This prescription cost 💲900.00 per month. Shame on these pharmaceutical companies in America. It’s a shame that we senior citizens would have to pay this.
Thank you…I have severe dry eye…along with it comes photophobia to the point I cannot be in sunshine without heavy darkened glasses and a hat. I feel lo,e a vampire and pray for overcast days if I must be outside. It’s awful. Just took my first dose of Meibo. Love the silky feel and we will see if it helps. Thanks for explaining it more😊
You're welcome! I hope it helps your eyes to improve more in the sunshine and indoors. There is so much hope for dry eyes. Let me know how your eyes feel in around one month (leigh@dryeyedirectory.com)
I do find that I always return to the IMed brand of eyedrops. And I have been using Cequa for almost 2 years and it took a good eight months before it started working on my inflammation.
Great information, great video! The explanation is very easy to understand! Thank you for sharing about "What are Miebo Drops for Dry Eyes?"! This video is exactly what we need.
The longest clinical study of perfluorohexyloctane eye drops (such as Miebo) for dry eye disease is the KALAHARI study, which lasted 52 weeks. There were no serious adverse events. We don't have any data beyond this time period
Since Miebo is sort of an oil, can it clog the meibomian glands? Also, how does it help when it penetrates the meibomian glands? Does it somehow dissolve the thickened meibum?
The mechanism of Miebo is still being investigated. One of the clinical studies showed that Miebo (perfluorohexyloctane) has amphiphilic properties. An animal study showed that Miebo penetrated the Meibomian Glands for up to twenty four hours after a single drop (Krösser et al 2018). In the example patient in the video, he had thick Meibum and then had flowing Meibum again after extended use.
My ophthalmologist prescribed this n my insurance would only cover part of it so my copay was $350. I got first month free from BlinkRx then after that it was NOT $60 a month.. it was $350. It’s ridiculous! I didn’t see much of a difference so I’ve gone back to over the counter Systane complete with no preservatives.
Thanks for sharing your copay with BlinkRx. It’s a lot more than I expected. Check out my list of best eye drops dryeyedirectory.com/best-eye-drops-for-dry-eyes/
I've tried them and I was hoping the burning in my eyes would go away, but so far it hasn't. I've only been using them for a week though. How long does that usually take? Also, can you use these with serum tears?
I’m glad your drops arrived, Kiki. Commonly drops like IVizia or Optase with hyalauronate tend work well first. Then drops like Miebo may be used about ten minutes afterwards. Have you tried this technique?
I've been using for less than 2 weeks and have severe dry eye. I put in optase first then these drops. I'm assuming I cannot use optase between doses as it will disrupt the oil layer?
Hello! I am in Canada and just bought the Nova tears from your online dry eye store. I am so excited to try them! Does one bottle generally last one month?
Hello! Thank you- one bottle normally lasts about one month. To get more drops in, I normally suggest to look next to a ceiling light. When the drop goes in, you can see a change in the appearance of the light. Like a wave of moisture across. Then you know it successfully went in. Hope this helps!
Miebo/Novatears is best used at least fifteen minutes before inserting contact lenses. At night, they can be used after contact lenses it is thought that Miebo/Novatears may have a synergistic effect with the natural eye oil layer. If studies confirm this, Miebo/Novatears may boost contact lens clarity and comfort. Hope this helps
I am trying tyrvya….stimulates the tear glad. Works somewhat but $400 a month….what a ripoff. I have had samples and if it was reasonable i would use it. Once samples are gone going back to refresh and systane…
Thanks for sharing your experience, Patti. Have you tried using these drops after another OTC drop like Ivizia or Hyalauronate Based Drops? These help to boost the moisture content, then Miebo helps seal in moisture
Thanks so much Leigh for explaining this. I did try Nova Tears but will give it another try.
Great- the studies show an improvement at four times per day for two months. I hope they help!

Only covered or you can use the coupon if you have commercial insurance. Once Medicare hits you're on your own, and that is an abomination.

where can I get Novateras in USA?
Any tips for application? The drops are so small, and at room temp I can't feel the drops go in.
I have to have enough light as I am putting them in, so I can actually see the drop go in.

It’s otc in Europe and Australia so what gives?
@@zacharybohlman4069 It's interesting, isn't it?
I supposed than you can made an order here in Europe ? Hylo lipid is the name in France, it cost 10€/11$ (3€ for me because i have a prescription).

I so need the eye drops. I have really good insurance and guess what I still have to pay 1200 for one little bottle by drops. Not fair at all

is there a reason for "10 minutes" later?
@@goodfella1337 ten minutes allows any excess moisture to settle. This helps the Miebo drops to avoid diluting
