    Both sound great to me! I would love to buy all 3! Korg Nautilus, Roland Fantom & Yamaha Montage 7. Thank you! 🙂

    Personally I think you can't go far wrong with either one, sound-wise. They both have great sounding patches. What really matters are features and ease of use.

    For piano I think they are equal, to me the Korg pulls way ahead with most of the other sounds such as stings and organs brass etc….

    every instrument is good, you just need to be able to make sounds ... and the best, the one who knows each function best, best regards

    Both instruments are pretty close and both are competent. Frankly, both suffer little from core sample libraries that are getting old. The Nautilus mostly uses the same samples (and same HW/SW) as the ten-year old Kronos (except for the pianos and EPs, which are a bit better.) And the Fantom, while Zen-core is supposedly new, bases much of it on the older SuperNatural and Fantom libraries--all the way back to the XV series. If you have an Integra-7 (from 2015), than the sounds in the Fantom aren't much of an upgrade, if any. Both of them sound a bit dated next to a Montage, which has newer samples that totally replaced Yamaha's older Motif libraries.
    It's worth noting that both of the Fantom pianos that you played are V-Pianos, which are physically modelled. The Fantom also has a good collection of sampled pianos, which might be closer in character to the Nautilus.
    Overall, the Fantom is a pretty decent keyboard, which is expensive, but seems to be getting regular enhancements and improvements and integrates well with DAWs. The biggest criticism of the Fantom is that the Zenology Pro VST has almost the same sounds and capabilities for a lot less money. The Nautilus is very disappointing, as it barely improves on the Kronos, which is well overdue for an upgrade and replacement. In some respects, like the screen, action and physical controllers, it's actually even worse than the Kronos. And it's not that much cheaper than the Kronos, either.

      Interesting comment. Thanks for sharing. With regards to the age of the engines, since they're emulating real instruments with great success as it is, how can they improve on it?

    • @geoffk777
      @geoffk777 2 года назад +2

      @@duel5071 You can take better samples, at higher fidelity and with more expressive range. You can increase the size of these samples and reduce the compression. You can improve the keyboard CPU to process more quickly and accurately and with better audio range. And you can add performance controls, polyphony and options. A good example is to compare the XF samples (included) on a Montage to the newer samples. The newer ones always sound more realistic and have better high-end and expression. And the scenes and superknob add to the realism by making performances more flexible and realistic. In a side by side comparison, older samples almost always sound worse. I recently replaced my Kurzweil PC3K8 with a new K2700. Although many of the samples are the same, the instrument as a whole sounds a lot better.
      As a side note, Korg just stopped selling the Kronos, so they may finally have a real replacement ready to compete wit the newer flagships from Roland and Yamaha. Nothing new announced yet, though.

      True, But the sound from zenology pro is flat compared to Integra-7. I mean yes its less money but the quality from the 2 are different. You talking digital vs analog

    As far as specs go, are they about the same? Currently phantom 08 is £16000 and Nautilus is £2000 I know the Nautilus has 16 track 24 bit recording etc, any BIG differences between 2 ? TIA

    Everybody seems to forget that every Korg model for the last 15 years has some kind of software/hardware problem! I dont want to pay 3-4 grand and my keyboard stucks in the middle of the gig! That's why in my country, Fantom G is sometimes more expensive than Kronos... And Kronos was a big hit back in the days... Me myself still play Fantom X, never let me down....and yes, keys, keys, keys.... No one beats Roland!

    does 66 and 73- key version of Nautilus has exactly the same keybad with Krome ex, or at Nautilus is better?

    • @rdboon

      The Nautilus 61 and 73 keybed is way better than the terrible Krome EX keys.

    • @yiannischartzoulakis
      @yiannischartzoulakis Год назад

      @@rdboon thx for your answer! The only reason + for Krome now is that its only 8 kg (Nautilus is 14,5) and 36mm shorter than Nautilus and will be easier to put it on the back seats of the car. This is important , because when I have to play with my band, i usually put 2 subs on the back seat, and i put the keyboards up on them. Triton and krome have no problem to fit, but im nit so sure about nautilus..
