I was in high school when I heard they were coming to Philadelphia and I resolved to go because I thought they were so old it might be the last time I got the chance. That was 1983.
Here they are in 2024.. 40 years later coming back to Philly. Still kicking ass for people like me in this generation who appreciate their contributions to music and pop culture!
I have seen this before and always thought that it was Ronnie who quit playing early. You see and hear that Keith keeps playing his guitar but you can hear Ronnie's guitar stop briefly. Keith looks over at Ronnie wondering why he stopped playing.
In a 1972 live take of Jumpin' Jack Flash Charlie ends early and Keith turns around and flips him off and I always thought that was a good moment ruclips.net/video/XCMrXC8D05Q/видео.html

Not the Stones best tour, I’m afraid. The stage was so huge that Charlie Watts complained that he could go half the show without even seeing Jagger. I was at the Orlando show and this was before the days of huge monitors, so you couldn’t really see the band. I think this was the last tour that Keith and Ronnie were the backing singers. In future tours, they used singers instead.
These guys liked kick off their tours by playing a surprise gig at one of small Chicago Blues or Rock clubs. No announcement. They'd put Rolling Stones on the sign about an hour before, and half the city would scramble to get tickets. So if you've seen them in an arena, I feel sorry for you. If you saw them in a 100 capacity bar, then you have something to talk about.
Rappers are so boring they all sound and do the same thing and just copy what the guy before them does I feel like rock stars really has there own vibe but no internet and no phones probably had something to do with that also
this might not be the most popular stones song but it sure is the song that makes you feel most happy.
Its gotta be their most popular for sure

I thought the same thing when I was in high school and went to see them in 1989.
Same for Steel Wheels tour.
Bro I wasn't even born yet lol
@@danielevensen5539 You missed some good times!
My Friends...this is the long lost art form known as Rock and Roll.
R.I.P. Charlie
Being a native American full-blood I never thought that I would say that Keith Richards is should have been the king of rock and roll
Incredible video quality: shot on 35mm as in full featured movies !
Mick was right almost 40 years later he hasn’t stopped.
Saw them last night in Denver, absolutely epic
Love how Keith calls for the end, Charlie keeps playing, and Woody busts out laughing....Rock n fuckin' roll!!
I've watched this before but never noticed that, lol good catch. I love the little nuances between the band. It's the best.

knockitofff I noticed that too hahaha. I love how Mick Jagger is just like screw it, and goes back into his little dance before they finally end it
Had never noticed that - good catch!!!

Saw them the in Houston in 1981, freaking great!
Freedom to Film you were there?
This is band is the best
Ian and Ian on the keyboards. Miss them.
Good to see McLagan and Stu working away for the cause! No question this was the top band in the world.
Brilliant, Ronald. A true gem
thank you man
u're welcome!
Stones on 🔥 here, feeding off the crowd
Best version
Watch at 2:39 Kieth thinks it’s the end of the song, and turns to Ron Wood, who see’s the mistake, and they both laugh. Awsome.
Keith called for it to end to Charlie and Charlie kept going so being the pro, Keef went one more round.
@@teleguy5699
Kieth doesn’t call it,they’ve always ended it the same every concert.Kieth just missed it.
now THAT'S an audience
Coc
Look for this song live in Argentina. Thats an audience
I was 3 yrs old when this tour occurred. Wouldn't know who they were until steel wheels when I was in third grade.
Band good! ❤️

I can't compete with the riders in the other heats
If you rough it up
If you like it you can slide it up, slide it up
Don't make a grown man cry
My eyes dilate, my lips go green
My hands are greasy
She's a mean, mean machine

Never stop, never stop
Tough me up
Never stop, never stop, never stop
You, you, you make a grown man cry
You, you make a dead man cum
You, you make a dead man cum
This is Keith Richards at the very top of his game. It was probably the first time the audience generation was 50/50
Wow these dudes can bring u up on iur feet mick is awesome front man dsmmit this guy rocks concerts
Desde mi mayor atrevimiento, este riff, el de "Little thing called Love" y "Fanky" (Wolfy García), son los mejores de la Historia!
Never cared too much for this song. I was shocked when reading Keith’s autobiography “life” how much he liked this song
Why?
That’s weird. Why wouldn’t he? This song is infectious and gets everyone pumped.

00:07 - 00:32 Keith Richards had the best style of playing guitar.
01:08
02:40 Keith do something on the back of Mick.
Start Me Up . Nice one .
Saw this tour in Louisville KY. Some 500 or more concerts down the road and it still rates #2, slightly behind Pink Floyd.
We should greet Aliens on Earth with Rolling Stones show
I want some of those trousers Micks got.
You You Youooooo
Those are fucking ROCKSTARS! Got it?
El más grande
If there ever was a song an intro that Jesus Christ could return to it would be this riff! How cool would that be!

6000 persons indoor at Brussell 73 first show was quite good to, no stage design, no smartphones and Mick taylor. Wish i could be at this one too :)
"The Cockroaches" was their "incognito name" I think.
Like
funny how ronny puts on his sunglasses and then continues with the wrong entry chord :)
01:08
Nope he played it right!
Oh I saw it!! LOL coming out of the chorus ..
Did Charlie ever get tired of seeing Mick's skinny ass always wiggling in his face?
Yes . Sometimes. He usually concentrated on playing though.
😂😂😂
One time he punched Mick for saying “ Where is my drummer?”
he said he was "following" Mick's ass to keep the groove on :)
nope it pays the bills
I choose you, cube one.
when the stones were still kicking asses!not as good as with Taylor but still very impressive
Mick has a cool job.
Chingón, chingón
How long they been doing this now? 50+ years? Start me up Gramps..
London Rocks NY X
London mate. LONDON.
Listen to the depth of Charlie's bass drums!
and the legendary sound of his SNARE!!
That was what I first noticed seeing them live. That bass drum. I said to myself, yeah they're going to rock.
MALCOLM!!
That tele rips!
Did Bill Wyman ever move around on stage? ..man 😆
Where’s that warped echo sound?
Mick and those spandex pants, haha
They were 'football pants', actually.
To be honest I kinda like this outfit by him.
Both dead and live men come.
Keith is hitting some sour notes on the guitar
at 0:45 keith almost hit mick with the guitar
mircea1910
I guess they weren't on good terms that evening. During most of the concert you can see Keith avoiding Mick.
2:40 Did keith do something on the back of mick?
I don't think it was anything malicious....Keith needed to get to the microphone , he turned around and Mick was in the way.
@@lakerouge9857 Yes, Keith let Mick know that the song will finish.
@@aussieboy77It's happend sometimes cause Jagger's moves are often unpredictable.

Is Mick wearing adult nappies there ??
No, your entire savings.

I have no idea what happened between 1978 and 1981......but it wasn't positive.
