Don’t let the brushes soak inside a water bath Just put the micellarwater directly on the brush head and let that soak with the handle pointing upwards, otherwise you risk the glue inside the Ferrule(metal bit that holds the bristles) to losen thusly brush hairs falling out and losing their shape
You guys are Funny 😅😅😅.. It's so easy.. Buy one makeup cleaning bowl and put water in it.. Just pour 2/3 drops of dish washer in it.. Soak your brush in that water for 30 mins and then clean it.. Use your make up cleaning bowl's pad to rub the brush.. Thats all
I don't soak them as it's bad for the glue that holds the brush together. I wet them, then lightly dip them in @dawn dish soap, swirl them on the palm of my hand, which breaks up the oils from the makeup. I rinse them until the water runs clear and then hang them to dry.
I hang mine with a brush hanger that has suction cups so you can stick it to your mirror or shower door and put the brushes in the hanger. You can get them at Ross, Burlington, Amazon. If I have 1 or 2, I put a pony tail holder around my faucet and loop the handles thru it to dry...always with the brush head down.
Do not soak your brushes!!!! Water can travel up into the ferrule (the metal part that connects the brush hairs to the handle) and loosen the glue that holds in the brush hairs. You’ll ruin your brushes!
No you do not want to soak your brushes at least don’t let the water hit the bristle shaft. It will loosen the glue if it gets inside. You always want to face then down so water doesn’t get in. And you need to swirl the brush on your palm or you can get a makeup brush cleaning pad. I just use dr bronners diluted and I just swish the brush around. And then rinse the rest off but never let water get in to far. I learned this tips in the early 2000s from a MAC makeup artist, back when MAC was THE makeup brand. I still have my first MAC brushed I got when I was 15 in 2005. I still use them they’re in great condition and I credit it to how I clean them.
I’ve found Dawn Dish liquid in HOT water is the best. Then after they’re rinsed, I dip them in 70% alcohol and let them soak about 15 minutes. I take them out of the container, use a clean paper towel to remove the excess, and let them air dry. That acts as the sanitizer. You must sanitize after cleaning. They smell SO fresh and feel SO fluffy when you use them.
The best solution for stuck-on product is mixing mild dish soap, baking powder and warm water, getting the mixture on the brush and rinsing after 10-15 mins. The baking powder will lift dirt very efficiently.
Just use isopropyl alcohol. Dip the brush in and then clean it off on a paper towel. Keep doing it until the paper towel is clean. Don’t leave the brushes to soak in it or it’ll melt the glue holding the bristled in place
I use a bit of dish soap with rubbing alcohol added to it and swirl the brushes around in my textured silicone brush makeup cleaner bowl until the brushes are clean of make, then I rinse the brushes one at a time under warm running water, gently squeeze the excess water out, then swipe the brushes back and forth softly on whatever I'm drying them on (ie towel, gauze, etc) then mist them lightly with rubbing alcohol and lay them down flat to dry completely before I put them away Ps: When you wash your brushes don't forget to wash whatever you keep your brushes in too!! 😅
Dove makes me break out in hives! I keep a bottle of Dawn under my bathroom sink for my brushes and cleaning my shower/coffee pot/etc. So versatile and cheap!
I agree, bar soap is way more thorough for cleaning makeup residue and it rinses out completely. I have expensive liquid brush cleaners that don’t work as well. Bar soap is excellent for make up sponges as well for same reason.
This works for natural bristle brushes. Synthetic bristle brushes better be cleaned with soap liquid or solid! My prefered bar of soap is a virgin olive oil one.
The best make up brushes cleaner is extra virgin olive oil . Take a little oil in the palm of your hand and swirl the brush . When most of the gunk is out rinse the brush in soapy water . The oil will leave the bristles soft and un damaged . An extra virgin olive oil is also an amazing make up remover . Also repairing the skin cos it is rich in vitamin E . Good for skin break out ,psoriasis , acne , eczema and dry/oily skin . Olden days , we used to create a warm hair mask with olive oil . Repairing damaged hair . Olive oil girls no need of shitty soap
I use micellar water & a drop of Dawn antibacterial, then I use Ivory bar soap. Rince very well and air dry. I still have my first make up brush ever purchased (purchased by my Mother in 1985, she passed in 1988) I am now 53. Before micellar water, I used Dawn and Ivory
Put the brushes in a glass with warm water and shampoo, leave for 20 minutes and rinse with clean water. All the grease is dirt, it comes out without ruining the bristles of the brushes.
I actually find the very dense French milled soap bars to be very affordable and last a long time. Also, I don’t soak my brushes because it can damage the glue that holds the bristles in place..
I use aloe vera anti bacterial liquid soap. Far more hygienic and it does the job in removing make up. I wear dish washing gloves and swirl the make up brushes in the palm of my hand thats wearing the dish washing glove. So much better protection for my skin too. Each to their own. ❤❤❤
I might 😮get one of those twxtured silicone dish cleaning gloves. It will work well with using Dawn and rubbing them against your hands. I have been using a little cake of hotel guest soap, which works for my eye shadow brushes but not some of my face brushes. Especially ones used for foundation.
Dr Bronner castile soap works best. Bar soaps tend to leave soap scum, if not rinsed we’ll, which leaves the hairs a little stiff when they dry. Just my opinion 😊
That's cool! I use dawn dish detergent or Persil deep clean and Oxi with warm water that always helps; and when I'm done, I sit the brushes face down on a towel in an upside HUGE KFC CUP, that way the water just rolls down into the towel having them to dry faster🥰
Never soak brushes! It will break down the glue holding the bristles on the handle. Wash with soap and warm water, shake the water out and keep the brush laying flat on a towel until they dry to keep water from running into the handle.
I will only ever use dove bar soap. I tried Dr bronners dawn and so many other common suggestions. Dove is sooo much better than any other. I have never pre soaked my brushes in micellar water, but I may try that next time
Prop the ends of brushes up so water runs out of the bristles and doesn’t pool in ferrule. I roll towels up and do two rows. I also use mesh sleeves to shape bristles
If your makeup brushes are wooden especially, don’t do this or soak just the bristles because moisture will make the wood swell, loosen the glue and hairs will fall out, or mold
I like using any scent free (usually clear) dish soap.... makes me feel like I got all the oils and stuff out.... it's all preference tho.... just as long as your trying to wash them that's all that really matters.
Don't soak your brushes. It wil loosen the glue and they will end up falling apart. Same reason you wash brushes pointing downwards. Personally I have always used fairy liquid. Just a little dot per brush is enough.
I put shampoo into my palm Or on the side of the sink Swirl + rinse Another thing? Eye makeup remover Swirl brush into the cap with the remover Inside.
I personally don't agree. It doesn't work well. "Zote" pink laundry soap bar is 100% faster cleaner and it smells like lemon grass. 1 bar is $1 and 1 bar is pretty big.
For years now I’ve been using those little soaps that they give you in hotels and they work Perfectly! My dad sometimes brings them cause he travels a lot for work so yeah a hack for you 😅
Please don't do this. The ferrul should never sit in water. You'll ruin the glue. Even if it's only for a min! . . Take a plate put olive oil on one side and dish soap on the other side. Dip it in both.. a tiny dip..... then rub ut under water avoiding the metal band or where the brush is connected to the handle, and use a brush cleaning pad or finger pad. (The brush cleaners with ridges on them). Then buy the nets to place your brush in so you don't ruin your bristles. And let them dry (vertically) bristles side down. Or makeup brush holder made for cleaning but you can only fit like 14 brushes, the bets come 100 in a pack.
Don’t let the brushes soak inside a water bath

No i rather soak them
That happened to me..
Just what I thought when I saw it 👀 soak pans you don’t wanna wash, not your precious brushes 🥺
@@blushbaby5278 ok just watch your brushes fall apart
Yeah I’ve experienced my brush head coming off from soaking as well so I stopped
A bar of dove is exactly how I’ve always cleaned my brushes as well and it works great!!!
Same for so many years!!!
Thats all

Just please don't soak them. Swish them and then clean.
Dawn dishsoap with warm water is the best! Gets all the makeup oils completely out!
I use Dawn as well!
I use dawn too but it’s the antibacterial one, works super well
That's what i said!
It doesn’t make your face break out? Idk why I feel like my face will break out if I don’t use face wash but I guess your rinse it really well
@@rae7739 I’ve never had an issue myself, I do rinse them really well after though.
I just use baby shampoo on a textured silicon pad. You don't want to soak them and have all your bristles fall out
I do the exact same thing! My brushes have lasted years!
Same...I don't soak them. I just put the soap in the silicone pad...
what baby shampoo?
I don't soak them as it's bad for the glue that holds the brush together. I wet them, then lightly dip them in @dawn dish soap, swirl them on the palm of my hand, which breaks up the oils from the makeup. I rinse them until the water runs clear and then hang them to dry.
How do you hang them? What are you clipping them to?

If I have 1 or 2, I put a pony tail holder around my faucet and loop the handles thru it to dry...always with the brush head down.
Dr. Bronner soap does amazing as well.
I've only used aveeno baby shampoo to clean my brushes. Super gentle, hypoallergenic, and gets all the makeup out completely!
Zote bar is the best. Gets rid of makeup and oils. Leaves brushes squeaky clean and conditioned
Yes! Inexpensive and the bar lasts a long time
Yeah I use Zote too it's a Mexican soap Very good old School soap every Mexican has one in their house vthe best!!
Thank you! I highly agree!
And is eco friendly and biodegradable 👌🏼
I use the zote bar in the shower it does wonders for my skin and It evened my skin tone

Dove is the way to clean. I use Dove to remove stains from my expensive clothes. Works everytime
I am going to try this thanks sooo much
I use the HoneyPot regular vag cleanser. It’s lightweight and doesn’t leave a residue. Plus whatever is good for my little lady🐱 is good for my face😊
Saved life of my brushes & thnx 🫠
I did mine last night, i used pears soap as allergic to dove.
Gutted glue melts on a couple if brushes and the come apart x
I use Dawn dish soap & I don't let them soak just clean well with soap & hit water while scrubbing till they rinse clean ,
Oh my.you have my exact eclectic assortment of brushes...cleaning them is definitely cathartic
Blue dawn works amazing as well

Put the brushes in a glass with warm water and shampoo, leave for 20 minutes and rinse with clean water. All the grease is dirt, it comes out without ruining the bristles of the brushes.
I only use professional shampoo and conditioner on my brushes. It's the best !! 🎉🎉 so soft and supple !!
I actually find the very dense French milled soap bars to be very affordable and last a long time. Also, I don’t soak my brushes because it can damage the glue that holds the bristles in place..
For brushes you use with oily stuff, like foundation, try washing them with shampoo. It works great
Just use Dawn dish detergent. Very gentle and effective.
Yes. Thanks 🎉
Zote works just as well and it's less than $1 per bar which are bigger than doves bar. Highly suggest !!!
Use shower oil, so much less damage to sponges and brushes
This is what I do too! So easy
OMG…Thanks for sharing!
I’m saying this years !!! A dove bar of soap literally separates the make up from the brush effortlessly

Dove soap for my face as well, cheap too. Just as good as any cleansers.

Dish soap works like magic on makeup brushes
You can comb through and blow-dry them for even better results.
I use Dawn dish soap it works great 👍
Dawn dish soap and splash of vinegar really good
I use Ivory it works awesome I don't soak them I just work the brushes just like in the video.

Dish soap is designed to cut grease - use a little.
I use Dawn and white vinegar & a sigma brush matt & my brushes look brand new everytime
Thanks❤
Never soak brushes! It will break down the glue holding the bristles on the handle. Wash with soap and warm water, shake the water out and keep the brush laying flat on a towel until they dry to keep water from running into the handle.

Doves a little expensive in my area and subsitute it with safeguard soap in pomagranate but i will try with micelular water

Prop the ends of brushes up so water runs out of the bristles and doesn’t pool in ferrule. I roll towels up and do two rows. I also use mesh sleeves to shape bristles
Why did you leave one upside down 😢
It was a double ended brush 🥲💕
This also does a great job of dissolving the glue that’s holding the brush hairs in the actual brush….🤦🏻♀️

Super fast, simple, and works just as well.
Please do NOT let the water keep running while you scrub the brushes, Close the water tap when Not in use, Please do Not waste water
I use the Aveeno bar it works great.

Dawn dish soap and a small amount of olive oil. If you use only soap your brushes will become dry and stiff
I've been using dove bars to clean my brushes for many years. I've never bought brush cleaner, because the bar works so well
I use the white Zote laundry soap bar. Chop it up into blocks. And use them that way. 🥰😊
Micellar water only works with cotton. It binds to the cotton pad, removing your makeup.
Soap and water to remove dirt.... revolutionary 😂
Alcohol and a face towel works just as well and requires waaaaaaaayyyyyy less drying time
Dish soap works great for me
I finish with diluted witch hazel ❤
