    Zakey I am unable to create the custom shape with the Pen tool as you just mentioned. Anything do I need to look at? I am still learning Ink

    Split path doesn't work correctly on all fonts in 1.3(+). The proper way of doing this now (acccording to the developers) is to use Text>Text to Glyphs then Object to Path. The change wasn't really documented well and caused quite a bit of heartburn.

      Really? I didn't know about that. As long as I use the split path feature in Inkscape 1.3+, it's fine. But I appreciate your input. If people encounter any issues while using the split path feature, I'll make sure to inform them about it.

      @@ZakeyDesign that is the second issue. The change wasn't documented.
