missed opportunity to make a new original powerpuff girl
- Instead, she's a Mary Sue taking over the role of Bunny
- A producer is self-inserting into episodes to ship with Blossom
- Mojo Jojo is completely forgettable, he's just the normal guy who lives in the city
- There are very few fight scenes, which is literally what Powerpuff Girls is known for.
- The episodes are bad, like the one with Bubble who gets a cybernetic arm after being hit by a rat.
Yeah the problem with the reboot is the people who wrote that is reflecting the LA who they live in at the time just like a RUclipsr will stay
the self-insert into the show for the creator to be in love with a child is crazy and sick

Yes, I will say the animation and song used in the opening theme was really good.
Wished the show was of the same quality.
Absolutely! Makes me really wish the show had some of that movement, and the more of the sharp contrast style.
Not as much as the oirignal though.
@@MontenegroPlus The Original is a classic and slaps hard. I do like the original's more, but I also think the reboot had a strong intro (especially the animation and style there), it's a shame that unlike the OG that energy and style wasn't carried over into the show itself.

@@MontenegroPlus yup.
I think, the man himself said it best:
"When we created the Powerpuff girls, We were first and foremost making a superhero show, but they happened to be kids who then happened to be little girls
What they (The reboot) were doing was making a show about little girls who had superpowers"
-Craig McCraken, 2023
That would explain the school cliches and the little amount of fights.
Preschoolers? More like preteens. Though I personally wouldn't say they were ever preschoolers to begin with; they were always kindergarteners.

I will give it a good point because I like the intro

@@OhGoodieGumdrops it’ll be interesting gig to see how it all eventuates.

PPG 98 is great (except the last 2 seasons) but PPG 2016 makes HammerMan look like Gravity Falls!
The 2 last seasons are good. Oh please😤
Also I noticed how it does..... "Meet the Powerpuff Girls" or something.
The irony is that Teen Titans Go is still around cause it can be good when it wants to be and CN had an unhealthy relationship with it.
Yeah
The fact the girls in this show are more in character in the teen titans go crossover episode than any episode in this show at all
I’ve grew up with the original when I was 4 and I loved it
The reboot is sometimes that should’ve stayed forgotten, even Cartoon Network themselves want to forget about it
You mean they finally decided to drop the reboot. They have been using the reboot for a while until recently. Multiversus actually used the original ppg with the original voice actors along with the rrbs.
@@Saltedroastedcaramel Yeah idk why it took them that long to realize and agreed the reboot was a mistake
I’ve seen a couple episodes of this and a few episodes of the original series. I think they’re charming in their own way
Side thing but I’m surprised the reboot never did anything with the rowdy ruff boys despite them being literally one of the most beloved concepts of the original series, instead just relegating them to a one time background cameo.
I was wondering why nobody never talks about Powerpuff girls anymore..
To me, the only episode that was good is when Ms. Keane overcame her anxiety to save the girls and city from a giant ant while being 50ft tall.
I know this is off topic but... I miss Powerpuff Girls Z...
“What went wrong?”
*It was made*
You know, fun fact, I was one of the chumps who thought this look good when I first watched it.
I would've loved it better if they had new characters around THEIR age group,I don't mind bliss, but the backstory (again why the hell did they make professor utonium stupid?) there's a better way to give her a proper backstory of how she was made with chemical w instead of him trying every single letter
the things I do like though, the designs for the girls, like I said I like bliss but her backstory could've gone alittle better),I like that bubbles knows how to code,I think that's pretty nifty having a quiet and shy character be good at coding, sure they could've just given that blossom, but some reason,I just adore the fact bubbles can do it ♥honestly I wasn't expecting them to give bubbles depression since that's not her style with her optimistic bubbly self, but I guess it works, she's allowed to feel sad since she's also sensitive, sure there's more bad things than good in the show, and they could've done better if they actually watched the original series and did they're research,so whoever made the show,I hope you learned from all of your mistakes and your next show does better, but leave old cartoons alone (I'm talking about you to CN =.= )
I think the issue with the reboot can be summed up this:
The irony that they removed Ms.
What makes powerpuff girls 2016 hated is that they are the fourth powerpuff girl
That’s see you didn’t see the full video
I blame Teen Titans go
also the show had a lack of missing characters like certain villains would makes cameos only
never forget the infamous trunking for the family to see, in the opening premier
Oh shit I missed it but I agree this reboot is a disgrace to the powerpuff girls we know and love
It had potential in my opinion. The girls new power abilities are one of the good things in this. Also, the theme song slaps hard. Those are the only good things in this reboot But still, the potential was wasted.
They should've added sedusa and the rowdyruff boys to the 2016 reboot.
might be a hot take but i actually really liked the new voices in the reboot. yes, they're absolutely not as good as the originals, but they've definitely grown on me and i wouldn't be fully against seeing them again.
They turned the Power Puff world into something it wasn’t. They got rid of beloved characters and added their own un-funny creations.
I still don't understand the thought process of rebooting the Powerpuff Girls in the first place if they prefer tune down the whole series to feel so bland and fail to connect for most of modern audience
yes, I know it's for money but they could do something like the 2014 special with yet another animated special to sell toys and such
heck, even 2014 special was better than the reboot and it wasn't really great (at least, not on-par from original series) except for amazing impressive animation
well, at least they're now re-rebooting the show but with Craig McCracken involved now, they only need to figure out what to do with PPG reboot, so I hope something comes out of it
Craig McCracken said it won’t be a full blown show on Twitter.

It could have been even worse. They could have actually done the Live action version.
Thankfully that crashed and burned in production.

But it wasn't terrible either and, apart from not inviting the entire old cast, I don't regard it as disrespectful.
i messed with the op and didn’t keep up with the show
The only episode that I liked from the 2016 Powerpuff Girls Reboot 🦸♀️🦸♀️🦸♀️ is the Season 1 episode Bye Bye Bellum. It reminds me of the Season 2 Original 1998 show episode Something's A Ms. and Bianca Bikini🦹♀️😈 was good in that episode just like Sedusa 🦹♀️😈was good in Something's A Ms.
its shorter to ask what DIDNT go wrong.
If I'm gonna be honest... Largo, Bliss and Duplikate were the only characters I cared for.
There was in one episode.
Incorporating internet memes is always a bad idea because doing so makes the work outdated as like with current events and advertisements.
Their memes that they included was already outdated by the time they first aired the show
Literally everything was wrong with this show
And that's why I'm giving it a terrible score, and it's the only thing that is getting a massive F. It fails to show what Powerpuff Girls is capable of and is bogged down with corporate decisions that make it an unpleasant experience for the casual viewer. And after this video, I don't see myself wanting to watch this anytime sooner. OUCH.
Simple
The Powerpuff Girls is an action show with cute designs and violence
take that away and you get a generic girl power show
thats why it failed
PAINBOW EPISODE OS AN OUTRAGE

Is this a retrospective?
DON'T HATE ME FOR THIS, BUT I LIKE THE NEW PPG BETTER
THE ANIMATION IS CLEANER
Reboots are hardly ever good these days. The only reboot I ever liked so far is DuckTales 2017.
They twerked
Yeah that reboots made by a bunch of arrogant people who use La political just like a certain RUclipsr will stay
8:40 that and HIM was the most powerful villain of all
I mean, he (if thats a guy, of course) is the one that runs the show, literally
I didn't really this version, I only saw commercials. Besides why watch the show when you can just watch Shadow Streak's reviews?
Anyone who replaces tara strong is not a fan of voice acting
