We call it Family Learning Time here! It has our art, music, poetry, current events we need to discuss, devotional time, nature study, games and puzzles. We typically do it after my little ones have their buckets filled so right before lunch!

We do a family basket because it tends to happen whenever I get to it. We do a little of everything but typically…a ROL, poetry, devotional, science/history picture book, person/Shakespeare, math review and CNN10

My son is 13 but has special needs so finding a balance of what he understands and enjoys without making him feel like a baby is a balancing act, no lie great to see a morning or learning basket not aimed at lower elementary students. I might have to hunt down those 2 truths and a lie books as well that looks perfect for him as that is something we have to work on all the time and the idioms dictionary I have to explain Idioms so often. He is also a madlib addict. Okay I might just have to copy 90 % of this basket

We are using Word a Day and On This Day in History during our family time!! We are all enjoying it. We also do World Watch News (on our TV) all of my kids love it (ages 15-9)

Love all the materials you’re using! I’m inspired to try the fitness dice. For current events, we started using Weekly Reader years ago, and then we switched to Scholastic News once that ended. Interested in seeing what you end up going with!

We do something very similar, and I use some of those same resources. I did see a couple of yours I want to add though. ❤️

I lure my 11 and 13 with an audio book. It gives us a chance to be together without being directly in each other space. The attitude of a teenager getting back to work is sometimes very hard to deal with.

I always get excited about the books you share. I really wanted that Two Truths and a Lie Histories & Mysteries book but it's no longer available as prime and is super expensive 😔

I notice the lack of a read aloud. Are you moving away from that since she is so invested in her book clubs?
I have 4 homeschooling and I can't successfully start with independent work because when 2 are done...2 are not...it doesn't seem like a big deal but it seems to waste a lot of time.

This was something I totally missed! We will still do read alouds. They can be found here: www.thewaldockway.com/the-ultimate-middle-school-booklist-for-your-homeschool/
