I'm really happy to see the holdouts in the WFB and 9th age communities embracing TOW. Regardless of how you feel about the new rules (I quite like them), it feels like the time is right for the Fantasy Rank-and-Flank community to experience a renaissance and TOW is going to get a lot of new blood into these games. Also, great batrep!
Cheers Ross, am still going to be playing a lot of 5th & 6th Edition, and we will see how the TOW community grows, its a great opportunity to get some new blood into the game, and its better than 8th Ed which was a must for me, is it perfect NO, there are still some very weird rules in the game, but heh, I get to use my gribblys again so all good.
Cool battle report!
Some mistakes I noticed:
- In the Sphinx vs Dragon fight, the Regen save does count towards combat Resolution as + 1 for the TK. Both have Close Order so that cancels out. He lost combat by 2. You also didn't stomp each other. You get to stomp, you just don't get the AP -2 being both Behemoths.
- In the Tomb Guard vs Dragon Prince fight, the BSB effect does not stack with Indomitable. You need to take the best result.
- The command range of your Priest, unless he's the General, his Ld based. So that would be 8 for a Level 3/4, not 12.
- You never mentionned using your My Will be Done on your Tomb King. It's a powerful ability you should try to never forget!
I might have missed some other little mistakes, as I was assembling Skeletons, but great report nonetheless it was enjoyable. It would be cool to have so battlefield shots at the end of each turn to get a better sense of where the battle is going.
Thanks for the feedback, so much going on in this game and missed a couple
Of bits which are locked in now, and will take your advice on the battlefield.
lol maybe take out the part at 2:01 where u lose your shet at your son
Very nice game! And I really liked the relaxed and friendly atmosphere between the players.
Lovely. :) Glad to see you playTOW. I still love 6th Ed but TOW seems good enough and will give more players to have fun with!
Cheers
Hi there! Did the Silver helms not counter charge the snakes? They'd strike before them and probably kill one!
So many things to remember think we may have missed that, which is a shame as it’s actually a really nice mechanic
@@blackdragonminiaturesthere are so many little changes from previous editions...my mind keeps going back to them or just forgetting lol
Silver helms are the only heavy cavalry that doesn't have counter charge.
@@grlmgor looks like Chaos Knights (not chosen) don't have it either
@@squarehammer9349 Didn't even notice, I guess that even more reason to bring Chosen Chaos Knights.
TOW content, woop woop!
Cheers
Thank you for sharing, lovely report. Do double check how characters on mount work, I am still waiting for my box set to arrive but I think the rider of the dragon and the war sphinx would be getting wounded on the toughness of the mount (or chariot) now. Basing this on a few other reports I have watched so apologies if I am wrong.
It's easy: highest toughness counts. For a tomb king on a chario for example, you take the TK's toughness of 5 instead of the chariot's 4. On a sphinx, you take the sphinx's 6 instead of the TK's 5 :) Don't ask me what page it was in the rulebook, but I read it somewhere.
Yah!
Cheers
