Sully role playing a drunk 12 year old wielding a spear AND a shotgun infused with the spirit of dead German priest is impeccably on brand lol Loved this episode! Probably gonna pick up a copy of Spooky House soon
I recommend it! It's a fun if long game with great horror stories and interesting situations. It's also got an expansion (Which has a mediocre set of haunts, some interesting new rooms including a new floor, some well-needed tips and rules and a chainsaw), a prequel game (have not played), and at least 2 themed versions (one based on D&D which I have not played and the other based on Scooby-Doo which is the series equivalent of a junior version AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR SCOOBY-DOO FAN AS EACH HAUNT IS AN EPISODE FROM THE SHOW) edit: I see they are playing with the expansion! I hope someone gets the chainsaw.
@@shaydystheshadowqueen9584 I HIGHLY recommend the prequel because it's a campaign style Legacy game. Some tiles don't get put in, cards are routinely destroyed or permanently marked on, and the story can change in the future depending on how you play. At the end, you get your own, fully customized version of Betrayal that you can play for years.
"I tell you what won't be a tactical error, DRINKING RANDOM LIQUIDS!" My goodness Sully, that made me laugh so many times. I had to keep rewinding it to hear that line and your drunken singing.
Well the word got around. /They said this kid is insane, man! /Took up a collection just to send him to the Vatican! /"Get your Ordination, don't forget from whence you came. /And the world's gonna know your name. /What's your name, man?"/ Alexander Anderson. /My name is Alexander Anderson./ And I like killing things because it's fun./ So just you pray, just you pray.
So Sully's characters experience in a nutshell - he walked into a strange house, went upstairs, found a couple of strange liquids, proceeded to drink them, got drunk, found a spear and a shotgun, stabbed a cat, and saw the priest he came in with die before him
I feel like the traitor made things more difficult for herself by not knowing that both herself and her monsters are not affected by anything that requires rolling or losing stat rolls. She might have chosen different paths if she knew she could go through rooms like the locked room that were barriers for other people. She also never picked up the effigy or any other items the father left in the elevator. They might have helped her out
No he’s dressed as a non copyrighted character who is just practicing investigating paranormal activities in order to do so with her three best friends and a dog
IF the remake matches the rules of the original, the traitor does not NEED to roll in any room such as the elevator and can take the result they want. They are one with the House. EDIT: Found it, 2nd ed page 17, " You can use any beneficial text on a room tile while ignoring any harmful text. You can pass through the Revolving Wall without rolling. You can choose where the Mystic Elevator goes when you use it. You still slide to the Basement Landing when you move onto the Coal Chute."
I love the random events this game causes. Nothing is more entertaining than finding out that your character (even better if your playing a child) feels hopeful while standing in a graveyard
Jon's rant absolutely killed me. 'Oh, is that a cat in the wall?! Better spend half an hour getting scratched by it!' This was a great episode in general; Rosie as the traitor was perfect.
I've tried to like betrayal because it's so popular, but every time I play my experience is like Jon's. Oh, an event. It seems I find a pile of rusty blades in the corner of the room and thrust my face in.
@@andrewshanks7053 I've not played the game myself but it does seem like the experience is a bit too RNG-dependant. These guys are always able to make great content from it though.
