Also Moreau’s voice actor did a bang up job, i really liked the constant sniveling and how strained it sounded like he’s just riddled with disease and in a lot of pain

If I recall correctly he already referred to her as his wife when they were both coming back from a convention, where they met the Devs from the cube escape and rusty lake series. Since his face can be found in the files of the past game with Dale. Where they also made a movie out of it. :)

Saaaaaame. Like of all the so-called lords, he seems the most pitiful and used. Poor dude was prolly only chosen bc of his experimentations with the cadou or smthg. But man what a harsh existence. Everyone looks pretty but he looks like a fish was spliced into his back.
Considering what Miranda did to him, Lady Dimetrescu hit the jackpot, didn't she?
Immortality, a big giant castle, loyal daughters/servants, retaining human form, etc.
Meanwhile Moreau is just... yeah.
I think John was the only streamer I've seen so far to express pity for Moreau. Obviously a painful personal story or situation doesn't excuse horrific actions, but the man had suffered terribly and I at least felt sorry for him. Maybe death was a mercy.
Lady Dimitrescu had a huge catstle, Donna Beneviento had a cute cottage core house, Heisenberg got a gigantic factory/workshop to play around in. Meanwhile, Moreau is staying in a dilapidated hut in the middle of a nasty lake....

Yeah,I watched another youtuber completing it in 2 days and he was not looking for anything,it was immensely painful to watch. Why other probably just run through and missed a lot of detail and what the game to offer. But it's their first gameplay, if they replayed, they probably would have found it.

One of my favorite parts about this series is whenever John shows off how much money he has and how clearly proud it makes him
And how wrong he is. Until this part I was also swimming in money, had like 400k, and spent it like an idiot, so by the time I reached Heisenberg and the machine pistol and submachine gun became available I couldn't gather enough money to get those. Kinda pointless to include those guns anyway since at the end of that part Eithans part is kinda over as well as the game... This is an annoying thing about the pacing of RE games, by the time you have access to the better gear you dont have time to use them. Of course it's not the point of the game anyway, but still.

I actually really like Moreau's segment! It's like a gross but cool horror theme park. Some of the visuals are so cool, especially that bit where you zipline across the lake. Also he kinda looks like a Bloodborne boss lol.

I don't know how far back these videos are recorded so this might fall on deaf ears, but yes you can kill the big werewolf, and Luiza's necklace has a key inside of it, just letting you know!
It almost physically hurt to see John use the grenade launcher on the wall instead of the beast, when at the end of the last episode he actually read that the husband was getting the weapon to kill it. T_T

Also, I’m glad that John found the note of the guy in the last video saying that he saw his dead wife, explaining that the flowers are hallucinogenics that caused us to see/hear the wife and baby, rather than the dollhouse sequence being an *obvious* mental issue goin on. (Of course it doesn’t completely cancel the probability, but its still nice).

The Connections was the name of the organization that Mia worked for and that developed Evelyn in the first game. That giant mass in that cave seems to be the basis for how they created Evelyn. The note in that cave alludes to this when it hypothesizes the reason for the .5% difference between Evelyn's mold and the thing in the cave.
I felt like a bully when I played this part. I just keep telling him why he's pathetic and nasty.

You can free up inventory by giving the Duke say 5 out of the 7 meats for any given meal. While he won't complete it, it locks those ingredients in so you only need whatever is left and frees your inventory up
The first flask Ethan got had "EVE no 3" on the label, the bioweapons here reek of The Mold, and now The Connections (who created Eveline and were involved in the Bakers situation) are mentioned...
Yeah, probably Eveline's consciousness survived somehow in the residual mold that she infected Mia and Ethan with. And she wants back, baby.
And Eveline actually appeared in Shadows of Rose, searching for revenge

I think he’s my favorite out of the four (Beneviento is close tho) just for how cool his area is.

I think that you, if you haven't already done it, should check out the Baker incident report from main menu, it has information about The Connections and gives an interesting fill-in to what happened in these 3 years between RE7 and RE8

John, you may know this by now but you CAN kill the big Lycans. They're fast, tanky, and deal high damage but their crystalized skeletons are worth a ton of Lei. Best strategy is to camp outside doorways and shoot them with the F2 rifle. Then retreat inside when they charge and keep shooting with the shotgun and grenade launcher. Be warned though they can pull you out of buildings if you're close enough to the door.
you mean the Vârcolacs? if so then you could also just shoot them with normal guns like the shotgun and block I was able to kill the leader Vârcolac ( the one in a small farm area by Luiza's house) by simply blocking its attacks and using MOST of my ammo (he sure is hard to kill) by the end of the fight I had ONE grenade launcher ammo left but the blocking is what saved me 100% I still had like 1 more heal left and I started with 3 so only 2 heals for a boss is really good.

I really like how you explore everything in the game and read all the documents. So many other streamers/youtubers skim through everything and then complain how the game was too short, and the plot too confusing. Love your playthrough the most!

1- The Bat Lord = Vampires
2 - The Dark Weaver = the yarn you found in the Doll House
3 - The Fish King = Moreau
4 - The Iron Steed with a gear - (obviously)

Surprised no one has told John you can break boxes without having the knife equipped and you can push back enemies to gain space.
Barely getting around to watching this, but also surprised and is quite infuriating that he always goes all the way back to the church to save when there’s literally a save station right next to the Duke 😩

I beat the game last night, doing a trophy run now getting all the Goats and weapon parts, then moving on to my Hardcore, Knife Only and Village of Shadows runs.
This is my favorite RE since 4. Absolutely fantastic game, and my running for GOTY. (it would be Returnal if I had a PS5 though. Damn that game looks good)

At 1:17:24 When the zombos appear next to Ethan suddenly, it feels like a Bugs bunny bit, where Bugs appears next to the hunter and looks into the hole with him and is like: watcha watching, doc? And the hunter doesn't immediately realize that that's Bugs.
Wait !! Hold the phone !! Mia said she got the storybook from an old woman in the village, right? Maybe the similarities between the story and the game events aren't because this is Indie Psychological Horror Game #398, but because the Hag was the old woman who handed over the book? She's the "old mystic woman" trope anyway, it would make sense.

Just wanted to say I've watched a few people play this game (both streaming and YT) at this point, but your videos have given me more of an experience than any of the others did. As someone who can't play the game(s) myself, you added more context about the previous games, more helpful explanations/engaging theories, more looking around and enjoying the atmosphere than anyone else I've watched. High quality stuff, man. Thank you for all of the effort you put in rather than running straight through the game just to beat it.

To be honest I had this letsplay on because i needed some background noise as i worked. I’ve seen so many RUclipsrs play it so i figured it wouldnt be anything i haven’t already seen. But when i tell you i was so mfing shocked at all the things John has found in this game that I had never saw! I had no idea about the little research spots that Chris’ team had set up or the little treasures all around! I’ve been glued to the screen seeing all the things John has discovered! I already enjoyed John letplays from finding his one of the quarry but this absolutely solidified it! Amazing job!!
Let's admit we've already seen the complete playthrough of this game somewhere else. It's just John we are watching it for - again.
I have a really strong desire to go and see the full game, but for me its more fun to wait for john's video
I want to know how he could've dodged that vomit attack. On a separate note, I think the variety in the bosses/encounters was excellent but still somehow stayed true to the overall motifs.
