  • I took this pack on over 50 miles of runs and these are my thoughts.
    I apologize for the delay on releasing this video. Due to a mountain bike crash I couldn't get out and run to test this pack for a while.

    A little note about the side adjustments: you can actually pop the bungee out of those deep pockets right where it feeds in and then you can tighten the sides on the fly.

      Cory Sova hey good to know, thank you! Do they bounce around a bunch while you’re running?

    Adjust the side shock cord from the out side and then tuck the friction device into the small slit in the pocket for flush and clean look. The pack is not designed to be adjusted through the pocket.

    Thanks for the review! I’m in the market for a running style pack that will accommodate an ice axe, micro spikes, and poles for long single day trips into the mountains. Not many options, though this and the new Salomon XA series look promising. I passed on the Black Diamond last summer because the front pockets looked so poorly designed, but the more traditional backpack I got from Mountain Hardware is too large and chaffed my shoulders terribly.

      The front pockets work very well. I have 4 of these packs from the 22 liter ski best to the 4 liter running vest. I do not think this review does this pack justice. It is superbly designed and built.

    Thanks for the review! Is that an ice cream maker in the back ground? ....3 years later lol

    What size/brand of bladder did you use for the pack?

    • @nuffersgear7315
      @nuffersgear7315  4 года назад

      I use the camelbak wide 2L, but it could fit larger easily. Probably up to 3L

  • @shalom1574

    How do you hook up the bladder, which brand of water bag is used? can you provide some detail?

    • @nuffersgear7315
      @nuffersgear7315  5 лет назад

      Of course! I use the Camelbak Crux 2L Reservoir and it works great. There is a pretty standard pocket or sleeve, if you will, in the pack for bladders and then a hole to run the tube through. There isn't a spot to attach the tube, but I found that running it up under the sternum strap worked well.

      @@nuffersgear7315 Thx! I saw that there is a component in the pack that can hang the Reservoir, but it is too small. Does the blade hang on it and won't fall ?

    • @nuffersgear7315

      Sorry I think I had misunderstood. The pack has a plastic piece on a strap that forms a T. That can be slid through a groove or placed through a hole in the top of the bladder. I don’t even use it though and the bladder stays in place pretty good.

    I don't understand the design with the front pockets... you need to take out the bottle to drink, put it back and tighten the cord? That's ridiculous compared to Salomon where you can keep the bottle in the pocket all the time. How do the lower pockets work with gels etc? Will they stay in the pocket or do you need to play around with the cords there too? :)

    • @nuffersgear7315
      @nuffersgear7315  4 года назад +1

      premierS3 no you don’t have to take it out, you can still drink out of the flasks if they haven’t fallen down into the pocket. The lower pockets hold gels and other things just fine.

    • @premierS3
      @premierS3 4 года назад

      @@nuffersgear7315 Ok. Good to know! :) There's nothing there to keep the empty flask in place then?

    • @nuffersgear7315
      @nuffersgear7315  4 года назад +1

      premierS3 no not lime the Salomon. The flasks kept falling down into the pocket. The black diamond ones might work better though. I just didn’t want to buy more.

      @@nuffersgear7315 Ok. Thanks for the information :) I don't think that's very good design. Probably need to pass just because of that.

      premierS3 if you only use soft flasks then yes. This pack is my long unsupported run pack so I always have a bladder when I use it. For races, I use the Salomon skin 5l

      I haven’t used it for mountain biking, but you could loosen up the straps and I bet it would work fine.
