Your absolutely correct but a nice spray booth does make a job easier Well it did for me back in 1991 I took my Chevrolet s10 1989 apart and sprayed it with Glasurit paint and high solid clear wet sanded and buffed everything it was a damn masterpiece I wish I had never sold it the guy took it to shows and won first place in paint That truck I custom built took the v6 and manual trans out put a 300hp v8 and 350 auto trans Redid the dash with all Vdo gauges and bucket sets carpet and a hurst quick shifter It was a very fast truck it had 373 posi in rear I also had a solid camper shell that was carpet lined and carpet in the bed. Sold it in 2003 damn I miss that truck .

Cool colour bro on the dust issues too doo with spray painting in basic conditions I got taught an old trick from an old timer and that's to run an earth lead to the car to an ground point and that reduces lots of particulates in the job as the air and paint causes static it helped me lots when I was just painting my own stuff in the farm in an open shed and dirt everywhere

Yes sir I always did the same before getting access to a good paint booth. I would always use a leaf blower and blow the shop completely out, then pull in the garden hose and soak that floor, and also wipe my air hose off good first

Thanks man! I bumped the front of the car and had to buy a new hood, and haven't painted in decades, and want to do something cool, but been afraid to. You really pumped up my adrenaline and I ready to get another airbrush to go with the paint sprayer my wife bought and never used (for furniture). Then on to the process, washing and sanding down the car, and then disconnecting the gas hot water tank in the garage (Don't need no burned up house). I'm ready to do it. Gonna get A.I. to come up with a design for the hood.

i tried looking up "this particular gun" and couldnt find it...went to sprayguns direct and it said talk to gritt...lol. you are correct about spraying with the purple gun or whatever works. i gave up painting due to divorce in early 2000s and a friend talked me into spraying his 5.0 gt. i piece mealed a compressor together and a 14.00 hf gun along with a 20.00 da and couple sanding blocks and did the car up...after that everyone started calling and i continually upgraded. i like your energy ...keepem coming

Damn good idea to hit those spots with adhesion promoter. Most videos just show it used for raw plastic. You got a good set up that works. I'm sure u didn't figure it all out in a day. Experience and working around obstacles. Making it work👍
Painting in the country after midnight - dust is settled and locked down because of the the morning dew + cooler helps keeps bugs at bay..!!.... Dupont Nason grey sealer by the gallon is a single stage/available at O'Reilly's auto parts.. Ppg has a house brand too for cheap.... You can cut a hole on intake sode of booth and put house heater filters to create a clean cross draft..... * Along with slower reducer, Your 75% spray overlap is also key to preventing blotchymess or streaks !!!

If you have more time than money, absolutely try it yourself. In some cases, a person can mess up a car 4 or 5 times, materials and all, and STILL come out cheaper than what some of these shops charge. Props to everyone out there that has the courage to at least try.

Just an added bit of advice. Soak the entire floor with water while spraying and it will stop any dust and crap blowing up into the paint.
