E Class and 5 series broke my heart :( Selfie camera ?! Those gimmicky screens disgusting! Could've left the 5 series short wheelbase at least. Not happy at all.

Nice enriched discussion...Chinese story is very compelling and no one can deny them their due importance...infact from Indian market i feel they are next only to VW in terms of build quality but far far ahead in terms of latest features, practicality even ahead of Koreans for that matter...hope Indian companies learn from them ...

Maybe this is the time to have Mahindra and Tata build JV’s and partnerships with some of the Chinese Manufacturers. Us consumers will surely benefit. I think the new age Chinese cars are good looking. For example the MG4, the BYD EV6, BYD Seal, MG Cyberster etc. So they do not lack in design language as per my estimation. It is about time we stopped looking at the East in a patronising manner and looking at the West in awe.

I think problem with China is the culture doesn’t work anywhere outside of autocratic communist countries where any hostile voices can be silenced. Customer service is not a Chinese forte. Plus all they are doing is EVs well but now there are discussions if EVs is really the future or may be it is hybrid for markets like India where charging infra is still far far away from being mainstream

We need Chinese car brands to come to India so Indian car brands can wake up. India as a country has access to cheap labour but the products are being overpriced because of lack of good competition.

MG should launch the SAIC's Baojun Yep Plus version instead of Bingo Plus. It is the same EV in a different outer skin. Indians will like the Yep Plus SUV styling far more than the vague Nissan Micra type curves of the Bingo Plus. The Yep plus looks like a baby defender while maintaining its own style elements like the unique headlight signature.

They might be attractive looking cars at good price. But car purchases are made with many years of operation in mind. So far, the Chinese have not proven reliable in servicing the cars or two wheelers in any market, India or Africa or others.
So all this talk about the glamour misses the important points.

Price matters....... In UAE market flooded with Chinese cars. All other Japanese, US and Koreans increased price drastically for their new generation cars. In place Chinese car filled up with 60% price of Japanese and Koreans with all the bells and whistles.

They already are starting to replace the Japanese. Just look at the marketshare loss Toyota and Nissan have suffered in China in favour of Chinese EVs.

Too much jingoism around china. I think we should accept that they are just better than us in making cars.
