Fun fact, in the base game, the Halphas subquest didn't exist, meaning that Oni was left alone and depressed in that cave in the original game's conclusion to his subquest.
i noticed a few continuations of quests like this im glad for it i think a developer desided that some of the originals ended a bit uruptly (especially the 4 kings one imo)
You're really getting the hang of press turn combat! For your first non-Persona Megaten game, I'm generally really impressed at how you're picking it up. It's also incredibly engaging to watch someone play this game blind because blind playthroughs are incredibly rare for SMT, but I think they're most enjoyable to watch when the player makes decisions organically and discovers the world on their own for the first time.
I think blind playthroughs are a bit more common now with Vengeance in particular. Seems like P5R and P3R really brought up the hype for getting SMT V multiplatform. I've seen a lot of blind playthroughs pop up from people who recently got into Persona.

I like how Ali's take on Halphas is the return of her Judge voice.
So Return of the True Demon was originally DLC for the original release of the game.

just an array of advice
- demons can resist, null, or be weak to status effects
- magatsuhi skills that are like "when two [whatever] are together", you only need one to be in the active party. the other(s) can just be in the stock and itll still count.
- dont be afraid to use essences. like, for real, they get outclassed fast.
im very bad about not using essences, the limit of one each makes me hord them until i absolutely need to alter a demons skill set i like
@@brandonwithnell612 Yeah, I made that mistake, too, but you almost always just get better essences that obsolete the old one. Might as well use up all the ones that teach Agi to give coverage since once things learn Agilao they won't matter anyway.
To skip a skill animation press the B button. I'm assuming youre on xbox controller. Some of these animations can get long. Double tap if needed.

Love the demon Oni so very excited to get lore on him! 😈That act with the bird family was amazing! 😂Never would've expected a wholesome story like this in an SMT game! That was 10/10! As well your VA was perfect Ali!
They just did a P3 playthrough, but I don't remember if they finished the Koromaru hangouts to unlock fusing Byakko in that one.

Having the right resistances to defend against enemy attacks is much more important in SMT than in Persona, because of the way press turns work. Similar thing with Sukukaja/Sukunda, since if the enemy misses anyone, even on an AoE, they lose 2 entire press turn icons.
Little tip, you can press L to use the pillar in the demon haunt, so you don't have to go to the exit everytime

That Raptor Talisman ability you got is actually part of one of the strategies for the Demi-Fiend superboss fight. It's REALLY good (because most bosses aren't immune to every status so it's likely to land something on even them)
ETA: AHAHA! Knowing what's coming up in this bossfight, Evan's ending comments are glorious. A reminder, this s the horniest game Atlus has released since Catherine.
just a heads up the lv 24 requirement is only fr the first part of that mennorah quest so dont expect to get all that macca right away

what is the referance? i was planning to play some of the oter smt games at some point after i 100% ths one. i know a few things from nocturn as i hear it has the most relationship to this game but i have only played the first couple hours so far
@@brandonwithnell612 I was going to compare what's coming up to the Matador fight in Nocturne...the first boss that really tests if you understand the game's systems and mechanics. If not, the game will spit you out without mercy.
