Trust me, I know. I was kind of in a rut myself a couple of weeks ago, so not only did I make this video to help YOU guys out, but it also helps to keep ME motivated to keep getting creative with my locs at the length/stage that they’re in.
So yesterday I completed crocheting my hair to form locs and I was excited because my ends were curly. I didn’t think I would find someone with locs similar to mine and I found you! New subbie! 🖤🖤🖤
I locd my hair the same way . I crocheted it myself , i love that my ends are curly its so pretty, Ive been locs for 2 months now and its way better than coil locs they dont unravel easily
You are such an inspiration! I appreciate you posting your styles . I’m in the awkward length stage with my locs that I started in March of 2019 and this helps out a lot !
Thank you! Though if your locs are already mature and you do cut bangs I don’t think they’d have this same look since my locs were still very puffy/frizzy and not fully loc’d at the time (which I actually enjoyed!). But hey, don’t let me hold you up; if you want ‘em, go for it!!
I don’t actually use anything to loc my hair; it’s just my hair texture really (type 4) that makes it loc easier than some. And I’ve been locked on and off for the past 12-ish years.
This video was much needed. Thank you. I just got instant locs and could have swarn I had way more length than this before I got them done. Now that I have them the appearance is shorter than I imagined and so this is the length I am working with until it grows lol.
Loooove every style, we have the same length and there are definitely some hairstyles I will try out. I have a wedding to attend and really need to save my pennies so going to the hairdressers can't happen. Thank you for this video ❤️
Well NOW it’s a little different since I no longer have locs but when I did it was super simple; just sprayed my locs whenever I felt they needed with an essential oil/water mixture and put a bonet or satin scarf on at night.
Nice loc styles! Did you style your locs often in your early stages? I seldom did because the tension caused headaches. I love that you have bangs. I have bangs too. Do you trim your bangs?
I did, but whenever I styled them it was always super loose/low tension, so it wouldn’t really bother me, since I too tend to get tension headaches pretty easily.
Thank you! I don’t remember the exact number, but I think it was around 80 something. But since this was an older video, I’m now down to 57 in my current set, and I’m LOVING it! Less locs to interlock, plus added thickness!💚
No, it was a mixture of water and different essential oils; peppermint, rosemary, sweet almond, tea tree, eucalyptus and lavender. Just my own blend, but you can add whichever essential oils you'd like!
I’m not a doctor nor a loctician, but it could be a variety of reasons both internally and externally. Ask yourself what does your diet look like, do you stay active? Do you style your hair often in tight styles? Also it could be genetic as well, in which case there’s not much you could do.
How far were you into your journey at this point because I want mine fluffy and thick like this. To be fair, I’m only two months in but I had my first retwist and they’re so thin 😩 I started off with two strands twists
I don't quite remember how many months loc'd I was here since this was almost 2 years ago, but I know I was almost 1 year loc'd. And as far as having thin locs after a retwist? I'd say try to ask your loctician NOT to retwist the loc the whole way down (meaning, not to wrap all of your frizz back into the loc), this way only your ROOTS will be neat and retwisted but the length of your loc will stay frizzy and puffy. This is what I did basically to achieve this look, except I interlocked my roots...just lasts longer. Also the amount of frizz I have came from time. So after a few months of accumulated shed hair yours will become frizzier as well; but again, that all just takes a bit of time. Hope that helped! :)
I started them with two strand twists and I maintain my roots/new growth using the interlocking method. I have a video demonstrating how I do it here: ruclips.net/video/VE4tTv8UUXAh/видео.htmlttps://ruclips.net/video/VE4tTv8UUXA/видео.html Hope that helps!
you mentioned that u lost ur locs after the birth of ur daughter..what do u mean?.. .any suggestions or advise about that process i am 38 weeks n i have shoulder length locs.. ive been growing them for 2 years now..
Yes m, as Etta said, I only lost 2 locs on my edges due to postpartum shedding. Technically, they didn’t fall out on their own, but the bases started to get really thin to the point where I just decided to cut them off and just allow whatever new growth that started to grow back in AFTER my postpartum stage to grow into its neighboring loc. You can also choose to reattach later once your postpartum edges fill back in again. I just didn’t go this route. So to answer your question, only my two EDGE locs got so thin at the roots from the postpartum shedding. The rest of the locs on my head were perfectly fine.
81; but that doesn’t really matter much. What does, when it comes to loc thickness, is how many strands you have on your head per square inch and the density of them. That’s what determines how thick your locs will appear.
Thank you for sharing your video I really appreciate it. My niece locs are around this length; and I’m searching for cute styles for her locs…. For those of you watching this video my prayer is that you ALL come to know JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH as your LORD AND SAVIOR. ROMANS 10:9 say that if we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that GOD raised JESUS from the dead we will be saved.
