Oh yes the vintage yet still useable gear is still alive!!!! Roland are masters of capturing samples and laying them across the keys with a decent amount elegance :) 2:30 was the SEINFELD sound 100
Amazingly good sounds for a 30 year old instrument! I just traded in a 22 Year old Ensoniq ZR-76 for the new Roland FP-E50. When they plugged in the Ensoniq to a Powered Speaker, I almost backed out of deal. These early Synths were incredible. Thanks for sharing, enjoyed listening.
I got mine out of the garage & dusted it off ...still works a treat, and the sustain pedal that came with it has a better design that doesn't slide around on the floor. My eyes are a lot older now though, so the writing on the top is really hard to see without getting 2 inches away 😂
I bought one a few years ago. some of the sounds you've played do sound like it, but there are a couple of sounds that I found to be very weird. not weird in sound, but weird is that I can't seem to find them. maybe there are still things I need to learn about it. I was actually wondering when there'd be a fullon video about it. like some of the bases I don't have, or I can't find.
Interessting as always, and of course the display shines without protection film....found out this week that they have the new fp e 50 since this year, amazing development nevertheless its an other category with 88 keys... Greetings, have a nice time
I got my Roland E-28 when i was a just a small child and the keyboard was a brand new model, still have it to this day. Works pretty well except that now some of the keys automatically play on the highest velocity no matter how soft i press the keys, so i always have to play with the velocity button off, so that all keys play the same velocity. A bit sad if i want to play soft music, but otherwise its not a big issue.
Yeah it's a pain and the outcome is never certain. The E28 still has reasons to live though, I recommend connecting other midi devices, there are some fun midi controllers out there that can make these old keyboards do some surprising things @@SiljeMeum
Hi, they're not that valuable unfortunately. With a bit of luck you might get $100. I've made a video about how to get the best results selling music gear: ruclips.net/video/mvzXERdMlCE/видео.html&ab_channel=Gearfacts
My first keyboard, but one of the keys does not have any sound, n had asked for help without any result. After all, it is too old. People said it is not worth fixing.😢
You can try disassembling it and cleaning the contact points underneath the keys. This often bring them back to life. There are plenty of videos on RUclips about how to do this.
Thank you for your reply, I already disassembled the whole thing, about 20 screws, and borrowed my neighbor's tool to clean the parts inside. Sorry it didn't work.
I can't be much help from over here in Australia, sorry. There are Japanese sellers on ebay who will ship worldwide, I've got a some great Great things from Japan in the past.
My first keyboard, bought it in 1996, still got it 😊 works like a charm to this day.

Yep I think that’s an apt description of Roland’s style 👍

Things like that are definitely a concern as one gets older :)
I have the same problem😅
Not bad for a keyboard which has been around since I was just 3! 👍👍👍
I think I was about 20 when I first saw this model.
The piano sound is classic Roland
90s piano sounds are beautiful
Roland always had it covered :)
@@pachecãox nowadays Roland has it as JD piano on their current digital pianos, keyboards and synths

It’s a pretty broad collection of sounds, the only unifying thing being that it is SO Roland :)

Thanks for watching my videos, I do enjoy putting this old gear to the test :)

Very Nice ❤️ Greetings from Germany 🙋♂️
Thank you! Cheers from Australia!
Do you think than the E30 is good for a beginner? I'm a little interested in synthesis and 80s' and 90s' style sounds, I have 0 knowledge
It's definitely at the beginner end of the market. Certainly not obsolete though, and it sure is full of 80's and 90's material :)
I still have mine yet more and more keys are getting sticky with dust. 😢
Could be refurbished, or you can control it externally. The sound engine makes it worth keeping in my opinion. :-)
@@gearfacts I love it dearly, but deconstructing my beloved keyboard is way past my skills. A big task!

El primer teclado que compré y todavía sigue funcionando perfectamente, solamente le cambié las espumas de los altavoces por unas de mayor calidad.
Cool 😎
I'm eying that GS standard sticker on there. Can hack up some cool midi tracks going on this keyboard.
GS is still a solid pallette, imho :)
I have one of these! Do you know how much these typically go for these days?

Was it always so noisy or it just needs recapping?
I don't know sorry.
How to get drivers for it?
You need no special driver. Connect it to your "normal" Midi Interface. That keyboard has Midi In and and a Midi Out.
Tenho um Roland E38 e acho ele mágico. Perfeito pra época que foi lançado, eu sempre quis um e consegui este em ótimo estado.
Sim, foi um ótimo começo para os anos 90!
I saw that keyboard that at facefront theatre
Cool, where's that theatre?

The original E-15 was better. I wonder why Roland replaced it with this. I suspect because of the looks.
Yep I think aesthetics is a big part of why manufacturers keep re-inventing what is essentially the same thing.
