what kind of kubota did you swap in there?
Was produced any stock diesel ranger there? Here in Brazil we have those old models Rangers with diesel engines made from MWM International. I have one 09 Ranger, 3.0l 163hp and 38kgfm torque 4x4 and four door cabin.
I’m from the area, the only diesel ford offered North America in the ranger was a 2.3 Perkins diesel, and I think it was only for a year or two in 1983 or 1984.
Almost all the rangers at this meet are 2002-2012 North American Body style. And either 3.0 v6 2wd, or 4.0 v6 4x4, with the odd exception of the swapped trucks.
In the 80’s, 90’s, 00’ diesels were often thought of as smelly and dirty, and for the poor man, so they didn’t sell very well in most platforms, only real diesels that were offered are the towing 2500, and 3500, big pickups, and the odd sedan and suv, light diesel pickups for fuel mileage hasn’t been a thing until recently, because fuel has been cheap as f for 3 decades until now.
There’s also another thing called the “banana tax” on foreign light duty pickups in North America, and as the Ranger is actually a Mazda, those rules apply, I won’t get into all the details of that law, but you can google it, it’s pretty dumb, yet another political power grab for USA big oil.

Could you do more with the ranger? I wanna see some makeshift power out of it... see how far you can get it... maybe put a stack on the back for just kicks and giggles and lift it
And maybe... see if you can make it a “tow rig” and see how much you can tow with it see if it’s possible. With that motor it should have plenty of torque but the weight of the truck might hinder it... but I wanna see it done

I have a v8 ranger splash 1997 , was there any rangers there with a 5.0 in them I'm in lumber city Georgia.
I believe the guy that runs the event has a 5.0. Might have been a few more but we don’t clearly remember
Had a 1990 ranger years ago with a 5.0 from a 92 mustang in it, also had a 3 inch exhaust... sounded awesome!

Well most of them around here are either rusty, beat to crap, mechanical problems,2wd, or base model
This video makes me want to fix mine up. Bought a 93 4x4. Xlt 3.0 from my uncle for $1000 to learn stick shift. But now I think I'm going to keep it and fix it up for my oldest. She'll happy in 4 yrs when she learns to drive.

Burnouts weren’t allowed, as we have to respect the park to be allowed back in the following years.
