I talk about a milestone anniversary and how it's been affecting my mental health with today's paid partner ➡️ betterhelp.com... (use my link for 10% off of your first month) and then my friend Katie and I reverse the boat, dodge low bridges and have fun along the way!

i love how cosy and homely you make your boat May❤
Glad you had a successful move with Katie. Also thank you for your insightful talk at the beginning about mental health. My parents were in the medical field; Dad was an Ob-Gyn and Mom was a originally a Maternity Nurse (that's the obvious way in how they met in the early 1950s) and then in the 1980s she switched, went back to university and got a psychology degree. Mom at nearly 98 years old is still a firm believer in "talking things out," and 20 years ago even suggested to me that I go to speak to a therapist when there was a break-up between me and a long-time girlfriend. And now the circle comes around a full revolution with my oldest granddaughter about to finish up her undergraduate studies next year and going on to her Master's to be a child psychologist. You young folks are very wise and thank you May for putting out the word mental health.
Wow thanks for sharing Raymond. Appreciate your story and kind words
Yeay, it’s May Day 😊 I always look forward to seeing your videos. Lovely to see you have friends who are there for you xxx
Aww youre so sweet, thank you!
Fantastic to see you on a high again and with good company too - precious times. Have a great week May 🎉
Thanks Paul!
Sorry to hear about your heartbreak. You seem like such a light and joyful young lady. Happy you have been able to make it through. Love your videos and wish much more adventures and peace for you. As far as I can see it looks like you are doing everything right.
Thanks Max! Im doing my best!
God is present in your life because you are being authentic. Thank you for sharing
Aw thank you!
THANK YOU MAY. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Thanks!!
Yes May! Better Help IS NOT ANY HELP! My daughter tried then and they did nothing! I could be better he'll for you than all of them - and I'm a retired accountant!
You are a very pretty smart young woman and seem to be making your life happy as you continue. Keep up the charming smile and believe in yourself. As you said in a past episode "I did the impossible!" Just keep doing that!
Oh im sorry to hear that, ive had only positive experiences. Thanks for the support!
...I think we come from the same generation given your comments...I don't understand myself.
You are a breath of fresh air with your positive have a go attitude 3 enjoyable years of May and her narrowboat adventures
Keep your positive attitudes you have a resilient spirit
PS your adventure with the canal bridge only made me a bigger fan
Haha thanks so much for your support !
One more bit of info - the bow thruster is a two-way prop mounted in the bow perpendicular to the centerline of the hull. It will push left or right depending on your control switch. Expensive but very handy!
Yes wouldnt mind me one of those
Greetings may from Canada 🇨🇦 thanks for the presentation and I am enjoying the last video about you selling your narrow boat for something bigger and longer, your latest updates are eye opening your numerous jobs and life in general on the river
Thanks for watching! I’ll be upgrading her for something a little smaller actually!!
Another great vlog may love the reversing team work 👏🏼
Another great Vlog May. Your honesty is empowering in itself. You have been on quite a journey over the last three years and you certainly express emotions you have encountered really well. Mental Health affects us all and you are more than qualified to recognise and have the coping strategies to navigate these difficult periods in life. It takes a different sort of strength to walk away, knowing it’s not the right direction for your life and you need to take a another path in your life. You seem to have wonderful friends and support in your boating community and in general. Your energy, enthusiasm and commitment to your lifestyle shines through, you should be so proud of yourself. Well Done May for the production of all your Vlogs which are not only entertaining but educational too 👏👏👏
Thanks for saying Clive! Sending hugs
sometimes making changes around your decor can brighten your mood, do some painting inside around the beautiful wood, for a fresh new change🌿🌷
Great idea!
It looks different fog 🌁 wow in enjoying the outdoors look like fun 😁 time
Katy the Bow Thruster...I like it!
Lovely to see your infectious good humour again. Thankyou for brightening my Sunday evening. I admire your amazing resilience in coping with the things that have happened in your life.
Aww thanks for this lovely comment
You are most welcome. I imagine that living on a boat means having a place for everything and everything in its place. I guess it also means having to figure out what goodies you can do without.
That is one of the great things about us humans, we have the resilience to decide that a situation is not what we want and set about going for what we do want even though it may be very trying to begin with
You are a star! Your exploring, updating and sharing is so important. MH is something I am particularly aware of and I am so grateful you are so open about it all ... much love x
Thank you! Its somethign im very passionate about!
One of the best things for my mental health has been cutting down on my caffiene. I only have it now on special occasions, maybe once a week.
A very honest video. For what ever reasoning behind it, you did a very brave thing a few years ago. It takes alot of guts to do what you describe.
Anyway good to see you getting on with it in partnership with a friend.
Thank you so much!
I love being a hermit. I enjoy meeting and chatting with people, but I’m also quite happy to be alone.
Aww thanks for sharing lovely Wendy
Hi May ,I really love it when you’re smiling , and you seem to be at your happiest when Georges around you get on really well together just it’s so hard to pick up after a major break up like you had but don’t give up on. Love , love is a fantastic thing keep smiling Cliff from Logan City Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺
Aww yes I am for sure happiest in the company of others, especially Georges! 🫛
😃😍🤩This part was more interesting for me. Moving backwards and crossing locks and bridges... Thank you and your friend Kathy...
21:52 It was very sensitive... the spider webs were all gone and the spiders are so angry with May.🕷🕸🕷🕸
Haha
Your Future will Change it good see u on boat 🚢 on yourself journeys ❤
technical point, a bow thruster is a propeller in a tube across the bow underwater, it is driven by a sealed electric motor from you battery system. You can switch the motor to run in either direction resulting in water being pushed left or right. Great gadget for a single hander.
Cool!! Thanks for the info !!
Yet another lovely video from your boat I really like your videos and nice to see you you're on the move again also what a lovely friend you have got all the best wishes Paul
Thanks so much 🙌
Canals were instead of bumpy roads and more direct routes .
We can see where Katie is coming from !
Lovely video , keep up the excellent work ,😊😊😊😊
Thanks for watching Adrian!
Hi,may don't dwell on ur past as it's no good for anyone and as long as ur positive like u are then you'll be fine whatever life throws at u,🎉❤
Its important to also look into the hard stuff and spend time with it, if you always push it away it comes back harder and harder. I'm strong enough to step into the darkness!
Ey up lass, glad you've managed to get moving again, have a good week, Kevin
Woo hoo, cheers Kevlaaa
In enjoying green 💚 trees 🌳 🌲 🌴 pretty views 👌 lovely see u on boat yoga 🧘♀️ good for mind 😀
May, as you well know your mid section rope is Frayed. Good time to replace before the season kicks in :)
Yeah it was my bow rope! Changed it over 😊
MAYS on switch that telly off Julie. Brilliant chill out with drink & watch something good. Well Done both❤😁 and a 👍 for youX🐰x
heheeee this made me smile
I feel your pain May! I'm in the simular situation as your ex partner, support is key in longterm relationship breakdowns xx
hi May 🎉 new subscriber here ! I could never live on a narrow boat - but love to watch you and others who do ! i would be very interested in seeing you making a Macrameé piece. I’ve been wanting to learn how to do it. it seems very versatile .
Welcome aboard! There’s a video I did with my friend and I creating the curtain. It was Jan 2023 we did it together and it was the first video back after Christmas I think!! See if you can find it ☺️
Well done I bet it feels good to be moving again after all that work. The thing with posh things like that teal boat is that you would be scared of scratching it. Your boat is practical. It's I was going to mention Mind as a contract for mental health but it sounds like you know more than me.
Soooo glad! hah yes, im painting mine this year and I bet ill feel scared to scratch it
@@wellbeingonwater I've just had my front room my bedroom and My Kitchen done so I know the feeling. You are incredibly talented I know you would probably say that your not but you are in my eyes doing all them jobs and opening up them locks and gates on your own most of the time. But like your Friend said once your on your boat you have to face your challenges. Or words to that affect. Well done and keep up the good work
Another interesting video. Once again thank you for sharing your incredibly fascinating journey with us. Praying you have a wonderful summer. Looking forward to future videos.
Thanks for the love!
Hi May🎉 love to see you back ont boat
Nothing like being afloat
And to see your lovely smile
Not seen that for a while
Tony ❤xx
Aww thanks Tony
Loved the video may. Bless you for being stuck for 6 weeks. Bet you felt stagnant. All the best for spring 🙌👌, hope you have a good year mate. Love your singing and forgetting words , I do that all the time lol 😂😜
hehe!! thanks mark
@@wellbeingonwater no problems look after yourself you're a good singer ,I like your singing n guitar playing your good look after yourself mate ✌️😀✌️
I had a spititual experience...short time after my late wife... passed over...
Almost 8 years ago not sure the 2 things are connected....but Wow.. Was just amazing....
But don't dwell in past or beat your self up my lovely xxx
Sound advice May, and many have been that path of about turn this isn't the way for me. It hurts and upset people you wouldn't want to, but in the long term it always works out. How many do you know that are married / living with, the wrong person but hang in there to make a bigger, deeper problem down that road. Always best to find yourself first before you hook up with someone else.
So true, thanks for your insightful words!
I like your bow thruster.
Learned something new today about pinning when mooring the boat especially after what you explained in the video thanks for being such an expert yachtsperson
Glad to help
Hi may it does get better but you just need to keep your self busy at all times you just to think of me of losing my best dad but am still struggling with with everything else but it does get better so you just need to keep busy at all times I hope this works for you may all the best from Chris Take care x
thanks for sharing Chris, you take care too!
May..a good idea to do a nice journey with such a funny girl ! Soul Sisters on the Canal ! 😉
Definitely!!
What a lovely video especially with your mate there to help you out 😊
Yeah shes a top lass
Loving the tunes this episode
Thanks!
Being inside your head can be a hard, the echos of the past, present impossible futures all fluid and flux. Like you said knowing the coping mechanisms are easy but to put them forward and use them it's a whole different thing. But you have to think of them as lit a candle they burn bright for however long you keep them. Or you can simply just blow them out. On a lighter note it so wonderful being able to let go and travel, showing other people (Katie) a different kind of world
Thanks martyn, you do have a way with words!
Your quite adorable May. Very nice to watch your videos.
Very enjoyable as always 😊great friendship ,come on guys show some love don’t just watch like as well .
Thanks Duncan 😊
Really like the well being on water
Thanks! me too!
I don’t like the word ‘quit’ too
Good night 😴 from Lymm away village 😴 u do excellent 👌 👍 😀 I hope things keeping 🙏 😊 u ok 👍
Ive lived like a hermit for most of my life.
Id be tempted to rig up some kind of rudder on the front of your boat, for long revering manovers. Even if it was just a canoe paddle with someone hollding it.
had a nice coffee and brownie there last Sunday then had a nice walk up to that lock and was amazed how low that bridge is also walked past your boat and had a chat to a few people moored up getting info as I would like to get a boat in a couple years time
Aww nice! Great to get out and chat with locals good on ya!
What was the experience you had that was spiritual to make the decision, would love an elaboration 🙂
It’s hard to explain!! When you put words to it it dilutes it!
What a cool way to live
🙌
Hey gals don't forget about the Romans LOL. Many British roads are made on top of the Roman ones.

Hi May.
Hey up!
Amazing video as always and sorry about your split up
Thanks! All is well 😊
May you were struggling with a nut and bolt many months back and I had suggested that yo invest in a socket set. If you have not B&Q have a nice set of 40 pieces on for about 40 pounds. I don't know if it is of reasonable quality but it is 3/8" and would have all the sizes of sockets you would need.
Mark

Thanks for the tip!!! I’ll go check that out
GREAT, let me know how it turns out. You won't regret having a good set and make sure you get both metric and imperial sockets in the set. Individual sockets can also be bought at another time. Also look for a set of "spanners", we call them wrenches. They wil compliment the socket set. Have a wonderful, fantastic day May@@wellbeingonwater
May ......looks lovely, you have an amazing talent, you my light of heart.so proud of you.shamim ⭐💔✍🕊🧜♀️🌷💏🤝🎎🫂
The fan that is on your stove just runs because of the heat, it does not use electricity. Is that right.
How would someone order from Amazon? I think you said you had family close. How would someone without family get packages?
If you ever, maybe, thought possibly about selling....let me know :)
Wow. What a crappy comment to make. Just letting you know.
@LokiOdinson-fz8ps no, not if you're an adult with confidence....always good to have options. It's how you take it. Sorry you feel that way.
Watch this space!
how is that heartbroken guy now?
Hes doing well! Were still good friends
May, can you post a screenshot of that link working please ? - When I click it, the website doesn't load, and instead it displays an error message 'This site can't provide a secure connection'. Thanks.
betterhelp.com/wellbeingonwater
that should work for ya 😊
@@wellbeingonwater@wellbeingonwater No, it still doesn't work, and it gives the same error message. I asked you for a screenshot of that link working, not for another link. In other words, you click the link at your end, and then post a screenshot of that link working, showing the webpage working.
You need another deck crew to help Katie. 🙋♂️
haha yes! she did so well
Here you go May, the words and music to Run Rabbit Run lol

Love your chimney cap, so creative.
Totally agree with you about not believing in the word "can't" no place in my vocabulary either.
Thank you May for sharing those personal thoughts at the beginning, you are such a deep thinker at times but you are so full of truth and awareness.

Loved the video but it’s a pity you’ve been sucked into the better help grift 💔💔💔
I feel the same, makes me want to unsubscribe to be honest 😔
I think we see things differently, and thats okay.
I think I’d appreciate it more if you said this video is sponsored by better help… then go on to talk about your personal experience. Because the other way round just makes me, as a viewer think, awww yeah here we go agin a sad story too lead nicely into a plug.
But hey, that’s just one option 😊Love your channel tho😊 n I won’t be unfollowing x
I love the channel too and won't be unfollowing. I do some work in neurosciences and that includes mental illness and neurodivergence. Sadly there is a lot of rot in the Better Help grift so I am always compelled to speak out. @@relaxreflect5888
There is so much controversy around better help. Ie. MLM. CULT. Vibes. I really wish people would deeply look into a company and do the research behind it before agreeing to have them sponsor their videos and ultimately be at peace with bringing them into the lives of their followers. There's a huge onus on you, as a RUclips creator to be mindful of the companies you choose to represent your message. Please please please look into them deeper before moving forward with them.
What did the Romans ever do for us? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
haha
i sense some regrets regarding your ex.. the grass is not always as green as you think on the other side ... thanks for being so pen about it
Awh no regrets! Agree that grass is greener but I 100% made the right decision!!
@@wellbeingonwater good to know!
why dont you move in a flood? you're in a boat
I prefer calm waters
Depends on what the vessel and your experience can handle, and if, in case of flooding or low water, you are even allowed to move your boat at all. Why would you put your life and your home at risk?
If flooding makes underpasses too narrow like in this case, or locks unpassable, there is still no alternative from keeping moored
Stick to telling us about your boating adventures. You risk your credibility when you go of piste.
I don’t ski!
ha ha - right - i say go off anywhere you want ! ( great response, May !)
Used talking matters, got some woman who propounded "mindfulness" (walk away from it and give yourself space) regardless of what you lose, in the way of employment, or benefits , et al. According to her i have PTSD from childhood trauma. Sorry girl you just lost an interested party
You do you honey. Take care
Ah yes, mental health is indeed fashionable at the moment, seems like everyone has issues.
The latest fad seems to be anxiety, Oh I can't work today because I'm anxious seems to be the mantra of the snowflake generation.
I find I like myself a lot more when I am understanding and compassionate
Do you have any hobbies? Are you still on the Oxford? Because there was a landslide on the Oxford, is this true? Sorry lots of questions. Sometimes it’s good to get advice from another party, because they see things you don’t. Nice to see you smiling, good to have a friend visit. ❤🫶🇬🇧
I beleive its still being repaired! I have many hobbies, music, cooking being the main ones. ✌
Sorry May got your name working 🥹
Sorry took so much time to connect With you
Fucked up the spelling 😇
