A little known fact: You can go into the system files of Ableton Live and find the WAV that the click plays. By replacing those sounds with your own WAVs, you could make the stock click any sound you want. There is a guide on the Live website that goes further into how to do it. But this is also useful!
I replaced mine with a hihat sound that is more pleasant to the ear. So even when its just the "click track" in my ear it is just a soft hi hat tick which is bearable through long sessions.
That’s a great point! That’s what I used to do before using foundations. Having the volume control over subdivisions is the reason I still use Foundations, but that’s a great reminder of that little hack for custom click sound!
to add to that, there's no need to replace the default .wav files, you can literally drag the metronome.adg preset into ableton, then replace the Metronome and MetronomeUp samples within the instrument rack with your own, then save it as a new preset, drag that preset into the same location inside the program data folder and it will be ADDED to the metronome drop down list under the preset name you saved it as. There's a metronome mega pack which explains how to do this and adds all 85 high quality metronomes to ableton however it is not as comprehensive and controllable as Foundations.
Hey I know this video is old but I was wondering if there is a video explains how to set up foundations to change volumes between songs in a set. For instance if I want heavy 8th notes on song 1 but song 2 to just be quarter notes, how do I get foundations to shift automatically between the 2 since all the clicks are on the same channel running through the same rack?
I add time signature changes into my set manually not via MIDI. The MIDI clip is only for programming the click so the accent is in the right place-not for controlling Live
Yep, totally agreed. I pretty quickly moved away from Live's click onto my own midi click. I do, however, use wood block sounds!!
I won’t hold that against you :)

"16th note goin a little too far, im not a weirdo" DEAD LMAFO HAHAHAHAH
:)
Are you able to change the keys of the clicks with Foundations? Some people like to have the metronome in key of the song. thanks
It’s an audio file so you can change the key to whatever you’d like.

Check out the support links here: fromstudiotostage.com/product/foundations-3-0/
Good feature thanks man :)
I was using Clyphx or some M4L tools to automate my click, foundation look easier.
Thanks !
Glad it helped! I'm a big fan of Foundations (granted, I'm a little biased) :)
Don’t you always run into issues using a midi clip to change time signatures? Then none of your stems are on the grid?
