Been using Kontakt for a year now and I never knew about the output thingy, I had to literally add it on every channel with different libraries, this is so helpful, THANK YOU!
I have a problem with kontakt going really quiet after some time of using in cakewalk. Seems like every fader and gain and stuff is in place. Its that certain tracks from kontakt go very low volume that u can bearly hear it after some time playing back my song. Have u ever seen something like that?
yes it's a know issue... what happens is the cc value is set incorrectly in the vst and it triggers the sound to go down once it starts over... check out the Cakewalk form I m not sure if it has a solution but I know there is info about it.
this might be a silly question but is there a way to use the kontact libraries outside of the kontact app, i have so much stuff in my kontact app, it gets a bit slow.
Thank you for making this video. Using Kontakt in Cakewalk makes sense the way you show. Have you tried playing Kontakt inside Cakewalk using the virtual keyboard controller?
I'm glad you got something out of the video... I will have to try the virtual keyboard it should be the same as any other VST and work from what I know..😀🙏🏾
Thank you for this very easy set-up video. Only problem is - I follow this exactly and I get no sounds at all. My Kontakt synths work perfectly on their own, but in cakewalk, nothing at all. Any ideas?
Are you saying that Kontakt Instruments don't work at all in Cakewalk 🤔... Are you getting any errors? Does it play anything from the piano roll? Are you using the midi way or the single instrument way?
@@XELOhh1 Hey. So one problem was the midi port, which I had to change in Kontakt before going into cakewalk (couldn't find the full menu option in cakewalk). So now I can see the output on Kontakt within Cakewalk and I get midi data on the piano roll, but still can't hear anything, when playing live or playing it back.
I have been facing issues with kontakt in cakewalk. When I load an instrument in kontakt ,after some time the gain of the instrument goes down, then I need to reload the instrument but later the issue repeats. Is there a fix to this?
It's an issue in Kontact it's a known issue ... Some of the settings for some libraries are set to the wrong CC channel so it will default to zero and change the volume due to to CC setting are setup incorrectly.. at least that's what I read on the Cakewalk form.. you can check the form to see if anyone has a solution to this issue
Q: Is Cakewalk limited to an absolute number of 16 Kontact tracks via this setup? Can we repeat these steps a second time for a total of 32+ Kontact tracks? If so, should we select, "delete existing channels before creating new ones" the second time? Thanks you so much. (Liked & Subscribed!)
You can have multiple sets of Kontakt.. so let's say you have 16 tracks with just strings.. you can make another 16 track Kontakt with just brass.. and have another 16 track Kontakt with guitars.. another with bass etc... As long as your computer can handle it Cakewalk with make the tracks .. hope this helps... Let me know if you have questions
@@XELOhh1 I'm doing an orchestra composition that necessitates 26 tracks total. In your video, you state that 16 is that max to what Cakewalk can support. Can I follow your steps for 26 tracks, or will I need to do 16, and then repeat for 10 more tracks?
@XELOhh1 I got it. I thought about it after my comment and realized I was wrong. But a silly thing had me stuck. I loaded multiple instruments but couldn't figure out how to switch instruments. I finally saw the little orange tab on the left side of the instrument pane to select the specific instrument. I also figured out how to load a new instrument without clicking on an empty space below a loaded instrument. File, options, loading, select merge a new multi with existing one. Now I can just double click a new instrument and it will add it to existing instrument(s). Much better. Thanks for replying back, appreciate it.
I bought a 400 dollar interface, downloaded this and kontakt, got all of the get good drums packs, and nothing works like this video or any other video for that matter. Waste of so much money so far and I just want to write music
@@XELOhh1 I create the kontakt folder under advanced with instrument track per output selected, and when I do I don't get the midi keyboard and midi patterns like you do. The way it's a grid with the notes etc. The outputs section on kontact only has keyboard, master, and browser. I'm sure there are more issues, but I can't even get that far lol. For reference I am trying to get Get Good Drums invasion pack to work at the moment.
This should have so many views . Setting up Kontakt is a pain. Thanks for breaking it down
Thank you .. yea it can be that's why ai feel I need to make a video about it .. that ks for the comment..😀🙏🏾
Kontakt is a must, no matter what DAW you use. It's so feature-heavy, it's ridiculous. Thanks for posting. 💪
Yea it's definitely a must have... Even if it's just the player... Thanks got the comment...😀🙏🏾

It just started working. Then I ran your batch processing trick, saving for the future and now I'm away. Thanks.

@@art31david yes you will need to make 2 Kontakt in order to do 26.. so yes 16 for one and 10 for the other
My Windows is 64-bit but it doesn't find the contact software in VSTs
Open kontakt in stand alone first... Then rescan plugins in the DAW and it should be in the list... Hope this helps...😀🙏🏾
Aren't you creating 16 seperate instances of kontakt?
No 1 instance 16 channels uses less resources this way and you can group instruments alot easier this way... Let me know if you have questions...😀🙏🏾
