      The rules really aren't as clear as they should be. I hope the video has cleared everything up for you. It is a fun game, so I hope you enjoy it.

    I honestly don't feel like the font is hard to read. It is close to how I write in regards to cursive, so I actually found it really easy. Just picked up this game myself and don't know how to play it.

      If you compare the font, iconography, and colour choices to cards from other board games, I think these will come out as harder to read than most. It does work for the theme here, and seems to be a purposeful, stylistic choice.

    The terrible rule book for betrayal at house on the hill (ver 1 at least) made the game unplayable for me and friends.

      I have the 3rd edition of Betrayal, and the rules are pretty tight now. At least, I haven't had any issues with it so far.

    The artwork on the cards is amazing. I had no idea that this game existed. I'm glad you got you to share this game. I might pick up a copy for myself and give the game a go. But the rules porsion of the video did put me off a little about getting the game. But all in all the game looks really interesting and I still might give it ago. Thanks for sharing!! looking forward to your next video :)

      The rules sound quite daunting when you lay them out, but it really is very simple. You just reveal a card, pass a card, or draw and discard a card, then you reveal an omen, and then reveal cards to defeat the omen. Obviously the presence of the traitor adds layers of complication, but overall once you have played once or twice, it becomes very fast and intuitive and you can focus more on trying to smoke out the traitor.

    Does the traitor play a major omen every turn after discovered? Or is it every other turn?
    We played this and the traitor played a major omen every other turn and thought it was weird so just wondering your thoughts! Thanks!

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  2 месяца назад

      I see where the confusion is here. In the rules it says "The traitor will no longer take a regular turn but will play an Omen card during every other player's Omen phase."
      In this sentence "every other" doesn't mean alternating, it means "all other"
      Because the traitor holds all the Omen cards, the loyalists no longer play an Omen card in their Omen phase - the traitor picks and plays all the Omen cards from now on.
      Hope that makes sense.

    Both you and the rule book do not say if you do not defeat a minor omen is it discarded, or do you have to keep it out until defeated? Do you suffer the penalty every time you cannot defeat it?

      As per step 6 of The Omen Phase in the rules, you discard the omen card at the end of the Omen Phase unless you defeated it and it was a hint.

    Can you add information on how to play the inquisitor? It doesn't have markings and I can't figure out if the inquisitor can't play marked cards or can play all things. Also does only the inquisitor get an extra card or does everyone?
    Also after you get past the green item cards do you shuffle and reset the used/discarded items, or are you just out of new items for the rest of the game? You seem to answer people so I'm hopeful you can answer even some of these! Thank you!

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  4 месяца назад

      Rules page 13 describes how to set up the game for five players with the Inquisitor. The inquisitor does not have an affinity for any particular items but starts the game with one extra item.
      Rules page 9 has a box out that tells you what to do when the item deck runs out. You can start pulling any card you want from the discards at that point.
