Your comments about the heat and bright sun on the controller screen gives me the idea of rigging an umbrella on a tripod to get out of the direct sunlight.
You know I love your flights down the canyon, man it's beautiful. I will have to visit there whenever I get over to the states. As regards the Air 3 ..... typical DJI, they always knock it out of the park!
Hi Marcus....The canyon is always a winner to photograph. Looks like the Air 3 did great. Looking forward to more video. When I was out there a yr ago. I understand the bothersome flies and the heat. Thanks for your efforts.......👍
Never get tired of seeing Snake River Canyon, this location and channel was a key factor that got me into drones in the first place. It's a location on my bucket list. What a lovely bird the Air 3 appears to be.... DJI are going to bankrupt me 😂
Another great canyon adventure! Thanks, Marcus! As much flying as you do out there, why not take a portable sun shade? They are not expensive and are easy to set up and take down. You and your gear can stay cooler, and the controller will be easier to see!
What a great place to test a drone like the Air 3. Amazing piece of tech. We really are living in the future. Really appreciate you making these videos. Great video Marcus.
Mine came 2 days ago but did not get to check it out yet at my favourite location due to rain then later wind and probably will have to leave it to next week when things forecast to improve, but a least I got to watch your great initial review. I noticed the RC 2 fans coming on loud when I was just updating the firmware but I was resting it on my leg and was not aware that I was blocking the vent, fans slowed down again after I took it off my leg.
Hello there Marcus! Once again, another spectacular flight across Snake River! My Air 3 should be here Tuesday and it’s upsetting I live so far from Idaho as I say dream about flying there all the time 😂😂
Great video Marcus I'm getting drawn in to buying one now but I will wait for more of your reviews on this...its a shame you forgot to record at the end especially when you was doing your reveal but I guessed your excused as you had a busy weekend and you was melting out the 😂...until next time my friend 😁👍👌🇬🇧
OMG...Marcus and his Air 3 at SRC!!! What a combo! Seriously, I loved every second of this video and kudos to you for putting up with the sun and the flies! You are dedicated! Stunning video and some great performance out of her on her maiden flight at the Canyon. I hope you found some AC and put your feet up after this flight....that sun can be draining! As always, good job Marcus!
Great to see your new drone in action on your first flight Marcus. Loving the zoom function - many thanks for sharing your trip down Snake River Canyon :)
I expected the Air 3 to be impressive, but this flight absolutely blew away any preconceptions I had. I knew that it had the 3X camera, but since I don't do a lot of video zooms, that wasn't a big selling point for me. What really caught me by surprise was that it uses a 4 cell battery pack! The speed and power of my Air 2S makes it head and shoulders above the mini drones because of 3 cell power versus 2 cell power. The 4 cell pack in the Air 3 would put it that much ahead of my drone! You used the RC2 controller that came with the drone. Is your RC Pro controller compatible with the Air 3? Thanks for taking me flying with you again, Marcus! Always a good time!
Hi Marcus, thank you for sharing your first flight of your Air 3 with us, especially in that heat. DJI must love you more than me, you got your Air 3 so soon. I ordered the same time time as you, but my Air 3 won't be here until this coming Wednesday. I was hoping that the cameras could be switched while recording, that is a complaint I have with my Mavic 3. Maybe DJI will fix that in a future update?
I have learned to have faith in DJI’s return to home, but every time you push it to the limit with the low battery return to home, you add some high drama, Marcus. I have had several flights with my Air 3. What a joy! Cheers, buddy.
Great video. The StartRC Sun Hood works well for DJI controllers; inexpensive and easy to install. I have a new Air 3 and have been doing flights in the Rio Grande River canyons. I have to be very cautious when flying from the top of the canyons in the deeper and narrower sections because the Air 3 can suddenly lose the RC signal which is a bit unnerving. I am glad to see that the RTN to home function works well as you have demonstrated. Again, great video.
Marcus great job with this first flight (wink wink) we all know you been having the Air 3. lol you know i gotta mess with you. Can’t wait to get mine. Keep the videos coming
Great first flight with new Air 3. I was really impressed with the new 3x camera, gave a whole new perspective on the river at the base of canyon. Both the cameras looked great out there. And the drone seemed perform very well, essentially RTH mode. Thanks for sharing Marcus. ,
Wouldn't be a proper Idaho Quadcopter video without Marcus forgetting to hit the record buttton at least once per flight. 😂 Great video as always. Air 3 might be my upgrade from my old faithful mini 2
Hey there it is! Just about to watch... at 3 AM, LOL! Glad you got out to the canyon after all! Its 95+ every day here in NC, but I am just loving the Air 2. As soon as it cools down I'll be getting more "Air" time! In that direct sun, you probably could use a sunshade of some sort. I think they had one for the RC (RM330) that should work on the RC-2 (RM331)
Fantastic maiden voyage with your new Mavic Air 3! I liked 95% of what I saw in it's performance! I plan to wait to see what happens with that drone before I buy it. Just like last time, I purchased the Mavic Air 2 and 10 months later came the Air 2s! Really broke my heart and I just don't trust DJI right now. Thanks for the presentation! A lot of folks are doing the same thing but I always enjoy yours! Get in the shade my friend!
Hey Marcus , delighted to finally got out to do the first flight , I know you where tied up for a few days. And what an amazing place to do it.Coming back the picture look so sharp the canyon wall on the river. 1x and 3 x where great. Also on the new controller you can name your files ie. you could name that canyon at the start . and if you did say 3/4 video all around the canyon it all filed away in the file name "canyon" . looking forward to get mine soon... great work as always Marcus your seen delighted with this drone.its pack with tech etc
Awesome footage Marcus! You're blessed being so close to such an iconic place, I love it! Btw I had to send my Air 3 back for the same reason Johnnie sent his and a few other reasons. DJI said since I'm within my 30 days there just going to replace it. Gotta love DJI customer service! They really r the best imo. Great video brother! 👍
Hi Marcus! Don't forget the sun screen. Thanks for battling the elements to give us the Air 3 perspective! I have the Mini 3 Pro and was thinking of adding the Mavic 3 Classic for the more windy days. Now, I have to ask if I should get the Air 3 instead of the Mavic 3 since you had such a fun flight. What's your take on this comparison? Let's "get those birds in the air" and compare!
Even without having Explorer mode, or maybe in its place, you can use the zoom dial to get 1x-3x on the wide lens )cropped), and 3x-9x on the Tele lens. Something we DON'T have on Mavic 3 is you can be zoomed all ths way at 9x, draw a box and get Focus Track; Spotlight & Point of Interest all the way zoomed!
Wow, Marcus, The color on that thing is amazing. It reminds me of my Mavic Air 1. It also had fantastic color vs. the Mini 2 and the Air 2. The later 2 drones are also great drones but tend to lack the color of the Air 1. But that Air 3 is poppin. Perhaps to get that HDR mode you have to click on the Res&fps numbers on the control screen. Recently on my Air 2 I had forgotten how to get to the zoom mode and that's where I found the additional menu. Let me know if you find the HDR mode. However the color on that thing is so good it probably doesn't even need an HDR mode. I've already made up my mind to pull the trigger on the Air 3. Thanks so much for posting this great video. Cheers!
Long time viewer. You always have a good video. Like the man says get an umbrella with a stand. I guess the new saying is "Only Marcus and the mad dogs go out in the noonday sun". Not flying now for a while in AZ. You've probably heard why. I really enjoy your channel.
Nice video Marcus, can’t wait to see more. I ordered mine through Amazon and nvr got a shipping date or tracking number. Saturday night I cancelled Amazon order and went directly through DJI. I got a notification today stating to be shipped. Let’s hope it’s being shipped tomorrow Monday. Enjoyed watching this Marcus.
Oh dear, I've just remembered NO Droneseeker. Stole your thunder I guess. Altho you get another week to get to know your new frend. Is the river lower that usual, looks like it to me.
Aire 3 looks cool. Will probably be sticking woth the Mini 2 for now myself. On a side note, I recently moved to Spokane Vallyb(used to live in Snohomish before then). Alreadyvfound a few good spots to fly at innthe Spokane area. Though I think I will be scouting put some places in the Post Falls and Cour d Alene areas as well sometimes (maybe Hayden Lale amd Sandpoint areas on some occasions too). Didna drone fligjt in Post Falls last week (long before the wildfires happened on Friday). In the Washington side, 2 good spots I have seem are Loon Lake as well as the Spokane River right along the Washington Idaho Border In a pull out area along Seltice Way (aka Apple Way) near the bridge. Will probably check out Sprague Lake out towards Ritzvklle sometime too.
@IdahoQuadcopter True. Definitely a change of scenery for me after living in the Seattle area for so long. Already found a few good spots to fly from: Saltese Wetlands area near Liberty Lakes, Loon Lake to the north of Spokane (boat launches are usually fair game in Washington State, at least when they are not busy). Also in the Idaho side of the border, I already found at least 3 good spots to fly at: near the Idaho Washington border to the north of 90, there is a pull put along apple way, aka seltice way that i wa able to fly from. In Post Falls just north of the bridge there is an undeveloped area thst I was able to fly from and get views of the Spokane River through there. In Couer d Alene area, there are some spots along tbe lake thst works well too. Will probably find more places over time, but it will take getting time getting more familiar woth the new areas.
Muy buen video amigo. Me demostró que el air 3 no es potente en alcance su batería debió llevarlo más lejos. Empezó con 90 y termino muy rápido en activarse el RTH. BUEN TRABAJO PILOTO!
Too bad you can't use the RC Pro Controller with the Air 3. I rarely have issues with viewing with my 1000 nit screen. Hard to believe that an Occusense upgrade isn't just a firmware update? Nice flight, but I'm sticking with my Mavic 3. Thanks for sharing!
@IdahoQuadcopter That's great! Sure beats the planned obsolescence of my Mav 2 Pro's controller. Thnx for the info. BTW, I'll betcha the next iteration of the Air 3 will have three cameras.
I've been looking forward to seeing you fly the Air 3 at the canyon. This is a great look at the drone. I'm still leaning toward waiting for an Air 3S or a Mavic 4 Pro. DroneXFactor had an interesting take. In his view, the Air 3 is the successor to the Air 2, not the Air 2S, and viewed that way, it's a big step forward. Just as the Air 3S will be a big step forward from the Air 2S, I'm sure. The video looks over-sharpened to me. Maybe DJI needs to do some work on that, and it will improve after a future firmware update. Pilot Institute did a series of comparison shots among the Air 3, the Mavic 3 Classic, the Mini 3 Pro, and the Air 2S. You can't put too much into it, because most of the clips were either underexposed or overexposed, but when they compared the 3X lenses, the Mavic 3 ate the Air 3's lunch. That also may be a candidate for a future firmware fix on the Air 3. I will look forward to your future Air 3 videos. I'm sure I'll learn a lot from you.
Hi bud great video. It's cool when you put the flight information on the screen, it would be better if you left it on the screen it makes it way more interesting to be able to see that information all the time other than that I would say you're 1 of the best at what you do. Thanks 🚁🏴☠️
Thank you very much! I do understand what you're saying about the telemetry screen. I don't leave it on all the time, so that the full video screen can be seen.
Great first flight. And what a location. Wow. Marcus do you think the video was up to scratch. Looked a little blurry to me . The video of the rapids in particular was breaking up. Is that a setting?
Yeah, and I was in metric the whole flight. 🙂 Just kidding around. The Air 2S is still just an amazing bit of tech, this one is an advancement for sure, faster, dual cameras, more features etc.
Great video sir!! So here's the question: I'm just a recreational flyer right now and I have a DJI Air 2. I think it's great...I use it for vacation trips and social media. I'm a full-time firefighter and I have been thinking about getting my part 107, for maybe doing some jobs on the side. Would you suggest an upgrade to the 3 Air?
Thank you! If you want the Air 3 of course, it's another leap ahead in drone tech and quality. However, your Air 2 is still a phenomenal drone, and you can fly it for years to come.
@@IdahoQuadcopter apologies I thought you sold it on to your friend... Demarco? Well in that case I am definitely looking forward to seeing the comparison 😀
@@IdahoQuadcopter Ah! That's right! Well I'm certainly following with interest. Here in the UK I'd be limited to flying the Air 3 in the A3 category so mainly open countryside. Which is honestly where I find myself driving to even with my mini 3 pro for some relaxation flying. However often that means I end up staying home as the winds can be quite strong so I'm looking at this as an add to my fleet. I have the RC pro and don't want or need another controller so if they do backwards compatibility I may be tempted. Also the Air 2s is available new at half the price......
Great content Marcus. Very nearly a Mavic 3?
Wow! Thank you, Jeff. You're right, very nearly.
Very nice first flight Marcus. Thanks for sharing your flight.
Thank you Bob! It was great fun!
What a beautiful place to fly!! great video Marcus!!
Thank you so much Mark! I appreciate the visit!
Your comments about the heat and bright sun on the controller screen gives me the idea of rigging an umbrella on a tripod to get out of the direct sunlight.
That's a great idea!
I’m so happy that you got your hands on the new Drone can’t wait to see all the videos so as you always say, let’s get that bird in the air
Thank you, Robert!! This one is a winner!
What a beautiful scene. Really gives you a lot of opportunities for drone video!
Thank you, it's a great place to fly!
👍👍✌️Those darn SD cards I’ve been stung with a few of those in the past. Very crisp video
I reformatted it on my computer, we'll see if that works.
Really enjoyed watching this one Marcus, thank you 🙂
Thank you for stopping by Julius!
A phenomenal first flight of that DJI Air 3! Makes me wanna sell off my Mini2 and Mini 3 Pro and get this Bad Boy!!
Thank you! DJI gave us a good one! 🙂
Well done Marcus ! The DJI Air 3 is a real winner !
Thank you Bill! I so agree!
Great video,I always enjoy watching your flights over the canyon
I'm glad to hear it Jimi! Thank you!
You know I love your flights down the canyon, man it's beautiful. I will have to visit there whenever I get over to the states. As regards the Air 3 ..... typical DJI, they always knock it out of the park!
Thank you, Alan! I'm sure you would get some amazing video of the canyon. 🙂
Stunning 1st flight over the Canyon, Marcus. Lovely quad. Enjoyed watching. Thank you!
Thank you for watching Thanos!
The perfect place to fly your drones ! Happy flying with your new drone 😀
Thank you! It is a fun drone! 🙂
Great video!!! Thanks for the info on the Air 3 . I should get mine 8n a few days.
Enjoy that new drone! It's a good one!
Breathtaking scenery. Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Hi Marcus....The canyon is always a winner to photograph. Looks like the Air 3 did great. Looking forward to more video. When I was out there a yr ago. I understand the bothersome flies and the heat. Thanks for your efforts.......👍
Thank you Jim! Those flies hit you just when you're making a critical maneuver with the drone. 🤣
Marcus love your videos!! I would love to drone there. The Air3 looks like the King so far!
Thank you so much! The Air 3 is indeed a winner!
Nice flight Marcus.
Thank you, Jerome! I appreciate it!
@IdahoQuadcopter I will be getting my air 3 next week so I will be in the club.
Never get tired of seeing Snake River Canyon, this location and channel was a key factor that got me into drones in the first place. It's a location on my bucket list. What a lovely bird the Air 3 appears to be.... DJI are going to bankrupt me 😂
It is my happy place! I'm there more often than I film.
Oh yes, DJI gets a ton of money out of me. 🙂
Another awesome Snake River Canyon flight. Congratulations on your Air 3. No doubt it is an amazing drone! Kudos Marcus!!!
Thank you Capt. Ray! It was a joy to fly! 🙂
Great video
Happy flying with Air 3 👍
Thank you! This is a fun one! 👍
The drone came back home at an altitude of 26m even though the setting was 35m. Did you notice? Really beautiful canyon and super video.
Yes, I had it in Optimal mode for RTH. 👍 Thank you!
Another great canyon adventure! Thanks, Marcus! As much flying as you do out there, why not take a portable sun shade? They are not expensive and are easy to set up and take down. You and your gear can stay cooler, and the controller will be easier to see!
Been HOT here to.. Expecting temps 98F-101F coming Wednesday-Saturday with 60+% humidity. That's hot! Great Flight... Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Capt. Joe. Yes, the heat is really something. I'm glad we don't have that humidity.
Awesome flight Marcus! You have one of the best places to fly! Looks like the Air 3 performs amazing! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Michael! I'm enjoying the Air 3!
What a great place to test a drone like the Air 3. Amazing piece of tech. We really are living in the future. Really appreciate you making these videos.
Great video Marcus.
Yes, we are Phil! These DJI drones are amazing!
Great flight ! Fantastic camera on this drone. BTW - the original DJI RC screen gets very hot as well, without a fan. Enjoyed the video. Thank you
Thank you! Yeah, it was blazing hot! 🙂
This is incredibly good footage from the DJI Air 3! I am very impressed to say the least!
Thank you Kev!! This may be the best all-around camera drone ever.
I love when you go down into the canyon. It’s a beautiful location, and an impressive drone. Another entertaining video Marcus … great job 😊
Thats what she said :P
Thank you! It is fun flying at negative altitude! 😀
Great Video of first Flight! Looking forward to getting my Hands on one of those!
The Air 3 is a winner! 🙂
This place is really impressive to fly. Thanks for sharing Marcus. 👍👍👍
It is absolutely my pleasure! Thank you!

Very impressive flight, Marcus. That new bird is looking pretty darned good! Thank you for bringing it to us. Regards. //Tom
I'm thinking it's a good one Tom! Thank you!

Thank you, Shaun!! You may need this drone! 🤣
One off your finest vids nice vid.thankyou.

No better place than the canyon to test out this new DJI drone. The Air 3 looks amazing and the 4k@60 footage is stunning
Thank you Ryan! I had to send it at the canyon! 🙂
Beautiful location and amazing views from the air 3 .my favourite drone channel. Thanks for all your efforts Marcus 🙏
Thank you so much! It was a fun flight!

I would be a nervous wreck letting my drone go that far away from me! Yikes! Great vid! Thanks for posting!
Btw…if you were to drop down closer to the water, from where you are standing, would you lose the signal?

Potentially, but I saw no degradation of signal on this flight.

Saturday night I cancelled Amazon order and went directly through DJI. I got a notification today stating to be shipped. Let’s hope it’s being shipped tomorrow Monday. Enjoyed watching this Marcus.
Nice Bob! One thing about ordering direct from DJI is that you get a 1% credit to use later. 👍
Please do a comparison video with Dji Mavic 3 Classic Vs Dji Air3 Please Please
I don't have a Mavic 3 Classic, but I may compare the Mavic 3 Pro with the Air 3. Thank you!
I just moved from Idaho, such a beautiful place.)
Welcome to Idaho. It is a great area!
Oh dear, I've just remembered NO Droneseeker. Stole your thunder I guess. Altho you get another week to get to know your new frend. Is the river lower that usual, looks like it to me.
We did a special DroneNation during the Drone Seekers time slot. 🙂
Oh, thank you. I MISSED IT!
The Mini 2 is great! It's fun finding new places to fly!
Keep in mind that was the first charge on that battery. I had fun flying it!
nice review Marcus
Thank you Eddie!
Thank you, Del! They say the RC Pro will be available for it with a firmware update soon. 👍
Thank you! It's tough to go very far wrong with any of DJIs drones.
Very good video sir, what's with the metric units....guessing most don't care for it.
Thank you very much! The metric system is easy to learn and makes so much more sense than imperial. Multiply by 3.3 and you'll be close in feet.
I suggest that you take an umbrella with a stand to be able to see the RC better and avoid the heat 😊
Thank you, that's a great tip.
I'll take another look, but I thought it looked great. Keep in mind part of what you see in the video is just a screen recording. 👍
@@IdahoQuadcopter Had another look. Yes it was a screen recording.
Beautiful share. We have subscribed 🙂 have a great day 🙏
Thank you so very much! 😊
When the temperature is not favorable, I fly from inside my car, as long as I can maintain vlos. Thanks for the video.
That's a great idea! In this case I had to hike out to the edge of the canyon. 👍
Behold!! All thats left of Lake Bonneville!
It was a heck of a flood!
Great vid as usual Marcus! Sorry if you mentioned in the video, but were you using an ND filter for this flight? If so, which one?
Thanks in advance!
I do not have any ND filters for the drone yet. I hope to soon!..
@@IdahoQuadcopter well it’s a testament to your skill and the drone that I couldn’t tell 👍🏻
30:05 Not in celsius?? No use for metric system for temps?? WTH Marcus?
Fahrenheit is more accurate than Celsius. 👍
I got a Samsung sd card from Amazon last month that wasn’t working either. Had to get a new one.
I guess they can be defective. 👍
Great video. How did it fly ? Should I get one or keep my Air 2 S ?
Yeah, and I was in metric the whole flight. 🙂 Just kidding around. The Air 2S is still just an amazing bit of tech, this one is an advancement for sure, faster, dual cameras, more features etc.
@@IdahoQuadcopter lol. Great video. The scenery there is awesome. I’m in Florida lots of beaches to video. How’s that controller?
@@Reaperdrone67 No question the DJI RC2 is an advancement. It's more responsive to touch and has a cooling fan. 👍👍
@@IdahoQuadcopter ok awesome. Hopefully it will work on the air 2S eventually.
Considering the smaller sensor size than on the Air2s what are your first impressions comparing the two? Perhaps regret selling it?
I still have the Air 2 Jason but will likely sell it down the line.
@@IdahoQuadcopter apologies I thought you sold it on to your friend... Demarco?
Well in that case I am definitely looking forward to seeing the comparison 😀
@@gmivisualsjason3729 My pal DeMarco bought my Mavic 3. 🙂
Video quality look way better if you use nd 32 filter in this scenaro. thanks for sharing.
I should have some filters soon.
Fly next weekend at the Canyon?
Sure, or Lucky Peak?
@@IdahoQuadcopter Lucky Peak! Haven't been there. And..I'm not on call - yay!!!
What device are you recording audio from DJI mIc to? Your Phone?
I was recording to the memory in the mic itself. 👍
Marcus do you feel the video quality superior to th air 2s or similar, beautiful video.
They're both really good. I'd need to look at them side by side. 👍
