Here are some alternative ways to play:
-Ante Up
Each round, the dealer creates a pot by throwing chips, tokens, or even coins into the center. The other players must match what the dealer has placed in the pot. The player who rolls the highest score at the end of the round wins the pot! In the event of a tie, the pot stays in the center for the next round.
-Chips Ahoy!
Each player starts off with three chips. The player with the lowest score at the end of the round places a chip in the center. Once a player loses all of their chips they are out. The last player in wins!

This is one of my favorite dice games of all time! My late uncle, who was a former captain in the US Coast Guard taught me how to play this roughly about 10 or 15 years ago when I showed him my dice collection. He said he learned it from when he was in the Coast Guard.
That is awesome! Thank you for sharing this. :)

Do you always have to roll both dice after getting a 6-5-4 or can you just choose to roll one of the remaining dice ?
You do not have to roll both. You can roll one or none! :)
Is there a version if the first roller stops after 1 (or 2 rolls,) then the other players have to tie or beat his/her score in 1 (or 2 rolls) ?
I have not heard of that for this game, but there are games that incorporate that rule. Thanks for watching, and thank you for the questions. :)
