This was hands down one of the best interviews I've ever seen. Lilly Singh is a woman with a hustle that just commands respect and I'm not just saying that as a fan! Thank you Lewis for not asking the generic questions and giving her true fans the opportunity to know and understand Lilly Singh on a deeper level. I've always been intrigued by what drives this woman to wake up every day after years and years and still have the same passion and dedication and this interview really helped me get an insight into it.
I like how she stops, thinks and takes time to give a collected, well thought answer to the questions.

Totally agree with you, she isn't the common type of youtuber who is just silly and does clickbait content and challenges for views, she is actually making a difference with her work as an entertainer.
I wanna commend Lewis on being able to ask hard-hitting and intense questions without being too invasive or just blatantly disrespectful. This is my favorite interview of Lilly thus far. I learned so much more about her, life, and the art of working hard. She gave such authentic answers. She didn't answer things just for the sake of answering things and I really admired that. Not only did she think about every question but her responses encourages me to think as well. I adore her.

Best 3 truths ever! Lilly, I don't think it's crazy that you ended up with your "childhood idol" as a friend and mentor! All those countless times you put energy into "what it would be like..." you drew him to you by Law of Attraction. Great quote by the way. Thank you for being a thorough woman. Hilarious, beautiful, articulate, entrepreneurial, family oriented, and modest. I'm not a "fangirl" type, I just like to let people know when they are admirable. Keep doing your thang, girl!
The school system limits your creativity. It did for me during my community college. Now, I am at a prestigious Universitie, But I learned that stress will rise, but I won't let a B affect me, nor will I stop my fun. I started backwards. I learned about life, mind, body ,soul first, then started school later in life. I'm glad I experienced life early.
It's 4 am in the morning and I just spent 57 minutes and 26 seconds watching this interview and I have no regrets whatsoever. It's always a pleasure to watch Lilly speak. She's so inspiring and incredible and a true Bawse.
I love the fact Lilly doesn't give cliche answers! She is a quick thinker and uses it to come up with heart-felt replies. Excellent work with the questions asked! The first ever interview I don't regret watching for almost an hour! :) And you just gained a subscriber ;)
Love 2 things she mentioned: 1) School/Formal Education does not teach you how to believe in yourself and be your own best friend (our parents need to incorporate these teachings as we learn formal education) THIS IS THE DRIVER FOR HARD WORK ETHIC 2)Once you believe in yourself, you can't let yourself down. When love yourself and hold yourself dear, you won't let bear to disappoint yourself and the dreams. In this space, you will be gentle with yourself. NOW these lessons stick with me because I am a harsh self critic and I beat myself down to the point I don't want to try again. Don't worship self to the point you will take others down at your expense. Thanks for validating these deep instincts/lessons that I am encountering in 2018.
Lilly never ceases to amaze me. No matter how deep or left field the question was that Lewis gave her, she still answered it with so much poise and grace. Reasons why she continues to inspire me every day. I love watching her interviews!

" The person I was at that time hurt me the most " - I have been in depression too and relate to so much of what she is saying. I started making cooking videos in the same phase of ny depression as I loved to cook. And that's when my parents started talking to me and trusting me when I started loving myself.

Thank you, Lewis, for every time you ask someone about their challenges, especially about dealing with haters. I am a coach publishing videos, and navigating the waters of "being seen". It stings getting nasty comments, even when it's from people not worth engaging in conversation. Knowing other people go through the same thing is giving me the strength to keep going, and to stay strong in the process. Thank you for introducing me to new teachers, for being unafraid of the emotional questions, and for inspiring me.

The crazy thing to me, is that they call it obsessiveness, but when you get what you want at the end of it, it's just what you put in to get what you want. The more you want, the more you put in. For me, I've put in a lot and I've gotten a lot, and I keep thinking to myself "I wonder what else I can do," and then I create a larger vision and start on the path to doing it. It's what I'm up to. I'm not up to "turning up," "talking about people," people watching, making more money, making more friends, or anything else. I'm up to seeing what else I'm capable of, and that takes ALL of my time; ALL of my energy; ALL of my attention, and requires me to learn more than I knew before and even more than I know right now. It makes me happy, because that's the DIRECTION, PURPOSE and LIGHT of my life. These are the things that keep me from being terribly depressed and wanting to end it all.

Wow! This interview really dug deep. I'm a huge Lilly fan and admirer and after obsessively watching her daily vlogs, her main channel videos and all her other press interviews, I thought I would stop watching this after the first 15 minutes. Because almost all interviewers ask the same questions :/
But this interview was so refreshing and it spoke about things that were so inspiring and motivating. And it gave so much more insight into Lilly's journey. Thank you so much for this Lewis! It was awesome!

I can relate to her struggle to figure out what she wants to do. I experienced this same struggle. I've found that, more than anything, diving into potential paths has been the most useful and telling. From wanting to be a therapist (I was working on my PhD!) to a professor/researcher, but then doing a complete 180 to land in the field of fitness... 5 years later, I am now the digital media manager at the fitness studio I work for. I would have never thought that staring at a computer for 8 hours and creating content would light my fire, but lo and behold, I've never been happier :D
I'm looking forward to soon hiring other people to film and take photos for me too! Another step toward living the dream!

I appreciated Lilly's comments about the value of a mentor and the humility of Dwayne Johnson to be her personal mentor. We all need a mentor. We all need someone willing to say "I've been there and I know how to help you move to the next step."
A love of excellence is what she's talking about being obsessed with. I won't say I'm obsessed with it. It's just that along the way I developed a love for excellence, and as they say "the way you do a thing is the way you do everything." It becomes a pattern of behavior, which begins with the way you think about things and the sense of satisfaction and excitement re: a job well done that follows. Finding balance and learning to prioritize helps you discern when it's practical to spend so much time and energy on things.
But I try to expose my students to achieving excellence, because of how good it feels, especially when you're achieving things that you didn't know that you could. You never know how great you can be until you try!

My great-grandfather was the largest exporter of apples up until the early 90s (he retired in 1996 due to death). He worked hard but played even harder. That down time gave him the ability to improve his empire. His kids and grandchildren that took over the farm, have not had the same success as Great-Granddad. The biggest difference in the generations is the generations that took over the farm, rarely play.
I'm so happy I can say the same about you Lilly. You are the biggest inspiration in my life right now... Whenever I'm about to do something or when a situation pops up, I think what would have Lilly done or how would have she reacted! And even at school everyone including my teachers know how obsessed I am with you. When i got your book I showed it to everyone and one of my teachers was so inspired by it that she bought one too and later on she told me that one of her colleagues was very intrigued by the title of the book, thus, she would lend her the book!! At school, most students have nicknamed me 'BAWSE', well i hope it was because I was one but it is mostly because I've promoted ur book everywhere at school!!!!!! I got exams tomorrow and I was feeling low on motivation and I saw this video, and trust me, it is boosting up my motivational and hustling power so much right now!!!!!!! LOVE YOU SO MUCH.... Thank you for being the best BAWSE in the world...
