Why are there so many comments telling me I "missed" the door after the Witch, when I specifically commented on the door at the end and said that I was going to go through it in the next video?? ?!?!?! I appreciate wanting to make sure I don't miss something vital, but please at least watch to the end and listen to the things I say in the video first 😬
John, I'm glad you've commented on this. Most people don't watch your videos til the end yet insist on convincing everybody they know everything. Please stop backseating like you're some badass BB speedrunners, but even all the excellent players I've watched don't appreciate any backseat gaming behaviours. Just try to be respectful.
The soulsborne fans (myself included) like telling people as much as possible so they don’t miss hidden areas, loot and NPC’s just in case it lessens the experience in anyway, I’d assume this is to try to get people into the genre as it can easily turn people off. Just wish some would calm down, you are a very thorough player. In every episode you run around every corner of the map making sure to snag everything, and missing stuff (if you do) is part of the fun, especially if you want to have repeat play throughs I know I’d watch you play it all over again Anyway keep it up I’m really enjoying this series edit; I just want to clarify that I don't agree with spoiling anything to do with the game, especially certain moments. I'm simply just defending the mind set I believe we have as a community.
I just started the video, but I do expect you to not get every single thing. Bloodborne is very rich with content. You could literally make several video series on this game and you will still discover new things.
the crow that wasn't flying towards you in the pile of crows by the shortcut lift was a friendly crow, he's the only one in the game that doesn't attack
Seriously, I love how they were able to embrace the Lovecraftian vibe of "interesting and repulsive" rather than go the generic horror route. Nothing is like... particularly scary about the enemies on a basic level, but the ragged textures and SFX and such really sell them. The art book is a great way to admire all the details that go into them. You can really tell they modeled them like the detailed sketches instead of just putting a plastic ceram wrap model over them, so to speak.
Great playthrough. Two things: - In that one lane in the Cathedral Ward with a bunch of people to talk to, try going back. There's someone you can send to Oedon Chapel. - The woman you found cowering in the Gaol seems pretty religious and afraid of hunters. Might respond better if you're dressed in something more Church-appropriate, maybe more snazzy and less murdery.
The cowering lady is dressed in black church hunting attire so she should at least know a little bit about what hunters dress like so her being scared always seemed weird to me (after I learned the lore)
One of the people you can talk to in cathedral ward doesn't seem to trust you at all. He might not go where you send him. Perhaps consider this when deciding where to send him.
Yessss perfect way to end the weekend. Couple of non-spoiler tips: - Yahargul is tough at this point, yeah, but make sure you return and do this area before you jump into any lakes. - The Moon you found is a rune, an item you can equip with the right tool at the Workshop. Runes give a variety of buffs and static effects. - Try revisiting Iosefkas and speak with her again. - After that, go check on the people in that place where there were like, 6 doors with lamps right next to each other. - The woman in Yahargul might be willing to speak to you if you are dressed differently.
I love how he upgrades the saw cleaver to +6 and then proceeds to fight the toughest enemies in the area with the +3 hunter axe 😂 No shade at all, just thought it was funny lol
This is the only playthrough of Bloodborne I actually didn't lose interest in. Never thought John would play it on his main channel, so I'm very excited to see it through
I think it's mainly because John is pretty competent at the game. He dies, but always seems to understand why and never blames the game, so it's really enjoyable to watch imo
I really appreciate the effort that went into editing this to cut out the filler of you backtracking/going through an area again to collect blood echoes. Makes for a really good watch compared to how some other creators might just upload an unedited take, or cut out too much of the gameplay so you miss stuff.
Im surprised no ones told him he needs to be repairing his weapon!!?? Its the 4th video and he keeps wondering why he all of a sudden does terrible damage
@@bo4287 I guess you missed me say this in the video, but every time I got to the hunter's dream I repair my weapons. I also have never wondered "why am I doing 'terrible' damage?" before, so not sure where you've even getting that lol
I address the... let's say, not-so-vague spoilers that I've been getting, at the beginning of the next video. But yes, many people mentioned getting intentionally kidnapped to go to a new area.
Leave it to a Japanese dev to nail Victorian Gothic Horror lol I know it's probably impossible, but if only BB could come to PC. Imagine all its graphical potential. I could take screenshots of it all day!
@@ndbd9drn man forget graphics (although upscale would be sweet) I just want 60FPS and to be able to play it on the road on my laptop. Its a shame emulators haven't been able to crack PS4 yet.
@@vangoghsseveredear iirc there's a 60fps mod in development for PS, but yeah it'd be nice to be able to play it on laptop. There are a lot of rumours that BB will eventually come to PC but not sure how legit they are.
@@ndbd9drn I think those latest batches of rumours were also BS... unfortunately that's a pain the BB community deals with every couple of years. Some "leaker" comes out and says "oh yeah PC port coming soon, watch for an update" and every time, nothing. Looks less and less likely every time, what with PS5 not receiving any kind of update either. I mean I guess it runs smoother, but its still locked to 30fps and everything. The big problem is I think damage is linked to framerates, so its not as easy as just unlocking the framerate, and we know From is busy with Elden ring. Wait and see I suppose
I feel personally that Bloodborne is the most fun and easiest Souls game to get into. I just don't enjoy the slow, plodding combat of Dark Souls. Bloodborne appeals to me more from a gameplay and atmospheric/setting perspective. Really hope we get a Bloodborne 2 someday.
Perhaps the lady in Yahar'gul would be willing to talk to a member of the church...or someone dressed like one. Also, the commenter didn't quite mean roll towards, quickstep(lock on dodge) towards the attack. You have invincibility frames during the start-up of a dodge, so you can dodge through most attacks with good timing. If you're caught by a grab attack like the one the Witch did to you, try pressing all of the attack buttons rapidly(L1+L2 R1+R2), it reduces the amount you take drastically
Stop spoiling the game for John! He's a bright guy, he'll figure it out! A cryptic nodge in the right direction is ok, but you just took all the mystery away and completely spoiled it.
John, I'm glad you are finding utility for the Hunter's Axe! The Saw Cleaver is a top-tier weapon, it feels like the weapon that they balanced the whole game around, but there's still some situations where it's not overpowered. Tips: •I suggest going for Ludwig's Holy Blade, a great STRENGTH weapon. You can get to it by ascending the tower through the newly opened door in Oedon Chapel. •The Strength stat has diminishing returns after level 25, and a soft cap of 50 (you can level beyond 50, but it's drastically diminished returns). Please feel free to level Arcane or Bloodtinge if you need to in order to meet the minimum requirements for using spells/weapons. Most STENGTH builds will be something like 40 VIT, 25-30 END, 45-50 STR, and then you can go for a secondary stat (Skill, Arcane, Bloodtinge) to level to 20 or 30. (There used to be a community-agreed upon "level cap" of 120 for PvP, but there's not much PvP these days, so you can level past it, it's just not likely in the natural progression unless you grind or enter Chalice Dungeons) •Your playthrough has inspired me to start a new game of BB! I am happy to report that the Co-op community is still very active, if you were to get PlayStation Plus. It's very beneficial to help other players defeat a boss so you can get a ton of Blood Echoes and practice the boss before attempting it yourself, or you can summon real players to help you (they tend to survive a little longer than the NPC cooperators) •Try speaking with the NPC just outside the exit of Oedon Chapel to the left, straight from the Cathedral Ward Lamp •You can also speak with the Lady of the Night and the Skeptical man NPC's in Cathedral Ward to send to the Oedon Chapel. •You can also now access the DLC, where that strange moving portal thing killed you outside Oedon Chapel, but you'll want to be way more powerful to take it on (level 70 +, and a +10 weapon) •Chalice Dungeons are not part of the main "story", but they are kind of neat optional dungeons. I'd give one a try just to see what they're all about, the first one is super easy (3 levels, 3 bosses, all very handle-able with a +6 weapon). Most items you get from the dungeons (aside from making you more powerful), will have lore descriptions related to the tomb of the gods and the previous civilization that Yharnam is build upon.
@@shellbell5537 and if im not mistaken when *SPOILERS* when the blood moon appears and you go back there the chants stopped because rom died and the old one appeared making any survivor turn into either a beast or a "alien"
Yeah a really interesting thing about this area is that the singing gets louder when you leave the building. I legit got chills when I realized that it wasn't just background music but literally people in the game singing somewhere in the town.
@@TomLostWave the old one doesn't turn people into aliens~ The experiments of people did in order to create the celestial emmisaries. Hence the DLC experimentations and the living faillures boss
As a general rule of thumb, I’d be leveling Endurance and Vitality together and keeping them around the same level. Of course, you don’t have to do that, that’s just me, but do definitely make sure you level endurance a bit, how much stamina you have can be the difference between life and death
Dodging towards the enemy is often recommended because many enemies have strong attacks designed to chase down dodging away. The goal is to dodge through their attack and past them, so they lunge forward with an attack and dodging towards ends up with you behind them while they're still recovering from the attack. Of course, it's a better strategy against some attacks than others.
John, you're actually much better at this game then I was; I usually could take down one or two bosses a week, let alone one a day. But there are a couple of combat mechanics you don't use much that I think would make the game easier. (1) Sneaking up on enemies may feel slower but it ends fights faster and is less risky then a head on attack. The game encourages this with enemy positions and paths. (2) Dashing and leap attacks. Tap O while moving to dash forward, press R2+forward for a leap attack. These are helpful as you can close the gap faster especially when an enemy is vulnerable. (3) Strength will soft cap at 40, I'd invest more echo's into endurance and vitality, preferably getting them to 15 and 25 respectively, before investing anymore in strength. Anyway, I've really been enjoying the playthrough so far! I'm so glad to see you enjoying yourself!
Even after playing this game twice, I am loving the playthough. Btw, be sure to return to hemwick if you discover any special documents about a place called Cainhurst.
hey john! just wanted to say ty for this series, i've been dealing with panic attacks lately and it sounds silly but these vids have been so helpful in grounding and helping me calm down. ty for all ur hard work!!
Probably a lot of other people said this, but the reason it's beneficial to dodge forward instead of backwards is because lots of enemies move forward a lot when they attack, so if you go forward they'll slip right past you, but if you go backwards you'll end up right where their attack ends up.
34:45 LOL! Omg. The comeback from the NPC was sooooo funny and _ON POINT_ with timing! 😂😂🤣 That’s what John gets for SH*T-talking, eh? Lmfao. I seriously laughed outloud too much at this comedic timing.
John, you can use the pebbles to aggro one enemy at a time. Also, throwables CAN be aimed without locking on by adjusting the camera, but it's kind of unreliable
I hope you are having fun, John! It looks like it and your commentary is helping me. I never got past the part of the game you stopped at 2015 and watching you figure things out and the engagement you are having with your audience really makes this fun!
For the bag people, my tactic was that: when they go into the rage mode, quickly go behind them when they do the animation (they won't move when they do) and backstab them (hold R2 and then R1 when they fall on their knees)
The backstabbing mechanic is so obtuse in this game. Its not intuitive at all to fully charge an attack behind an enemy. And then do a visceral. Whereas in Dark Soul you just hit the light attack button and blammo. Unique animation and everything
Nice to see you've enjoyed the game! And by the way, yes, the emotes/gestures you get from talking to other NPC's are a way to communicate with other players online. You can also perform those in front of the Plain Doll and see her reaction. There is one gesture, however, that is vital to the game.
You should return to cathedral ward, remember the alleway where there were 4 houses with red lamps and there was a house with a woman infront of another one where there was a old man? Go back and send them to cathedral ward, they both can be saved
You shouldn't send the old man to the cathedral ward! Spoilers ahead! The old man will always go to the opposite place you tell him because he doesn't trust you. If you tell him to go to cathedral ward, he'll go to the clinic and vice versa. If you want him to go to cathedral ward (which you do), you need to go back to iosefka's clinic, talk to "iosefka" through the door where she'll tell you to send people you find to the clinic, then go back and tell the man to go to iosefka's. That's the only way to get him safe to Cathedral Ward. He and the suspicious beggar you find in the forbidden woods are the only two people you should not tell to go to cathedral ward. The old man because he won't listen to you, the suspicious beggar because, well, let's just say he's suspicious.
Been enjoying this series so much! I used to say 'I'd give anything to experience Bloodborne again for the first time' and this is kind of giving me that experience!
Thank you for sticking with this playthrough! I imagine even though you gave everyone a stern set of boundaries, you still get plenty of jerks in the comments. It's is so much fun to watch you play one of my favorite games and experience it again for the first time through/with you. The sense of discovery, accomplishment, frustration, all of it. You rock :]
Adella, the cowering woman, won't talk to you unless you're wearing one of the following body pieces (hats / leggings don't matter): - White Church - Black Church - Gascoigne - Choir - Tomb Prospector - Executioner If Adella goes to the Chapel, and you accept 3 or more vials of Arianna's blood in Adella's presence, Adella will murder her on the next area transition. Allowing this to happen will drive Adella insane and require you to kill or avoid her. If you intentionally withhold sanctuary from Adella, you'll find her corpse later.
This is quickly becoming my all time favorite let's play on youtube. It's been a real BLAST to watch! Also, the "roll towards enemies" is more like "roll towards where the attack is coming from, so you can go through it with invincibility frames"
Yoooo, I'm happy to see you enjoying the hunter's axe! I used it through the whole game, at least as a backup weapon. Also because of this (5:55) Knocking crowds of enemies on their asses is too much fun. The axe also regains a larger amount of hp per attack than many other weapons, which is nice I think I remember you saying in one of the previous videos that the hunter's axe doesn't have transform attacks like the cleaver, but it does! I may be misremembering if you've tried it though. It's transform attack from axe to halberd, has a long-range poke. Situational, but nice to know I've been loving the playthough, thanks again John!
When you wield a two handed weapon like the Hunter’s Axe, you can press L2 while it’s transformed to use a heavier sweeping attack pattern which causes some larger enemies to stagger more easily
Just wanted to say as someone who's never played a Fromsoft game before but was always curious about Bloodborne, I've been absolutely LOVING this series! It's really nice to see a playthrough in 2020 from someone who's a beginner like me, so I can enjoy it vicariously without having to be a weenie creeped out by the atmosphere. Lovin' it, John, and looking forward to more!
you're doing great, john! a mild tip i might give is that strength and skill are both 'main' attack stats, the difference is mostly that different weapons will scale damage differently based on the two, from E to D, etc. etc. with it climbing higher as the weapon is upgraded and whatnot, accounting for whatever levels it already starts at. pumping strength is more than fine, but to make the most out of it you might have fun checking out a weapon like the kirkhammer, which you already have and also scales really well with strength! it's mostly just a thing to keep an eye on, because it's the kind of thing that lets you get the most out of your stat investments. things like the saw cleaver have relatively balanced scaling, so it works fairly well with that in any case.
Love the moment of - i dont really need a short cut right now, then dying moments later. Perfect timing of that statement, ah the charms of Soulsbourne games
Bloodborne tips: - Repair your weapons! They degrade over time! - Endurance matters a hell of a lot! - Return to Yahargul before hopping into any water. Also, return afterwards. - Beware of insight, things get weird if you have too much. - insight can be spent as currency! - yeet pebbles at a singular enemy to bait them toward you! - stick to one weapon tbh, makes upgrades more reasonable as currencies are limited. - some enemies are weak to things others aren’t (ie: fire paper). - although sneakiness isn’t an option, backstabs ARE. - gun is not for damage, gun is for optimal parrying. Shoot right before they do an attack, and bang bang big damage time. - fire big ouchie, clearly. - tentacle bois take your insight away from you - eyeball witches (as found in the unseen village) will also take away your insight. - if you have 0 insight, then you can’t level up as you can’t level up via the doll (her activation is tied to having at least one insight). - hemwick lane ladies are weak as fuck but fast as fuck, beware of zoom. - beware of imposters of all genders - almost anything can be parried - tiny strange little bois who skitter across the ground give good good loot. murder them. - if you can see it, you can get to it! - every area is connected even if it doesn’t make logical sense. the world is literally stacked on top of other worlds and areas. the lore of bloodborne is insane and crazy. - in the far future, beware of spider. - tbh beware of all dog types, including werewolf - transform attacks do big damage, but there is a time and place for all types of attacks. - you can spam the lock on button if you don’t know if an area is safe, so you’ll lock on to something that looks like nothing. good for dark areas! - if big boy do big damage, parry. big boy normal enemies (ie, not bosses) have very predictable animations and are easy to parry. - locked on makes you dashy dash, not locked on makes you all rollie pollie. use to your advantage. - oedon chapel is friend, not food. incredibly friendly boi, i love him, please don’t murder.
@@risacooper hes done half of these things. And the other half is either bad advice or common sense Bet this guy just looks for blind bloodborne playthroughs to plaster walls of text trying to micromanage everything in the game

I'm completely addicted to this play through ! Here it's been raining and cold all weekend, perfect atmosphere for bloodborne haha. I'm new to this game and so far I'm loving it. I'm especially amazed by the graphics ! I can't wait to learn more about the lore and story.
This. I can confirm this is true. Pretty much any enemy except dogs and the giants with axes from what i've seen- as long as they are either moving slower than your walking speed or standing still- can be crept up on and opened up for a visceral with a held down R2.
Oh and john sorry if you know this already but Beast blood pellets are very valuable. Use them against bosses if you like. This is how they work: when you take one your attacks multiply your attack power, so the more you land the more health from the boss it will take away, but there is a caveat to it, you also have weaker defense, but they are well worth it when you fight bosses with big HP. !
John: "I don't know what ___ is" My brain, after so many *Guys* videos and being trained to this particularly niche and meta brand of humor: (puts on glasses and guy's voice:) WELL ACTUALLY JOHN
I've been seeing a couple of Bloodborne videos from John and I was surprised. I guess no one really escapes the love-hate relationship with SoulsBorne games
Definitely throw some more into END! More stamina = more attacks and dodges and combos. Plus, levels get more expensive as you go so you don't wanna have to drop 25k echoes on trying to get that one extra swing if you can avoid it. You're a damage machine now! There's a soft cap for stats at 40 where you won't really get much more benefit from throwing points into it, so unless you're really going for something specific that's your time to flesh out some other stats. You're doing way better than I did on my first run! I beat the Witches before Amelia because she was giving me trouble. It's worth going back to Yahar'gul, you can probably handle what it has to offer and there's some cool shit hidden there! Glad you're having fun, it's such an awesome game.
6:15 I'm not sure the official name for that enemy, I call them "snatchers" and you can probably guess why. After doing about 1/3 of their health, they power up. Lucky for us, while doing so, they stand still for a good while. Perfect time for a backstab stagger! 57:28 I'm glad you appreciate this. Unfortunate thing about this game's community is change of pace bosses like this are often looked down on, but its nice to see something different and change the monotony sometimes.
The game is made to punish for being too defensive. That's why most of the creatures aggro most of the time. The game wants you to be more aggressive like a beast. The player becomes harden by the hunt. The reason the game becomes easier is because you become less scared and begin to be more aggressive.
When you decide to go back to the hunter that uses lightning, you can kill it up the stairs by finding a way to interrupt the lightnings then the second one by hiding behind the tree while fighting it. You can also kill the second one first by going over the roof to get to it first.
I think people are generally being very supportive of John but, let's tone down all the comments telling him about specific little things he missed. I feel like gameplay tips are acceptable but straight up trying to puppet John along to each area isn't cool. Let him figure it out. That's part of the appeal of this game is discovering new areas and things you missed, John is smart. He will figure it out.
So, I'm not a gamer. I don't follow "playthroughs" etc. I just watch playthroughs of games I like...all.. ONE of them. Huge bloodborne fan due to the cosmic horror nature of this game. By nature of my experience with gaming, I certainly won't be watching playthroughs outside of bloodborne and likely won't watch any other videos on John's channel. But damn...I just may. I wish I was a bigger gamer just so I can feel incentivized to watch more of Johns videos. 3 and a quarter episodes in, and this dude is the most entertaining playthrough RUclipsr. The death by pig , and the temporary raise of the White Flag against the unseen village killed me. Dude. You're awesome.
Awww... those poor doggos have sticks in their mouths! They just wanted to play a little Fetch and here you come into their Dog Park and ruin their play time. What would Belle say?🐶
The Bloodborne videos have indeed been a BLAST to watch! It gives me something to look forward to really consistently, and considering it's one of my favorite games ever, I can never get enough Bloodborne! Just two reminders of friendly and useful advice, since I'm not sure if you saw my previous comments, but all weapons, including the Hunter Axe, have transform attacks for various points in the combo, not just for transforming into their 'extended' form, but also unique attacks for turning back into their initial form! Stringing together some of the more complex combos is very rewarding in terms of being satisfying and cool, and dishing out some pretty immense damage situationally. Dodging toward enemies is a good idea, but only when the attack you're dodging into isn't one that is part of an enemy's combo (like the Executioner enemy's spin attack), or an attack with a 'lingering damage' kind of effect like fire, an explosion, things like that. Large boss enemies such as the Cleric Beast and Vicar Amelia have multiple body parts you can target and switch between using the right stick (camera stick). It is usually best targeting the lowest point on the creature's body so it is closest to eye-level with the hunter, which will keep the camera from moving around and trying to keep the torso or head of the boss in frame. Targeting a boss's head is best for when they are stunned and slumped on the ground, or if you want to throw an item like a Molotov at the head or shoot the head with a bullet (like a bullet empowered with bone marrow ash, or a bullet with a bloodtinge build where they actually deal significant damage).
I'm so glad you're having fun playing the game. Bloodborne is one of my favorite games and it's really fun seeing all your reactions. I don't think I've seen you express such awe and joy in a long time. I hope it refresh the joy games give you.

I really appreciate the effort that went into editing this to cut out the filler of you backtracking/going through an area again to collect blood echoes. Makes for a really good watch compared to how some other creators might just upload an unedited take, or cut out too much of the gameplay so you miss stuff.

John, I'm glad you are finding utility for the Hunter's Axe! The Saw Cleaver is a top-tier weapon, it feels like the weapon that they balanced the whole game around, but there's still some situations where it's not overpowered. Tips:
•I suggest going for Ludwig's Holy Blade, a great STRENGTH weapon.
(There used to be a community-agreed upon "level cap" of 120 for PvP, but there's not much PvP these days, so you can level past it, it's just not likely in the natural progression unless you grind or enter Chalice Dungeons)
•Your playthrough has inspired me to start a new game of BB! I am happy to report that the Co-op community is still very active, if you were to get PlayStation Plus. It's very beneficial to help other players defeat a boss so you can get a ton of Blood Echoes and practice the boss before attempting it yourself, or you can summon real players to help you (they tend to survive a little longer than the NPC cooperators)
•Try speaking with the NPC just outside the exit of Oedon Chapel to the left, straight from the Cathedral Ward Lamp
•You can also speak with the Lady of the Night and the Skeptical man NPC's in Cathedral Ward to send to the Oedon Chapel.
•You can also now access the DLC, where that strange moving portal thing killed you outside Oedon Chapel, but you'll want to be way more powerful to take it on (level 70 +, and a +10 weapon)
•Chalice Dungeons are not part of the main "story", but they are kind of neat optional dungeons.
In the "jail area" those voices singing in the distance are actually people doing "something" in the distsnce, is part of the lore
I never though of that! This game is mad, all this years later I can learn new things!

As a general rule of thumb, I’d be leveling Endurance and Vitality together and keeping them around the same level. Of course, you don’t have to do that, that’s just me, but do definitely make sure you level endurance a bit, how much stamina you have can be the difference between life and death
Would heartily disagree, Endurance need not be as high as Vitality, most builds typically can manage fine with around 15

Dodging towards the enemy is often recommended because many enemies have strong attacks designed to chase down dodging away. The goal is to dodge through their attack and past them, so they lunge forward with an attack and dodging towards ends up with you behind them while they're still recovering from the attack. Of course, it's a better strategy against some attacks than others.
literally just finished the last video and was sad there wasn't more. so glad I refreshed my subs, this is my favorite series right now!

I've been having similar things and John Wolfe, even when playing horror, always calms me down. I'm so glad he's helping you too!!
Probably a lot of other people said this, but the reason it's beneficial to dodge forward instead of backwards is because lots of enemies move forward a lot when they attack, so if you go forward they'll slip right past you, but if you go backwards you'll end up right where their attack ends up.

The backstabbing mechanic is so obtuse in this game. Its not intuitive at all to fully charge an attack behind an enemy. And then do a visceral. Whereas in Dark Soul you just hit the light attack button and blammo. Unique animation and everything

Yoooo, I'm happy to see you enjoying the hunter's axe! I used it through the whole game, at least as a backup weapon. Also because of this (5:55) Knocking crowds of enemies on their asses is too much fun. The axe also regains a larger amount of hp per attack than many other weapons, which is nice
I think I remember you saying in one of the previous videos that the hunter's axe doesn't have transform attacks like the cleaver, but it does! I may be misremembering if you've tried it though. It's transform attack from axe to halberd, has a long-range poke. Situational, but nice to know
I've been loving the playthough, thanks again John!
Liking this series, you’ve picked up on things so quick. Thanks for uploading more.
you're doing great, john! a mild tip i might give is that strength and skill are both 'main' attack stats, the difference is mostly that different weapons will scale damage differently based on the two, from E to D, etc. etc. with it climbing higher as the weapon is upgraded and whatnot, accounting for whatever levels it already starts at. pumping strength is more than fine, but to make the most out of it you might have fun checking out a weapon like the kirkhammer, which you already have and also scales really well with strength! it's mostly just a thing to keep an eye on, because it's the kind of thing that lets you get the most out of your stat investments. things like the saw cleaver have relatively balanced scaling, so it works fairly well with that in any case.
I feel like he should really start putting more into the stamina bar and defense now. Especially for the 3+ mob groups.
Damage and HP all the way 🚀 unless you're doing a dedicated bloodtinge or arcane build. Although after ~40 strength gives really diminished returns

Bloodborne tips:
- Repair your weapons!
- tentacle bois take your insight away from you
- eyeball witches (as found in the unseen village) will also take away your insight.
- if you have 0 insight, then you can’t level up as you can’t level up via the doll (her activation is tied to having at least one insight).
- hemwick lane ladies are weak as fuck but fast as fuck, beware of zoom.
- beware of imposters of all genders
- almost anything can be parried
- tiny strange little bois who skitter across the ground give good good loot. murder them.
- if you can see it, you can get to it!
- every area is connected even if it doesn’t make logical sense. the world is literally stacked on top of other worlds and areas. the lore of bloodborne is insane and crazy.
- in the far future, beware of spider.
- tbh beware of all dog types, including werewolf
- transform attacks do big damage, but there is a time and place for all types of attacks.

If you want to stealth, just barerly push the movement stick so that you just "walk". If you kill a guy this way without moving they won't notice.
Or just abuse pebbles to kite them one at a time. That was my bread and butter, especially as a Skill build.

When John killed the good crow I felt that.
The bag dudes are indeed called Snatchers according to the wiki(most of the names come from datamining on the wiki)
The game is made to punish for being too defensive. That's why most of the creatures aggro most of the time. The game wants you to be more aggressive like a beast. The player becomes harden by the hunt. The reason the game becomes easier is because you become less scared and begin to be more aggressive.
Love this series John! Your sarcasm and commentary throughout is the best lol

Targeting a boss's head is best for when they are stunned and slumped on the ground, or if you want to throw an item like a Molotov at the head or shoot the head with a bullet (like a bullet empowered with bone marrow ash, or a bullet with a bloodtinge build where they actually deal significant damage).
noooo he killed the friendly crow
I'm so glad you're having fun playing the game. Bloodborne is one of my favorite games and it's really fun seeing all your reactions. I don't think I've seen you express such awe and joy in a long time. I hope it refresh the joy games give you.
Ah yes today is going to be a good day when John uploads.
i love how the witch grabs the hunter by the neck and gouges an eye out and the hunter is like "tis but a scratcH"
