Insightful observations, commentary and fantastic views! As a lifelong outdoorsman and a practicing forester, I appreciate all aspects of your videos. No one saw fells here anymore, all mechanized. Love watching your techniques, I miss that part of the business. Excellent, excellent, excellent!!! Keep it up!!
Saw the GLINT in your eyes on wanting to check that last creek, Bjarne. 😉 😁 Thanks for exploring on a day off. Enjoyed sightseeing the area around camp. 👍
I sure did enjoy walking with you from my warm easy chair while you searched for gold and great scenery. That's an incredibly beautiful area... thanks...
Great scenery and plenty to walk. I’d call the landscape near the end, a hanging valley. Basically either a valley within a valley or an enclosed valley as either an off-shoot to the main valley or a bowl on the side of a valley, often with a pond or lake. Thank you for sharing your mini adventure.
Wow Buddy that wind was HOWLING THERE ! SHEESH ! Man that looked like such a cool place...you can pan for gold and I will go catch a mess of fish to fry up quick for shore lunch....eh ? What a nice way to spend a blow out day ! Had to stop watching yesterday about halfway thru so finished watching this morning..before we head out to work.....and yeah you didn't make any big gold strike money today but you took us along on a really cool trip anyways. Thank You very much.
As a BC retired logger too, I wish you would give us the locations. Blow outs were fun, fishing days. Best location I was at was head of Owikeno Lake on Rivers Inlet.Griz Country had eyes on all the time fishing, that was pre incinerator days, dump sites were fun, slingshots , we were nuts.
@@BjarneButler so really not that far, from Rivers, it looked like Mainland, the Islands have differing looks, yes keep your claim secret, is it staked yet LOL Every once in awhile I Google Earth some Camps and just Alder Patches now. Owikeno Lake, Husby areas, Louise Island are still my favorite Memories, on Louise seeing the abandoned Mathers camp, ( boots, saws still in old rotten buildings) and I don't recall the sites name where the old steel wheel trucks, wooded roads, steam donkey, and Cemetery were, but was so much fun poking around on blow-outs, taking a inflatable to Hot- Sping island, at end of inlet, last time there just a month before the quake stopped it's flow, now apparently it hot again. Never made it to a Bevan show. Recall the protests though. Your Dad must too.
I was wondering whether you take your own lunch and one for any bears you come across. You know something that'll keep them busy for a while. It'd be interesting using a sonar on those lakes to find the deepest holes and then using a small floating dredge and sluice to see what colour you get. I'm sitting here in shorts and I guess you'd find that exercise a bit colder. Even those inlets would have some interesting deep crevices. I guess it's a silly question asking if there's history of gold in the area. Many years ago I bought a metal detector and used it in some of the most isolated parts of Australia and I wondered if I was the first person to have ever crossed that bit of the country but all I found were those damn aluminum ring pulls from soda cans. Hey you never know unless you have a go.
That’s true, don’t now till you try. The camp provides lunch. They have a big lunch table and we grab what we want. Never had much of a problem with bears. Chainsaw scares them away. There have been cougar and bear attacks but not often. It would be interesting to find out how deep some of those lakes are. I forgot my pan this shift so I’ll have to make sure I remember for next time
Great stuff. I’d love to walk around there, hell, I’d love to be able to walk again. Since I can’t, you’re walking to these places for me, thanks😜. I have a question that bothers me when I see what is left after the crews are all gone, that is why don’t they clear everything out? All the dead trees and what not. Doesn’t that end up being fuel for a fire? I imagine it doesn’t hurt new growth. That one section you walked through near the end was full of bones.
nice and different I love watching u making art with your chainsaw but it's nice to see lake and crick if a have something to change its the noise of wing I don't know if u can do something but its just a remark
Miners secret: Instead of digging in the creek which won’t have much of anything on top Take moss from high up on the creek side where the water was at flood and wash the trapped gravel in your pan. BINGO
always fun watching you, not sure what it is but maybe your a good talker, explainer, something, shit maybe cause of the Canadian accent, LOL, be safe . Also whats is the wild life situation there? bears? Snakes? Homesteaders?
Laughable effort to find gold on that creek. You scooped up sand and gold is 19 times the weight of water so will sink way below where you were looking. You need to check bedrock and gold if the gold is present it will be down in the cracks. If the cracks are packed with gravel the better the gold.
Less hiking footage, more panning footage next time please. Would love to see you find a chunky piece. You seem to know your rocks but you panned the overburden and didn’t get to the good stuff on the bottom. Check out “Two Toes” on RUclips, he’ll teach you how to find gold in a vid or 2👍
Ya I was using my iPhone. Didn’t occur to me at the time that the wind would affect the audio so bad. I’m currently upgrading to a actual camera and a wireless mic
Hope it doesn’t get old to keep hearing, “Thanks for sharing!” It’s just fun to see what’s out there more for other people. Cheers!
Away from the tree cutting you are a great story teller.
"...second breakfast..." (chuckle) Always a worthwhile adventure!
Crazy to see the landscape you live in
U have the best office on the internet. Thank u for sharing
Stay kind

Everyone needs a “Blowout Day” once in a while to enjoy life and what it has to offer!
Beautiful country for sure. Thanks for taking us along. Those hair ice crystals were bad ass.

Thanks for watching Jack 🤙
thank you for showing the HAIR iCE phenomenon that forms in certain latitudes
Thank you for showing us around today. Way too cold for you to do that. Really enjoyed the video.

Yup, I was thinking the same thing about knowing the location.
Sounds like the good ol’days. Can’t give too much away but it’s near Bella Bella

Glad you used wood boss, going to have to order some apparel. R/Sabbysaw
Well, if/when you get “Starlink”.., you can start your own internet service.., for the whole camp. “Starlink” is just amazing.
Good idea make some extra money on the side 👍

18:40 Limestone is a calcite rock. Calcite and Aragonite make up limestone. They are just different crystals of Calcium Carbonate.
Cool. Thanks for the info
Definitely a big chunk of leaverite. 🤣
Haha yup
Love these videos! Question, do you ever see mountain lions when you're out in the bush?
Only a couple times. Luckily from a truck.
You have some really cool video let me know if you ever see bigfoot
Was it too windy to fly or to fall?
Both
is that whole part at 16:00 replanted? Just wondering since those trees look oddly spaced to me.
Yup all cut blocks get replanted
hello mr butler what does it take to get a job working where you work
Everybody else sleeping or watching movies? 7:47 fossils in those layers? Are areas previously logged replanted?
Yes it’s law here. All logged area are replanted

Good lord you need a cameraman. Might know a guy. Lol
Ya I get to see some cool stuff out here. A professional camera would be amazing, especially with someone who knows how to use it 😂
Where ya located buddy
BC coast, I work all over the coast and the Vancouver island

Check out the channel Rodney in Vancouver, the series Big Timber is on there.
do you ever take a gun with you in case of bears?
Nope. Just bear spray
@@BjarneButler respect….you are livin the dream…whats the fishing like?
Couldn’t hear a lot because of the wind. Bad sound quality.
