    Why on earth would anyone continue to breed pugs and French Bulldogs is beyond me. These animals only suffer so much. 😢

    • @Chiller-pc1dv
      @Chiller-pc1dv Год назад +10

      Instead of outright getting rid of the breed, we should breed in longer snouts. Pugs didn't used to look like this, it can be done.

      @@Chiller-pc1dv no just stop.have you thought about all the animals till the body gets functional again? That would be hundreds in many,many years.all the tests with breeding pugs to beagles or terriers unfornately have shown that even if the offspring has longer snouts, they still have this problems.

    • @donnadehardt5728
      @donnadehardt5728 11 месяцев назад +3

      Actually no, I think you'd have longer snouts in the first breedings - longer shouted ones are rejected in the show ring, but they are around. The recessive shorter snouts could crop up in generations to come. But you could easily get to 75%.longer snouts fairly quickly.

      People are dumb. They think it's cute. To me, they always look like they are struggling. A dog shouldn't be wheezing after running for 3 minutes. Some breeds should be straight up banned. It's cruel and pointless. It's not like these are natural birth defects. Deliberately breeding birth defects into dogs is pretty evil.

    I'm glad to see Nugget made it through the surgery, but it sounded like he's just a single piggie when these particular animals are herd animals and benefit greatly from companionship from another guinea pig. Boys should be in pairs and females should be in pairs or groups to keep them from being scared or depressed and encourage natural behaviors between them. So to anyone who may want to get a guinea pig, please get at *least* 2 males or 2 females to give them the best chance at a happy life.

    I must say, time after time I see you fight the odds to give every animal that comes into your hands the best chance of recovery, and a life free of pain. No surgery is taken lightly, and quality of life matters in every case.
    The animals that people choose to make a part of their family can be unusual, but you accept them all, regardless of their species. You epitomize the qualities I look for in a Vet, skill, empathy, the desire to improve the life of the patient (however much or little remains).
    That you genuinely care about each patient shows in all you do…they are much loved family members, and you give them that dignity. No one could ask for better hands to trust with their loved ones when surgery is the only possible answer.
    From Dogs on the Streets, to the pampered celebrity pets, and everything in between…they ALL get the same quality of love and care, and you have all bettered the lives of countless grateful animals…and their worried owners/servants. Kudos all of you.🖤🇨🇦

    You really don't need anesthetic to clip Guinea Pigs nails or were you just doing it because he was anesthetised already for his eye operation.
    To learn how to clip your own Piggies claws look on RUclips for L. A. Guinea Pig rescue. We've learnt so much from them and tho we don't find it easy we clip our own piggies claws etc. NEVER been bitten by our piggies and I was very nervous as in the past had a very bad hamster bite into a finger joint. Not the hamsters fault, I was clumsy and must have accidentally hurt him so off course he bit. Piggies if you get them used to taking food from you that's the first step. 😍

      My guess is that the vet needs to get to the structure behind the eye first before removing the whole eye.

    • @irisgallati
      @irisgallati Год назад +4

      Hi there 😃
      I think it could be, because removing only the eyeball itself would leave you with a hole, where only the eyelids are left. They would sink in and leave a cavity, which is an ideal place for bacteria to grow and cause infections. This is dangerous because the eyesocket is so close to the brain.
      In a normal, still functioning eye, the eyeball needs to move around in the socket, and the inner skin must be a mucosa. Would you sew two layers of mucosa together, they might not grow together and therefor not heal.
      In this case however, Scott might have taken an x-ray beforehand where the tumor has shiwn up. So he knew he had to remove the entire eye.

    There is just one thing that annoys me. Why you don't always wear a mask while performing a surgery and why some have the mask and some don't during the same surgery. And what about your hair? I saw one technician with no mask and no cover on his hair. You say it's important to remove all the hair from the animal where the surgery will be perform because it could cause sever post surgery infections. What about your hair? Is that the reason why we can never see what happen in a surgery room for human? What would happen if someone would not wear a mask and an hair cap during a surgery for human? Just asking.... You talk about how important animals are for their owner but are you really doing all that you can to prevent post surgery infection when you don't wear a mask or an hair cap? Just asking ...
