  • Drivers, increasing minimum wage, gig app pricing and customer tips should cause you to reflect on your job security! In this video I will ponder these facets that affect our livelihoods as independent contractors in the gig economy. If you drive for UberEats, Uber, GrubHub, or DoorDash, you better watch out for what's coming your way. I will highlight some other apps that may be a better source of job security.
What do you think of that? What am I missing? I hope you remain profitable and maximizing your time on the road. I appreciate you so much, Russ

Excellent video thank you for sharing. And that is my exact same goal every day I find myself making the same decisions early in the morning to try to ensure my goal. I used to regret the decision sometimes but now you just can't be sure so I take the options as early as I can

Thank you Kenneth! I appreciate your validation on my thoughts. I know we can’t change anything in the economy but we can give the best customer service and work hard. Russ

Increased minimum wage is only going to help. This is only for Fast Food, it is NOT the state of California minimum wage either FYI. And like you said, the billionaire companies already raised the prices of the fast food, so they were going to raise the prices anyways even if they continued to underpay the staff. It is not the employee's fault for the increase of their wage. They fought for the right to be paid more fairly, and it is still not enough for most American citizens in CA.
Maybe if they raise the minimum wage even more, GIG APP workers would quit doing gig work and "get a real job" at fast food and be able to afford housing.
I have been in retail for almost 10 years and 6 of those years were working with food, 3 in "fast food". I am not in the food industry at the moment. Thank goodness, it is an awful job that every American uses but every customer & employer seems to undermine.
Americans will lose some damn weight if they stop eating addictive fast food, it is a WIN WIN.

Great points! It is a vicious cycle. Everyone should work in retail at some point, ideally early in life, so you can see how you are treated and how to treat others. Thank you for your insights! Russ

Check out Daryl Delivers channel. He focused on Instacart a lot. Now he mixes in rideshare. You have to be selective on batches to do well. Also check out Instacart Dude’s channel. Both are in the general area above LA. I hope this helps! Russ
