Alternatively, you can skip to 2:55 in the video by going to File > New From Template, selecting the Shape Builder tab, and choosing Cross. Then, delete the default rotated rectangle from the template by using the Node Tool (N), clicking on it, then using the Selector Tool (S) to press delete. they added a template option so now you don't need to create ur own grid line lines... just go to file/ new from template/ shape builder, then choose desired gird, ur welcome.
@@ZakeyDesign although I just realised they don't have a standard grid sadly... I guess u could just create one and then save the template so you don't have to keep redoing the grid

Do a check point, i mean every 3 or five blocks, release mouse, and continue. The last you release the mouse is the last undo commit

What's the benefit of making your own wireframe grid, instead of using the provided grid in the document properties?
it wil automatically create a new shape with shape builder tool. the grid on document properties only for guides

make sure to enable snapping first (on the top right corner when you hover it Toggle Snapping On/Off)
