- Once again, we take a journey on the small side with a trip to the annual Diamondhead Steamup!
Featuring several different locomotives from a Union Pacific "Big Boy" to a Southern Railway "Battle of Britain" Class, there's no shortage of variety in this quick look at the wonderful world of Gauge 1 Live Steam Locomotion!
If you'd like to see more pictures from previous events and register for the next show, please visit: www.diamondhead...
I never get tired of seeing the Big Boy. Really impressive.
Accucraft did the locomotive justice. Aster also made a good model of it, too.
The one featured in this video is an Accucraft model.
Very nice video. Thanks.
Awesome 😎
Thank you very much! Hope you enjoyed the video.
Oh yeah!
Nicely done Chris ! Hope to see you at Lodi July 14,,, Hint Hint
*Tonight!*
A Big Boy, a red 8F, and the British prime minister!
That pretty much sums it up in just a few words!!!
Great video man, I have a Wilesco D16 stationary live steam engine.
There was a stationary steam engine (Not sure if it was Wilesco or not) that powered a homemade margarita mixer during the show! One of the great things about Diamondhead - you get to see the creativity and passion these live steam enthusiasts have for their craft.
Can’t wait for the premiere!
That looks like a fun hobby although I'm sure the price isn't
The bigger the scale, the bigger the price tag is the usual rule of thumb.
The Accucraft Ruby now sells for $650 ready to run, or $600 in kit form. But if you browse EBay or come to the Diamondhead Steamup, you'll usually find secondhand engines at very decent prices.
